Uptown Lamps & Shades

These folks did a great job with my vintage mid-century modern pendulum lamp. It was flickering and acting up with its smart plug, so I opted to have it rewired. It took some time completing the repair, however, their recommendations and the end result were spot on. So if you prefer using a locally owned and operated business as I do, definitely use their services. Note - they also had a lovely selection of shades and accessories!

This is one of those shops that you return to again and again. It first started with the rewiring of a family heirloom lamp, then a shade purchase. Antique floor lamps were the next to be rewired and shaded. Then it happened, the lamps I had waited for all my life and I didn't even know I needed them. The shop always has the most beautiful selection of shades. I find the selection wide ranging, from folksy to elegant. Deborah is extremely knowledgeable, ever so helpful and just a down right lovely to work with.

We had a very contemporary floor lamp repaired at Uptown Lamps & Shades and Debra and her staff did an excellent job on the rewiring that was required. We recommend their services highly.

My recent experience buying a lampshade at Uptown Lamps & Shades was so good it prompted me to write my first Yelp review. No other place in the area approaches it for the variety of shades and a knowledgeable, helpful and patient proprietor. I brought in my unusual antique lamp for a fitting and found two perfect choices. The shop's generous exchange policy is a bonus. It was worth the 30-mile trip. Wish them the best!
