This is a wonderful transportation history museum! It's so comprehensive with artifacts, information and fun too! There is even a real train you can ride inside the museum!!!! There are several tiny train dioramas that are works of art with model trains constantly in the move. It's hard to explain the wheels museum- you just need to go see it to understand for yourself! It is definitely worth a visit!

I was at the railyards and hear someone share that the museum next door had information on the yards and would be worth a visit. So I went over after going the the railyard market. I was expecting to see nothing but train stuff. To my surprise there was much more. There is everything from old cars to a working train you can ride. There are lots of trains set up but there are other things. The volunteers that were there talking to people were friendly and helpful. There is lots to see and I want go back an check out things. Its an old building but what they have done is fun.

The volunteers were super knowledgeable and very willing to share history of how Abq came to be. It was interesting to hear about all the history of NM I had no idea about.

Who knew wheels could be so exciting! There's actually a lot more to the wheels museum than just wheels, but I don't want to give too much away! The guy who showed us around was real nice and gave us a lot of information! They were actually closed when we came in but this nice lady who worked there let us in anyway. Can't wait to come back when it's officially opened!

It's more a group of volunteers who got some cool stuff donated than a normal museum. There aren't a ton of signs or explanations of stuff. But it was super fun and everyone there seems to truly care about what they do. And then of course there's the Train you get to ride. That was a lot of fun.Good for keeping kids interested and engaged for 1-2 hours and considering it's all on donation, what do you have to lose?

This museum is definitely a must see in Albuquerque. Happened upon the Wheels Museum while visiting the farmers market at the railyards on a Sunday early afternoon. There is everything with wheels on it at the museum. My favorite exhibit was the model car room. Also loved taking a ride on the train inside the train room. Very cool. Both adults and kids will enjoy this must see museum. Entrance is free, but I do recommend leaving a donation as they rely heavily on donations to keep the museum operating. The volunteers inside the place were very nice and answered a lot of questions we have. Do plan a visit if you are in Albuquerque. Check their website for a schedule of operations.

Went recently and was impressed by the collection. Met many enthusiastic volunteers who all loved trains and the like. Offbeat, unususal place definitely worth a visit. Very close to the railyards market so can do all of it in one go. Fun little train for the kids,
