One of the water fountains is off there in the distance. Can you spot it?
Parts of the trail (like this one) are temporarily closed off.
Watch your step on this part.

This trail is nice now that they upgraded it.
Ladies out for a stroll at the golf course! Don't forget to leash your pups!
This is part of the trail encompassing the north golf course.
This is the part of the trail that still needs to be upgraded.

This is part of the trail that still needs to be upgraded.
The current updated trail ought to continue down that hill.

I live nearby UNM north golf course but, being a non golfer, never knew discovered the awesomeness of this place for my specific living circumstances until my partner who's a golfer and a law school alum told me about it.Specifically, this golf course is good for all around exercise..be it golfing, walking, running and heck dog playing (only after the golf courses are closed/all players are done with their games in late evening though). It's a great place to come and relax..and socialize for your dogs, your neighbors or your friends as well! Best of all..for non-golfers..the place is free! And even for golfers..my partner told me...it's really affordable and reasonable!Overall, I'm just so glad to live close to this place to take advantages of it.P.S. best time for non golfers to go is late evening almost sunset time. The weather is nice and the golfers are done or close to finishing their games.P.S.S. beware of some coyotes along the west sides of the golf course perimeters too!

We are blessed to live right by this beautiful golf course and it is such a beautiful place! We love to walk our dogs there. However, please be aware that despite the leash laws, a lot of people will let their dogs off the leash and so you may end up with the dogs in your face. They take great care of the golf course and the walking trails. There are communal water bowls for the dogs but you may want to bring your own. There are also dog poop bags so you can clean up after your babies! This is a great family place and it's a true oasis in the middle of the city!

UNM North is in the best shape I've seen it in years - I'm not sure if they hired someone new to look over the course but it is in great shape. The occasional walker/runner will run across fairways but other than that the course and greens are in amazing shape. One of the best deals you can get in ABQ.

If you are just out to walk your dog or go for a 2 mile run it is a great place. If you came to play golf, I think not! The first four holes were fine but when I went to tee off on the fifth hole two women were walking right up the middle of the fairway. Dogs were not on a leash and not a care in the world. When I got to number six some guy was playing ball with his dog ON THE GREEN. Where is the marshal? Maybe they should just turn it into a park because it certainly is not a GOLF COURSE.

Great run. Landed at 2pm. Quick check of email and then out hotel room door to here. Perfect if you just get to town and need to get a run in before dinner. Ain't going to lie elevation kicked my butt for this former Colorado boy gone NW last 15 years. Nice short hills to sprint and get it on, recover down hill. May do again tomorrow

I did not come here to play golf. I was jogging around the neighborhood and stumbled upon a running trail that encircles the golf course. The paths are paved with dirt and the runners can be challenged with hills to build up some resistance. No bathroom or outdoor water fountains available. Street parking around some parts of the park. Right next door to University of New Mexico (UNM). Great place for a run (or a game of golf!).

I live a block away from this golf course and it is a neighborhood hotspot. I can't review the actual golf course, because I don't golf, but it is great for a walk, run, or jog. In the mornings and evenings inhabitants of the neighborhood and students at UNM use the path around the golf course for walking and running. The trails are well maintained and feel safe since they are well populated. The safety of area is important to me as female jogger. Also, in the evening, the green of the course transforms into a dog park where pooches can safely run around off leash. It is the gem of the neighborhood.

It's a golf course, not a dog park. . . yet.Enjoyed playing there over the years but the obnoxious non-golfers and dog walkers take over shortly after 4 PM even though signs are posted. They have no respect for the golfers or the course. They walk right across the fairways when we are teeing off, at times daring you to hit towards them, other times just oblivious. Letting their dogs run loose and crp on the fairways, the rough, etc, all while people who paid to play the nice little course are trying to golf. The staff do a good job keeping it cleaned for the most part. They are interfering with paying patrons.Somebody will eventually get hit and injured. It's like playing Russian roulette out there. Eventually some dog walker or person who thinks it's the community park will get injured, possibly seriously. If they just showed a little respect and courtesy by staying to the walking paths outside the course boundaries, as some do, it wouldn't be a problem.Getting to where I don't play there much any more. PS. I love dogs and have three myself.

We play this course often...about a couple times a month. Just played today actually. Fairly easy course, fast flow, good way to get in a quick round of 9 in the middle of the city. And the greens are often in great shape. Love all the large trees too!Rich, the main guy there, remembered me almost immediately after we started coming to the course after 3 times. Now he knows me by my first name when I call for a tee time! Great customer service!Although I love that the course is open to the public and their pets, the only problem with twilight is that walkers allow their dogs to run free through the course that late in the day and you might be trying to shoot around them and their humans.
