One of the many places within the park to sit and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
A family of geese swimming in formation.
Don't know exactly what type of flower this is but it caught my eye.
One of the numerous ducks. They aren't afraid of humans that for sure.
Corner of Tingley Field Park
3-mile walk/jog. Tingley Park has a kool trail around its perimeter

Our last day in Albuquerque NM and we wanted to enjoy one of the many parks in the city. This park is beautiful and there are actually three large ponds/small lakes in the park. We saw kids fishing, people nature walking, and families having a picnic. You can see the mountains in the distance and the park is very quite and I couldn't here any traffic at all. There were many families with small children and I felt safe here. A nice day trip that is free to the public. My wife liked the park as well as my two teenage boys. Highly recommend this hidden gem.

This is one of the older parks in the city. You would not know that by how well it is kept and the upgrades the city does to it. It is a nice local park for the neighborhood kids to get some exercise. It is also convenient to the zoo so if you don't have picnic there you can find some shade here to have one.

Tingly Field Park has been around for years and years. I remember being a child and going to birthday parties in the park and playing on the playground. This park is located directly across from the Rio Grande Zoo which is a perfect spot in the downtown area. You can enjoy a baseball game and hear the animals roaring in the background. The new playground is shaded and there is a nice walking trail around the park. If you are looking for parks in the Downtown/Barelas area this is a perfect park for tons of fun!

The Good: Two baseball diamonds/fields, very well maintained, plenty of seating for visitors; this is one of the best places to enjoy a day or night at the park in ABQ if you play or cheer. Plenty of parking. Huge playground supports kids of all sizes, with the usual slides and swings, plus a few interesting structures for those who prefer to imitate monkeys. Total shade coverage; one of the only spots in the metro area which is good year-round. Wood chips. Bonus: Intermittent animal noises from the zoo, such as giraffe and howler monkey, pepper the soundscape. The Bad: Not much to complain about here. The occasional teenager can be spotted being truant/breaking the law/doing what I did when I was that age. Bonus: Intermittent animal methane wafting through the air. The adjacent school can crowd the area at times. Here's one: your kid doesn't want to be here. There's a freaking zoo across the street. Duh.The Verdict: This is a really nice resource that showcases Barelas and the city itself. The covered picnic area is a terrific spot to throw a mid-summer birthday party or get together. Check it out, for sure.
