Waterfall
Lots of natural medicine
My niece adrianna waiting to feed the duckies
Love the blend of purple with white
Taking a moment to clear my mind. *peace...serenity*

This is a charming hidden gem in Albuquerque. The area features a lovely waterfall and benches scattered throughout, offering plenty of places to sit and unwind. The two duck ponds are home to numerous ducks and turtles, making it a perfect spot to bring the kids for a relaxing time watching the wildlife. It's especially beautiful in the evening. I highly recommend it for picnics or simply enjoying the peaceful atmosphere while watching the ducks. A true hidden treasure!

Ducks, geese, and pigeons everywhere, even in December! It cost $1.50 to park and the kids had tons of fun watching and feeding them. The animals are comfortable around people and will walk up amd eat out of your hand.

This is a really magical place! It's one of those places that tends to only be known about if you are a local or UNM student so it makes it extra special. It's a great place for a picnic or to hang out with the kids or dogs! Looking for a place to lay back and read a book in the sun? The duck pond is nice and quiet! A lot of people love to take photos here! My sister-in-law is a UNM alum and was married at the chapel on campus so a lot of her wedding photos were taken at the duck pond. They are beyond stunning!

Cute, shaded pond where you can watch ducks, fish, or turtles. There are benches to sit on, and they are all in the shade. You could also lay out in the grass. I wouldn't call this places crowded, but there seems to always be a few people around. It is very pretty and relaxing here!

In Albuquerque, if it holds water, it encompasses a certain majesty.Forget water parks, lakes or swimming pools, Burqueños rock water old school. We know the splashy splash is for the birds. So say I as my knuckle scales crickety-crack and leave skin dust upon laptop keys. The Duck Pond holds endless fond memories from my days as a student, especially during the spring and fall, when the temperature was perfect for a sprawl out on a grassy hill, forgetting about tests, daydreaming girls. But this gentle space offers refuge for one and all; host to an endless procession of weddings, kids play on the rocks on the west end, lovers hold hands on benches, and proud alumni parents (me) point out turtles to our toddlers. Ducks, meanwhile, are typically far too spoiled to partake in your pithy crumbs.I love this little body of water and the zen that surrounds it.

This is really nothing special so I don't know WHY I find myself sitting here so often! It was a nice respite in the intolerable heat of the summer (I'll get used to it, but I moved here in August so there was some culture shock.)Shady and cool. There are benches all over, but a lot of people just sit in the grass.Turtles and ducks - but PLEASE don't feed them bread. Turns out that's bad for the ducks and makes the water all poopy! Who knew! What I'm not sure about is where people from the community park when they come to the pond; I've only ever gone to sit there when I was already on campus for something. I assumed it would just be other students between their classes, but there are often families with kids there running around. For some reason this little pond is just a great place to sit for a bit.

Some one recommended I come here to take a breather from the world the other day. It's odd how I don't often enjoy the silence in my home but I very much enjoy the comfort that surrounds me here at The Duck Pond. I've actually come here often for solitude. I enjoy the rolling green hills that surround me, the shade from the various trees and the fresh air. And I can't get enough of the sound of water as it flows down the waterfall or spouts up from the pond. Most often though I find myself mesmerized by the ducks. Watching the momma duck jump in the water with all her duckies following suit. It always takes me back to when I started calling my... kiddos... my 3-little duckies. Quite a few years back traveling in an airport on the east coast scrambling to catch our flight I glanced over my shoulders and watched them one by one following behind me with their small bodies with their little suitcases bobbing in and out of people hopping off and on the walkways... Making it safely to the plane as they followed me.For me a simple place like the duck pond floods me with memories that can never be taken away....and takes me back to those amazing days of the duckies just being well you know... little duckies. If you're needing to get away and clear your thoughts this is a nice relaxing place to start.

It's a cold and blustery day today, and there is no one here! Perfect time to have the ducks all to myself. As I approached the water's edge, a gaggle of ducks swam eagerly to meet me. Unfortunately, I had no goodies for them, so they lost interest and swam away, but not before I got a photo of the large black mallard I call Big Poppa. He's the only black mallard I've every seen! The Duck Pond is a great place to sit on the grass or a nearby bench and people watch, duck watch, relax, read a book, drink a coffee, eat your lunch or just chill. Every now and again, there is some performance art occurring on the lawn, or some display art in the trees. You just never know what you're going to see here, so stop by often!

The duck pound at UNM what to say. I sometimes sit here between classes to soak in some sun. It is pretty a little smell but still pretty and peaceful. Being cooped up inside all day it's nice to relax under a tree and soak up some sunshine.

Great free place for my kids to play, see some ducks, a fountain, and a waterfall. Very pretty, and you forget you're in the desert.
