Uniquely Elegant Salon Spa

Today I took a chance on this salon and THANK GOD I wasn't disappointed! I went to see Samantha for hair cut. I asked for a Lob and she delivered. I wouldn't notice this salon if it weren't for Yelp. Its location is on San pedro is hard to notice if you weren't looking or from the area.Samantha was kind, sweet, and friendly. She never made me uncomfortable and force her opinion on me. She took her time with the whole process and was so professional.My review is solely on this particular service. I will be coming back for hair color and more. I will update my review later.

Sadly the service I requested was not what I paid for. I will first and foremost say that my stylist has honestly been awesome, no complaints whatsoever, until this point and I think that's why I'm so disappointed. I've spent $513 in the last 5 weeks to achieve what I hoped for and I ended up with my biggest fear - red hair. My grays had been showing since my appointment so within four weeks of my last color, which I have never historically had to do, I made an appointment to get my hair done again with my stylist Jessica and sent images of the color to ensure (and verify) they could match (so the grays wouldn't be as much of a contrast to the dark brown color I had). They let me know they would get my color and tone lighter and work with this image but couldn't guarantee an exact match to the color I requested, which I was okay with.I was sad when my hair was not only not lighter (as requested) but also had turned red from the color chosen. I should preface, when I first came into the salon I was worried about red tones in my hair, but I was assured by Jessica that would not be a problem and that's why I was so comfortable moving forward. Jess assured me (was very confident) that she knew what to do/ would mix the color with ash when I told her my hair tended toward red tones. I walked away from my appointment that was set to fix the problem in tears (again - red/auburn hair) and was told to use blue shampoo to try and fix it and when I asked to purchase some blue shampoo they said they didn't have any in-stock. I'm honestly just sad and so disappointed because I really like this stylist but there is no plan for remediation other than to use my own product (fortunately I happen to have blue shampoo), wait, and "not stress too much" (yes I was told this after my appointment and before I left the salon).So now before my family photos, and my son's first birthday there is no plan for remediation other than for me to wash my hair and wait.

After going to another "salon," I went home with butchered hair... I did some research and found Uniquely Elegant. I made an appointment easily for the same day and had Marisa as my stylist. She was amazing! She listened to what I wanted done, suggested what she thought would be good as well, and also gave tips on how to style it at home to get the best results. She fixed the horrible cut I had received. I am definitely going back to see her for future hair needs. The salon was clean and very pleasing to the eye as well.

I went in here for a Brazilian blowout. I saw Dan. I thought they would be stuck up and snotty here due to the side of town and the building. However the front desk girl was very nice. My hairdresser was very down to earth and was very nice. She ask appropriate questions on the history of my hair before she went on. And was nice and gentle. Then I was dreading checking out as I thought they/she was going to pressure me into buying their products, but no. The front desk lady asked me once and I said no thank you and that was the end of it.

I moved to Albuquerque and initially struggled to find a salon to perform a proper Brazilian blowout. I tried the internet to search, I tried Groupon, but the results were underwhelming to be kind. Coming from the east coast, with friends in Miami, and being Brazilian myself, I was overwhelmingly pleased to find Lene, the salon owner, who I am pleased to say gives the best quality of service and a treatment that feels better and lasts longer than any other Brazilian blowout I have received.After my experience, and looking to find a better quality salon for my nails, having been disillusioned with my prior salon, I gave this a shot with Danette. Come to find that she too gave superior service and quality as well! The salon is easy to find, and parking is simple. Over all I can highly recommend them without reservation

Fantastic Service! I was in Abq for the weekend and booked my apt last minute. The service was great! Emily hear my needs and She offered tips all through the session. Lastly, my hair style lasted 2-3 days :) I highly recommend this salon and Emily as well :)

This is my second review on Yelp. The first was for a hair salon where I had a really bad experience. It's only fair that I share a really good experience.This review is for Greg Miranda at Uniquely Elegant Salon Spa.I walked in two days before I needed an appointment and the receptionist was very friendly and accommodating. I truly lucked out by getting an appointment with Greg Miranda (http://www.uniquelyelegantsalon.com/employee/greg-miranda-hair-stylist-hair-colorist-albuquerque-nm/). Greg is a genuinely good person who takes great pride in his work. I literally didn't have to say anything and he knew exactly what I my hair worries were and what I needed for my hair texture and type. Anyone can cut hair but it takes a professional with a high degree of skill to really understand what the client needs convert it into something that is functional, manageable, and looks great! I am very happy with the results. I have found my new stylist! :)

I recently came to this salon for a curly perm. I ended up paying $125 for barely wavy hair after asking for tight curls. A couple of hours after leaving the salon, my hair went back to being completely straight. I ended up calling Uniquely Elegant Salon Spa to ask if I could get a refund or if they could redo it. They did not apologize, and they only hesitantly offered me a "free" deep conditioning, which costs $20. They did not make an effort to make up for the $125 I wasted and they refused to give me my money back. I'm sad that I chose this salon to get my perm because now I don't have the money to fix my hair. All this salon did, was expose my hair to harmful chemicals. If you can't afford to waste $125 at a salon, I wouldn't come here. I was also told that the salon would call me back and have a stylist "explain" to me why my $125 perm did not work and they never called me back. Total rip off.

I've seen Lenne for a few years now. Every time I see her she ups the price and tries to sell me a new product. Her work is satisfactory, but nothing I'm wowed over. She is also rather rough on my scalp. Before my last appointment she tried to contact me to see if I could come in early and called one of my relatives when I didn't answer who also sees her, which was weird. Then she acted mad when I arrived for my appointment because I could not come in earlier. My hair is also yellow and orange this time which is not the look I'm going for.

If you are looking for flawless results and a place where you feel at home this is the place ! It was bit of a rocky start with the salon however the staff made it right. They heard my concerns and addressed them straight away. There was no fuss about what I thought and treated me kindly and with much professionalism. They turned what could have been a one star into a five star. They went above and beyond for me which made me feel special . I absolutely love my hair. I will be returning to the salon ! Thank you ladies.
