March 8, 2024: Finally got our escrow refund from Village Capital - the people this company sold our mortgage to right after closing - many months later. Should've never happened the way it did. Good grief.

Woo-hoo, can't wait to pen this mortgage company review! We've now refinanced with this company twice, the first time a decade back, in a different home, and now in 2021, masked and distanced. I've already penned a stellar five star review for the broker, Jason, he was on it from the moment we got started. This review concerns our experience closing out the paperwork at the end, the staff, the facility. They were clearly utilizing Covid-safe practices, carefully scheduling clients to keep capacity at a minimum. Our conference room was clean, pens were sanitized and we were asked to pocket those that we used. Our loan officer exhibited an efficiency that lacked... personality? But oh well. At the end of the day we just wanted to sign the contracts and move ahead. Like I said, this was our second time working with the company, and things worked out well.

Marty Padilla and his team were right on top of everything from start to finish. The local real estate market here has low inventory and a lot of people coming from out of state with wads of cash, so if you find something, you have to act immediately. The Waterstone folks were there to get my paperwork through, answer my questions, and talk me through the process. Plus, they are well known and respected in my community, which helped me make a stronger offer on the place I bought.

We worked with Jason and his team on a second home purchase in Albuquerque. Throughout the process Jason and his associate, Patrick, helped guide us through the mortgage process with patience and knowledge. Our home purchase begin in mid-December and despite the holidays, winter storms and flu season we were able to close in mid-January. I don't know when Jason sleeps considering we live in a different time zone we would ask questions via email at night expecting a response in the morning only to get one later that same night. Despite working on this home purchase during the holidays we closed without issue and would highly recommend Jason and his team at Waterstone.
