I contacted Thompson's to have them turn off my air conditioner and start up my heater. I have never used them before so this was my first time working with them. The administrative assistant who answers the phone is incredible. She is super friendly, will help you figure out a time to schedule your service, and does it all with a pleasant and professional attitude. I haven't had this kind of customer service in a really long time and it's greatly appreciated.Prem came out to perform the service and to give me a quote on a small job that I have. He was professional, courteous, and helpful. He really talked me through an issue I'm having with my heating and cooling and gave me some different ideas for what might work best. Again, I haven't had this level of customer service in a really long time. Although he is not generally one of the people who does the start up and shutdowns, he jumped in because they are busy at this time of year. Teamwork! Wahoo!I was really pleased when I got the bill for the service which was a lot less than what I've been paying. Granted I did get a rebate because they did a check on my gas to make sure that everything is working properly and safely. So next time it'll be around what I'm used to paying. At any rate, none of the other plumbing companies with whom I've worked have offered to check my gas and get the rebate so I really appreciate it that Thompson's was looking out for me.I will definitely be using Thompson's again and I've already spoken with them about some issues we will be addressing in the spring. I highly recommend Thompson's. You will be guaranteed excellent customer service and a good value.

Thompson put in our original AC, and when it was time to replace it we did an intergalactic search, but they were the lowest bid, with no BS. They had it done on schedule with friendly guys - and no BS.This week I had a problem, six years after that install. It was a part - still under warranty - and they came out and got it replaced in just hours. With no BS. What a pleasure.

I'm a retired home owner in Spartanburg and recently made an appointment with Thompson to repair my HVAC system. They arrived the next morning right on time. The Thompson technicians promptly went to work diagnosing the issue. I was pleased with their knowledge & professionalism. They took the time to explain details of what their diagnose discovered. I highly recommend Thompson.

Called them as our home AC went out. They came out the next day promptly. A capacitor went out. They had to go and get one as they didn't have the exact size. Came back, installed the part and now it works. I was happy with the price.

Just bought a home and wanted to switch to refrigerated air from a swamp cooler. The technicians that came in, right off the bat, said that this home was going to be way too expensive for me to switch considering how big the home is. I found that really insulting. They never asked me what my budget was so how do they know I can't afford this? Why would you assume I don't have the money to do this? I didn't just wake up one day and said I want refrigerated air. Of course I know that it's expensive and did my research. They didn't even scan around the home and look at the vents and how the units can be set up. The technician also said he would send me an estimate of the conversion but he never did. I am not sure what made me look like I was too poor for them but I am glad they didn't want to help me because I found another company that is AMAZING. They were able to convert my home with no issues. I highly don't recommend using them unless you look rich I guess...

Update review: After posting my initial review, I received a phone call from the owner, who was very apologetic about the service I had received. He took the time to explain the circumstances that led to the situation, and we were able to reach a satisfactory agreement. It was reassuring to hear directly from the owner, and I appreciate the effort to make amends.Furthermore, the work performed--specifically gutter installation and reworking--was completed with what looks to be quality craftsmanship. The results met my expectations, and I am pleased with the quality of the work. Overall, I feel that the issue was resolved, and I am satisfied with the outcome.

Installed a large 3 unit with 7 separate modular heads of LG modular heat pumps- 28k dollars.Units in kitchen kept failing due to installation drainage issues. Then within 1 year leaks in 2 other units. Probably would use someone else to source and install units in retrospect. Even had to replace a head unit at about $3k within 3 years. Not a good record- go with someone else

Right around the winter holidays my heater seriously malfunctioned and it was Thompson that really fixed it after having a pretty bad experience with another HVAC company. In comparison, the Technician from Thompson arrived at my home and had it working in less than an hour then came back as promised with another part that it needed and explained everything to me. I will use them again.

They did the gutters on our old house on the Westside, and now our new house in the Northeast Heights...Eric the owner, is professional and knows his stuff!! I was told to get at least 3 estimates which I did for installing a new A/C system in my home in New Mexico. The final bid was from Thompson, which did not include any electrical hook ups, what so ever. In their email to me they recommended I call an electrician. I called and they said it could be up to another $1000.00. I decided not to go with them because it was a incomplete estimate.I was kind enough to email Thompson back thanking them for their time, but declined their proposal and selected another candidate. I then received the following email response back.They responded :Understandable. Lets hope they install this equipment better than the furnace was done! You don't always get what you paid for. Cheap labor isn't skilled, and skilled labor isn't cheap. Best regards.I have no doubt in my mind that this is a good company, but I was totally shocked how UNPROFFESIONAL that email was. I am so happy I went with another company who has been in business almost as long as Thompson. Their quote included everything from the electrical and them calling the city for an inspector to come out when the job is complete.Good luck everyone. Hope you don't have to go thru what I did!
