The Surgery Center is located on the 2nd Floor and has a nice waiting area. They assign the Patient a number and have a screen that you can keep track of your loved one as they go from Pre Op, Surgery, Recovery, Ready for Visitors etc... It's really a great way to handle things and keeps you from bothering the receptionist ( Believe it's Vicky) who has been there a long time and kept us waiting for 10 minutes while she talked about the Mediterranean Diet on the Phone with someone. Her lack of empathy, reluctance to return Phone calls is the reason for the 4 Star Review. The Doctor we dealt with was wondeful, the Nurse who took care of our Loved one was great and even check-in was easy enough.

Let's start with a 2-hour wait before vitals were taken for a cardiac patient with cancer. Follow that with nearly 4 hours before being given an exam room, private conversations with patients in the waiting room, orders being given and retracted, techs without masks who cough around patients. My husband was told he'd be admitted to a room but kept in the ER for 18+ hours. If this is New Mexico's version of "excellent care," then go to another state. Which I intend to do.

It is a open space building, has plenty of parking that is level and paved. Security is available. I walked in and a volunteer asked my name and where I was going, she gave me a wrist bracelet, a number and showed me where to wait. Sat about 5 minutes when my name was called. Tim registered me, nice, helpful man. He explained where to go. On the second floor. I sat 5 minutes when I was called back. I was shown to an examination room and went over my information, was told the doctor would be in shortly. 5 minutes or less Dr. Kahane an ENT Surgeon walked in, introduced himself and checked my ears, I was able to see inside my troubled left eat, very interesting.

After 4 days in a row of calling the Rehabilitation Center for my post-surgery physical therapy and leaving a detailed message regarding my reason for calling, I finally got a call back and was able to schedule my first appointment for Feb. 27 (two weeks later). On Friday, Feb. 23, while I was napping in recovery mode, they called to cancel this appointment. When I got the message and called back, I once again could not get through to a human being so I left yet another message about rescheduling. To this day, I never did hear back. Luckily, Lovelace was able to get me in for Feb. 27 and I have been going there twice a week for my PT. Please don't waste your time trying to schedule anything with this department.

I got wrongfully terminated from this place. Christina Maelee manger on 5th floor tried to fire me without HR being there to do the process. they also tired to kick Union out and would not let him represent me for the meeting. I didn't sign the bullshit letter of termination they tried to give me because it was all gossip based and I was never talked to or disciplined fo it. This place will not call Union or me and will not answer any of my calls. they hire nurses that are uneducated in the sense that multiple patients have been overdosed on Insulin and there's no consequence for the nurse whose doing it. patients are also being given blood who don't need it and end up in the ICU because of it. I do not recommend working here or bringing any family members here.

I wish I could give them a 0.On Jan 11, 2023, at approximately 0610hrs, my wife and I entered this God forsaken facility. She'd fallen on her wrist the night before, but awakened with it black n blue, throbbing, and a little misshapen. We immediately drove to the nearest 24-hour ER, which was this place.Upon entering, we stood at the intake desk for 5 mins. My wife was in so much pain, she went and sat down while I waited another 5 mins for someone. No one came. So I walked to the ER doors, looked through the glass, and saw 2 female employees leaning up against the wall on their phones. I stood there, not knocking or yelling to piss them off; bit very quietly, willing them to look up.Well, after about 3 mins one finally did, the portly one. She said something to her coworker, who also looked up; and then both of the termagents went back to looking at their phones like I wasn't standing there!! Like WOW! These people are extremely unprofessional, rude, and disrespectful. People don't come to an ER to be treated like shit. If you don't like your job or shift, gtfo then!Medical care should be offered with compassion, understanding, patience; and most of all, EMPATHY!!! If you don't possess these absolutely needed AND desired characteristics in a medical PROFESSIONAL; go stock at Walmart, and don't be around HUMANS you miserable, subhuman curmudgeons. We decided to leave there after being treated in such a non-committal, evasive manner. We didn't trust that she'd receive proper care.Just because you're an employee at a state hospital, doesn't mean it's OK to be mean spirited and not do your j.o.b.I'll take her to the VA ER since I'm a Veteran
