If you are going out for a drink, the place might be an adequate destination. It's on a corner that's not particularly attractive and it was completely empty--I mean, really empty, on a Friday night. Tt's the deadest of dead seasons--but still. in other words, the drinks here are good and about the (over)-price you would expect from this part of town. The service was fine. Friendly and efficient. So why the low rating? Unfortunately, I like to have something to nibble on while I'm imbibing. Well, we didn't order much (thankfully), only the nachos. But I am not exaggerating when I say these were the worst nachos I've ever eaten. How can you do this to something so basic. For starters, the portion size was a handful of chips (this was served on a dinner plate, so I'm not kidding about the size). Chips are cheap and you charge $14 for this, so give a decent portion. It'll make the customer happy and will only cost you a few more cents. Then, here's where it starts to get weird, there was un-melted cheese on top (???) and then the chips were swimming in what they are calling queso but is actually something the consistency and color of the juice you find in the bottom of your garbage can grey-white and watery. The result was that the chips were completely soggy, with nothing bringing flavor to the mess. I am not joking when I say that I would rather eat stadium nachos with cheese whiz than this--and I hate cheese whiz. Nachos are easy. Don't get fancy. Chips, topped with salsa (pico, verde, whatever), jalapenos, and if you want to get fancy, black beans. You then cover it nicely in shredded cheese (want to get really sophisticated mix jack with cotija), throw this quickly under the broiler so the cheese melts nicely, and then top that with sour cream (and ideally, guacamole). Not complicated, not fancy, low food cost (unless you add the guac) and perfect bar food. Didn't have anything else but with a menu this relatively simple, everything should be coming out of the kitchen tasting good. This did not.

Funky, Cool, and One-of-a-Kind -- The Taproom at Old Town! The Taproom at Old Town is such a fun and funky spot! Their menu has its own unique vibe, offering something refreshingly different from the traditional Spanish food you typically find around Old Town -- and I love that. Also the outdoor patio with bands are really rad.The drinks are top-notch, and they've got a great selection of beer on tap. The customer service is just as impressive! Even when it's busy, the staff stays transparent about wait times, which I really appreciate. Fast, friendly service and a cool atmosphere make this place a must-visit. Can't wait to come back for more!

Back in the day, I found myself at The Taproom at Old Town often. They have great cocktails, always strong, and they used to have really amazing food. I don't know exactly what happened but the departure of Kitsune is a huge loss.Their kitchen has changed, a completely new food menu, and very different vibe overall. I ordered the chicken sandwich and it was burnt to hell. I rarely rarely send food back, but I just couldn't with this. They were very kind and did comp the meal. Overall though the experience has me mourning Kitsune even more.I want to say that the service was absolutely great. She was very sweet. I love the space and it's definitely one of the better late night options when you are in old town.

We stumbled on the Taproom while walking around Old Town. As serious cocktail foodies, I have to really say this place has a GREAT and creative cocktail program! My drink was a tad sweet for me but the flavors were so great I don't care! I had the rosemary sour and it was frothy and delicious! My husband had the rum old fashioned and said it was a solid choice - very distinct! We split some bbq chicken lollipops that were expertly cooked, but for me (I'm weird), the star was the pickled vegetables. Seriously - I love some good pickled vegetables! We came in before 7pm on a Friday night and when we left it was crazy busy with live entertainment and some feisty patrons!Great ambiance with the party starting around 7:30!

We enjoyed watching the Honky Tonk Juke Box at the taproom. They have a small outside area which is quite nice to enjoy bands. We had a margarita which was delicious! They have some beers which my husband and I had the last time we were here and enjoyed but their selection changes often. We didn't try the food but they have someone new providing food; it's no longer the Asian fusion food which was supposed to have been great. We will definitely be back but it would be nice if the taproom would show upcoming entertainment on their website; it seems a bit hit and miss when entertainment is there and not an easy way to find out.

Yummmm Yummmm Yummmm! Boy is this place amazing and a great place to hang out in OLD TOWN! Their food is eclectic and like no other... which is what makes it so special. Every bite is flavorful and definitely delightful. As I sit here in their patio enjoying my Manhattan I am definitely enjoying the weather, music, and their hospitality. I enjoy my Manhattan with bourbon and was surprised at the delish add of gin instead of bourbon the fries!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get them! I highly recommend this sweet little untapped gem!

The taproom at old town has new food there. No longer the Asian fusion but instead, craft kitchen. We visited for brunch last Sunday. The brunch menu has six or seven items to choose from. We shared the carve adovada breakfast burrito with Christmas chile and the Sugar Daddy banana French toast. Both dishes were amazing. The French toast was made with freshly made banana bread with pecans thick sliced with a nice egg batter and then toasted perfectly. Topped off with caramelized bananas and soft whipped cream. Served with eggs cooked your way and hash browns made with hand grated potatoes that were nicely browned. I asked for hot sauce and chef bought out his house seasoning as well as a side of red and green Chile. Both chiles were good but the extra hot of house spices took it over the top. The carne adovada burrito was loaded with tender meat, eggs and hashrowns. The burrito was toasted on the grill and then served with the red and green Chile. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will be back. My only recommendation is when we walked in, it smelled pretty strongly of pine sol or some other cleaner. It seemed to dissipate while we were there. The patio looks really nice and will be a great space to hang when the weather is a hot warmer. Can't wait to go back for dinner.

Music great. Homemade chips burnt tasting, should have sent them back! Steak so salty you could not even enjoy it. It's sad when you're spending good money on food and you get awful tasting food. Then the waiter still expect a great tip but really when you're wasting 50 bucks to feed yourself and you're feeling like it's better to go buy some groceries then waste your money on one plate of food and an appetizer, very disappointing!!
