We upgraded a water heater installation adding a tempering valve and other things.
We replaced the furnace in the crawl space and added air conditioning.

Mr. Nelson Wingerd came out and took a look at a pool boiler that I had been told was not reparable. My regular plumbing contractor had me purchase over $450 in parts and still couldn't get it working. Told me it was a piece of junk. Mr. Wingerd, however, worked on it for about three hours; called around for parts; and got it running beautifully that day! In fact, it runs better than it did when it was first installed by the other plumbing company. I don't have to go out and manually turn off the gas every night. He did a fantastic job and I will call him from now on for upkeep on my pool boiler. In fact, I'm having them give me an estimate on a bathroom remodel right now.

I called to get a kitchen sink installed, I pulled out old sink and job did not require any drilling holes or adding any new lines, was told there was a $149 service fee to come out and give quote for job, he was able to get out next day. I assumed average plumbing rate is about 90-150 dollars an hour, I had gotten previous quotes and both plumbers quoted a 2 to 3 hour time to do job and at the 90-125 hour rate but were not able to get me in for a week. I assumed Town and Country rate would be about same, and he was able to fit me in next day. When he got there, he worked up a quote of $1157.00, to install a kitchen sink. Yes $1157, not a typo. Needless to say I said no thank you that was a ridiculous quote. He proceeded to tell me it was a big job, I took old sink out myself, the only thing he had to do was reseal, connect faucet, dishwasher and drop in sink in. This company is a rip off and way too expensive

This review is regarding Town & Country Plumbing in Albuquerque. I was given an estimate of over $1000.00 to do an excellent job of installing a kitchen faucet. Think they called it their Gold package. Not sure what all was included with this!! If I wanted what they called a 'band aid job" that would only replace the faucet but not fix the leaks the cost would be $446.00. If I also wanted the leaks fixed, it would be $670. I paid the $85.00 estimate fee and then went to Lowe's and bought a faucet for around $70.00 and they have plumbers that can install it 100.00. I did ask Town and Country for a ballpark figure before they came out but said they could not give me one. I told them I was looking for very reasonable prices since I live on SS. Found them on Home Advisor so thought they would be a fair company since Home Advisor really talks about their "True Cost Guide" ! Should have done my research. Lesson learned. The person that showed up to give the estimate was very professional.

Do not, I repeat do not use Town and Country Plumbing and heating! Called several companies to look at my wall heater as the pilot light was on but it would not ignite. Most companies quoted around $100 for a service call and diagnostic. Then if they fixed it they would use the $100 towards-the cost. Town and Country guy came out and looked at it and said it needed to be serviced. Then he quoted me over $500. I can buy a new one for $700. I told him that was way to much. He then charged me $242.72 for his so called diagnostic. I said that's ridiculous! He said well I had to do a lot, I even had to go up on the roof. What a rip off!! I paid his $242.72 and told him his company is a rip off and I will never call him again!

Nelson has done numerous work for us, installed commode, installed water heater, installed swamp cooler, check and winterize cooler and check and starts up furnace. His work quality is top notch, cleans up after himself after each job, very conscientious, very dependable, and always on time. We highly recommend him for any heating and plumbing work.

I feel RIPPED-OFF. For roughly an hour of time and the replacement of a thermocouple, which should be no more than $15 at the most, my bill was $477.75 and it wasn't even itemized. In my opinion, Grossly Overpriced. He never offered an estimate as a general courtesy or explained what was wrong. My mistake, not asking for an estimate first. I just trusting him based on the positive reviews on Home Advisor.

Very unprofessional! I've never left a business review before, but our encounter with Town & Country made our experience with them feel like a SCAM! They are in it to make a buck and do not care that they are taking advantage of a layperson. They came out to check our wall heater that wouldn't ignite. They quoted us over $500 to "service it". The owner said there was also a defective part, but when pressed for further details about it, he was reluctant to give us more information. He ended up charging us $240 for a "diagnostic" because we refused to pay the quoted price. Save your money and steer away from Town & Country Plumbing and Heating!

Had Town & Country Plumbing replace the drain pipes under my kitchen sink. I also requested a separate quote to replace my bathroom sink faucet. For the drain pipes in the kitchen I was quoted $463 + tax wow! Had to get it done right away so I paid it. The quote for the bathroom faucet was $570 and was told he would only charge that being he was already there. I later called another plumbing company for a quote on the bathroom faucet and was told $150 to $175 and they would supply the faucet but it would take a few days before they could come out. Town & Country is way too expensive and suggest you get several quotes. I found out that most plumbing companies can give you a ball park price over the phone for routine projects.

I called the plumber I had used for years to open my swamp cooler to find that he was retired and was referred to Nelson Wingerd owner of Town and Country Plumbing Heating and Cooling. I called Nelson and was told there would be a $149 service call fee which would be waived if he did the work. Nelson came at the agreed upon date and time dressed as if going out to lunch; hooked up the water line which was hanging right next to the faucet; removed the swamp cooler cover and damper; turned on the water, pump, and fan and determined the cooler was indeed functional. He then went to his truck to write up the estimate for the work - to clean out the cooler and replace the aspen pads. The estimate was $491.00!!!!! Yes! $491.00!!!! I told him that I had never paid more than $80 for this service. He said that was the charge especially with the 3 aspen pads (which cost $5 each at any home improvement store). I told him I could not afford $491.00 so he charged me the $149 service call fee and left for his next unwitting customer. At the very least, this is deceptive business practice - giving grossly inflated work estimates and collecting $149 to show up and write said estimate!
