This is a rustic park, for sure. It is located off of the Turquoise Trail (NM State Road 14), which runs from Albuquerque to Santa Fe. I liked that it is a quiet park, located away from the road. The staff person who checked us in was very friendly. We followed her in her golf cart to our site, where she guided us in. Unfortunately, the site had some overhang from a tree, and the top of our RV hit against it, so we weren't too happy about that. A different site without tree branches overhead would have been more appropriate for our RV.The site was gravel, and fairly level, with full hook ups. We had a patch of grass and a picnic table. The grass, although mowed, was full of foxtails, so we had to carry our pup out to the road, which was a bit of a pain. Also, there is a horse stable on a private road right next to the RV park, and people tended to drive fast along the road, which stirred up a lot of dust. But the views from the RV park are so very nice, hills and mountains all around. I liked that they had a full recycle area, for glass, plastic, cans, etc. But the trash bins were a bit full. I don't know but we might have been there just before trash pick up day.Like I said, the park is rustic, so I enjoyed walking around the RV area and the tent area. Nice flowers, trees, etc. There were some long-term residents, which added to the rustic feel of the park. But they were quiet, so no big deal.I would definitely stay here again.

June 3, 2023 - Turquoise Trail RV Park, Albuquerque, NM)We pulled into the park right at 4:30 PM after about a 2 1/2 hour drive up Highway 25 from Truth or Consequences. The weather on the way up was fairly windy and we got a few good downpours of rain. We were a little tired from the drive when we arrived. We got checked into site 26. There were some tree branches that made contact with our 12' 4" high motorhome, so that wasn't ideal. I wish they would've given us a different site that had overhead clearance. They mow the lawn area, but it is still overwhelmed with foxtails, among a dog's worst enemies. No fun when embedded in your dog's ears. The park is a mix of part-time and full-time residents. There are sites for tents and RVs. They have bathrooms and showers available for those who want to use them. Tokens are provided for showers. I believe they're good for 5 minutes each. The sites are pretty close together and the Wi-Fi is about non-existent. They have a rock museum in the main office area. I did like that the park is away from the main road.

The lady here was really nice but didn't take long to figure out it was all lip service. I think she'd tell you anything to get you to camp here. It's a beautiful setting. So we ended up in a site with no sewer. When we called we ask for full hookups and made the reservation. Then later after we'd made our travel itinerary she calls back and says "Oh sorry we don't have a full hookup for you ." Okay we can work around that even tho it's for 7 nights. So my husband went to the showers and found out you have to get a token. The water shuts off in 5 minutes and you don't get another token. "They are conserving water." But you can hook up to their water and use as much as you want? OMG. I could go on but I won't. Just get everything in writing before you completly commit.

17 miles form ABQ! In the Sandia Mnts. Cooler temps than ABQ and a nice laid back atmosphere at the campground. There was a Good dog walking trail around the campground and recycling! We were safe and peaceful for four nights this Fall! There are Showers and toilets and a dish washing station.

It truly pains me to write a negative review for such a beautiful zen and peaceful place but our experience tonight was anything but.We stayed two nights and had planned to book two more but a nightmarish scenario happened tonight and it was probably the most unpleasant, hideous and uncomfortable experience on all our cross country road trips. We are doing a cross country camping road trip from Vegas to back east and in Flagstaff at Woodys we had a really nice time, so we were so looking forward to camping here based upon the reviews.Upon arriving we were immediately in love with how idyllic, tranquil and beautiful the camp grounds were, we slept like a baby even though it rained for a short bit, it just enhanced the nature experience even more. The staff here are all about hospitality and love. So much gratitude to that and AUTUMN you ARE AMAZING!! Thank you so much for your kindness. Now here is where the 1 Star comes in.We fell asleep around 8:30, it was so peaceful. Then all of a sudden a half hour later we were awoken by loud noise that sounded like motorcycles and people circling our tent. I said to my roommate, I guess we have late arrivals which is fine and expected. Then the nightmare started. These late comers, 3 of them were joined by a 4th person. They sat right outside out tent at the picnic table and proceeded to talk and cuss loudly about:HeroinCrackPoliticsReligionAll sorts of negative topics then they started talking about 9/11 Conspiracy Theories. Laughing and joking about this horrible tragedy. The fact that it was Sept 11th really was just vile and disgusting to hear such talk ( LOUD and BOISTEROUS ) really disturbed me and made me feel so upset. I have friends that were affected by it and lost loved ones, so this personally affected me on a deep level. They continued to act obnoxious for hours, I heard someone scream out "Can I have your large knife there is a coyote by my hammock and I want to stab it" while laughing like a crazy person. More cussing, then singing...it was quite obvious these people were drunk and not respecting quiet time. We did not confront them but turned on our lights and walked out of the tent a few times as to say to them "You guys woke us up"This continued on until 1:00 AM when we finally decide to take down our tent, pack out things and flee like the Lutz Family at the end of The Amityville Horror. We legitimately felt TERRORIZED by these people and the laughing and constant singing and giggling made us feel like they knew that they were disturbing us and didn't give an eff.Our zen and beautiful magical peacefulness had been destroyed by ignorant people who were not mindful, rude, vile and just horrid people by the topics they discussed.Look it's a free country and everyone is entitled to their personal beliefs and I respect that, what I don't tolerate and respect is people who don't care about other people's space and have the need to speak so loudly about negative subjects, sexual language from the guys "C'mom F-Me Kat, Show me your P*SSY that made us feel 200 percent uncomfortable, threatened and offended but mostly sad that our peace was disturbed on such a next level at a beautiful campsite. There was no security to talk to, we only had the office number to leave a message to say we were vacating the campgrounds in the middle of the night. We are now on the side of the road not sure where the night will take us, with our service dog. I hope that management will tighten up on security and lay the law down on riff raff that comes in. We came for zen and peace and was subjected to the most horrible experience ever on all the miles we have travelled cross country.Very very sad.

This is a nice little park, up the mountain from Albuquerque. It offers full hook up as well as dry camping sites and three or four cabins for rent. The RV spots are not all level and it's a bit dusty. But at night ... OMG ... you can actually see the stars!TV reception is non-existent, the bathrooms and showers are clean. They are on water rationing so you only get 5 minutes in the shower (I mean how much more time do you really need)? The camp host is quite personable and pleasant. Eager to please and help out in any way she can. There is a small museum in the office that is interesting as well. This would probably be a little-known great find for anyone wanting to reserve a space for the Albuquerque Hot Air Balloon Festival next year. Better book now, because spaces to rent will fill up fast.

The camp hosts were very friendly and worked with us to find the right spot for our 40 ft Class A RV. There were several long-term residents in the park with older trailers but they did not seem to be a bother. We found a relatively level site but our neighbors were pretty close by. We shared a picnic table area with our neighbor to the passenger side and shared a utility corridor with our neighbor to the driver side. They had recycling near the dumpsters and cabins to rent also. Tent camping was in an area separate from the RV's. You could rent DVD's from the office if you wanted as well. The road into the park was all gravel with lots of dust kicking up as we drove in and out. We stayed a week and got our 7th night free.

We drove several hours to try and find some peace and quite camping for a few days. Instead the camp sites were unfortunately stacked on top of each other resulting in loud and obnoxious neighbors. Here is a little word of advice. Please do not let people check in online and actually check in with you so they're not arriving at 1 AM in the morning! We planned to wake up early this morning to go the Balloon Fiesta but couldn't due to the lack of sleep. Let's not also forget that the "free wifi" was slower than my granny in her walker on a good day.

Came back to stay here after a previous stay a year ago during Covid times. Our visit then was nice and quiet, but some parts of the campground needed some TLC. We just assumed that was Covid related. We were wrong. On the plus side: Autumn in the office was friendly and helpful. Location in the hills is lovely and rural. Gravel spot was level. We enjoyed some nice hiking trails last year (but inadvertently trespassed on a local horse trail.)On the negative side: mix of long-term campers and short-term side by side isn't our favorite; fresh water supply is a hose lying on the ground near the sewer connection, trash dumpsters at the front of the park were overflowing and super stinky. We're not super fancy campers, but we do like a cared-for campground. Turquoise Trail has great potential - maybe things will look better if you choose to stay.

One star only because the site is in a lovely area of New Mexico! Other than that they completely misrepresented themselves on their website! Bathhouses are in very poor repair and their website indicated laundry facilities which there are none! There are no fire pits and was told when checking in that I could not have a fire, only charcoal in the run down grills. Do not reserve a spot at this rv campsite unless you want to be disappointed!
