I ate here 2x and had drinks & guacamole one other time. 1st time here: I had a martini and it was perfect! My daughter had a mixed drink and she really enjoyed it. The highlight of the night... table side made guacamole! Oh my goodness. It was spot on! 2nd time- dinner before a concert and this place was PACKED and the servers were running their butts off. I had a salad and steak dinner. It was a HUGE serving! The highlight was my server, Mikey. Mikey made sure my water was full and checked on me often. If you have Mikey as your server you will be well cared for. 3rd time- I sat at the bar and had a martini ( again perfectly made) and the salmon thunder salad. I loved this salad so much that I dreamt of the dressing and am on a quest to duplicate it. Sometimes they have live music above/ behind the bar. The one night it was a great one man band and it was a good time.

Nice sit down restaurant and bar inside the Route 66 casino. Went in for breakfast, staff was very friendly and attentive. Food is well done, good quality ingredients, reasonably priced.

I'll start by saying, if you have a large party it's always best to make a reservation here or be prepared to wait!Well decorated steakhouse inside of Route 66 Casino! Brought my mom and aunt here for the Mother's Day brunch and we really enjoyed! There was a mimosa special that was very yummy and my favorite plate any time of day are the birria tacos! Smaller portion than some of their other plates but perfect size for me!One less star because the service can be slow at times... no reflection of the staff, they're just short staffed and my mom isn't always the most patient, lol...

The better choice if you plan on dining or even just having drinks at the casino. Had beers at the sports bar and this place is so much better. Beer is served in an iced glass and it's cold. My date had their margarita and she enjoyed very much as well. We mainly came here for their Prime Rib dinner. We opted for their mashed potatoes rather than a baked potato and so glad we did. It had some heat in it and that's the way I like it.The dining experience was great. They had Thursday night football on several TVs. Also, our waiter was on point. He understood we wanted to have drinks before ordering dinner. I appreciate that we weren't rushed and that we took our time.* AddendumWe had a great experience for dinner that we decided to grab breakfast here before hitting the road. My date had the Breakfast Enchiladas that had a great hit of chili heat. So good! I myself ordered the Hungry Cowboy or shall I say I was the Hungry Cowboy. Our waiter was very nice and kept our coffee mugs full.

Yabba dabba doo! Hold on tight, folks, because Thunder Road Steakhouse & Cantina is about to take your taste buds on a thrilling culinary journey! Situated inside the Route 66 Casino Hotel, this place is a foodie's paradise. Let me share my exciting experience from my recent visit to this one-of-a-kind eatery.First things first, we were staying at the Route 66 Casino Hotel RV Resort and decided to pay a visit to Thunder Road. From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for a treat. The staff was friendly and seated us promptly, setting the stage for an amazing dining adventure. To kick off our feast, we couldn't resist ordering the tableside guacamole. And boy, did Thunder Road deliver! A skilled cook came out to our table and prepared the guacamole to our exact preferences. From the number of limes to the choice of ingredients like tomatoes and garlic, our guacamole was customized to perfection. It was a bit on the chunky side, but if you prefer a smoother texture, I'm sure they'd be happy to oblige. Our little ones were thrilled to find that even though there wasn't a dedicated kids' menu, they could order sides. The baked mac and cheese and french fries were a hit, and the portions were generous enough to keep them satisfied. Now, let's talk about the main courses. My wife opted for the steak and shrimp meal, accompanied by collard greens and a loaded baked sweet potato. She also indulged in a delightful cocktail (although there was a minor mix-up, which was swiftly rectified). Each bite of her meal was a symphony of flavors that left her taste buds dancing. The steak was cooked to perfection, the shrimp were succulent, and the loaded sweet potato was a sweet and savory delight. As for me, I had my eyes set on the Cowboy Beef Rib. Brace yourselves because this thing was colossal! The description promised one bone, but when the dish arrived, it felt like I had just unearthed a brontosaurus bone. It was a sight to behold, and I had enough to share with my ravenous 10-year-old. It was a carnivore's dream come true, and we devoured every juicy, tender bite. Now, let's address the only small wrinkle in our culinary adventure: the collard greens. Maybe it's our Floridian palates, but the greens didn't quite match our expectations. However, it's a minor blip in an otherwise fantastic dining experience.I won't sugarcoat it--the prices at Thunder Road Steakhouse Cantina aren't cheap. But let me tell you, my friends, it's worth every penny. The quality, flavors, and portion sizes are a testament to their commitment to culinary excellence. So, if you're ready for a wild ride of flavors that will make your taste buds scream with joy, head on over to Thunder Road Steakhouse Cantina inside the Route 66 Casino Hotel. Buckle up, and get ready for a dining experience that will leave you shouting, "Yabba dabba doo, it was huge!"

This was our third visit as we travel through Albuquerque every year. I was looking forward to their Hatch Chile Beans after tasting them last year. And boy were they good!!! "Worth the price of admission"! I ordered the rib eye steak with a baked potato and the beans. The steak was prepared perfectly medium rare as ordered, nice and tender as well as being juicy. Of course it was way too big so I boxed up half the steak, most of the potato and the beans so I'd have supper the next night as we travel. Our server was very good, efficient and friendly. We definitely will be back on our return trip thru town.

We ate at the Thunder Road steakhouse with some out of state friends in October. We split the prime rib and our friends had fajitas. Everything was delicious and service was prompt. Good margaritas also. Prices are reasonable. Gets our recommendation for a nice dining experience. Barb O, Tijeras, NM

Our server was great but the food was inedible! I ordered the pot roast and it was so over cooked I wondered if it was prepared last week and warmed up. My husband ordered ribs and he couldn't eat them ! So sad and no manager to talk to.

Servers are sweet but young and inexperienced. Steak was rare when ordered well done. It was taken back to cook again and came back burnt. Definitely not a fan of this place....

Steak is pretty good, the ambience is great with live music. The service is terrible from the beginning to end. I was not part of the VIP program according to the hostess so I stood by as other people were seated. They wanted me to sit at the bar. That is not what I went for. The steak was good and tender. I was prided a butter knife to cut it with so that worked out. It is about 18 miles west of Albuquerque so I hessite to go there on a whim. Maybe do my weekly Steak in the city.
