"I met Matthew through Trulia.com after inquiring about a four-plex. I was new to investing and didn't really have a full grasp of the market. Matthew promptly arranged a viewing of the property. Then, he spent time assessing my situation; from there, he helped me to navigate the market from a more complex business standpoint and on terms that would behoove me in the short and long run. I, now, think much more like an investor. While Matthew could have easily sold me the money-pit I was initially interested in, he spent many months patiently showing me various properties. He was quick to determine strengths and weaknesses of the property to make sure it would be something I would be happy to own in the long term. He also spent a great deal of time running financial reports and helping me to formulate a financial plan for the investment over the long haul. By the time I found my "it" property, I felt reasonably secure in the decision that it was the right property for me. Thankfully, he did not try to sell me a few places I had been interested in; looking back, I now realize he saved me from more than a few potential disasters. When I finally found a property that made sense (right location, price, features, etc.), he still arduously and methodically went through appraisals, inspections and estimates. Then, he gracefully bargained down the price by $22,000 with the sellers paying 1% of the closing. This was a great surprise as the sellers were originally unwilling to reduce the price by even $8,000. Suffice to say, if you want a realtor who will wholly act on your interests but still always approach each stakeholder with respect and diplomacy, he's your agent. I feel lucky to have had him on my team and I look forward to working with Matthew in the future on investments!
