The Retreat At Candelaria

Do not live here I repeat. I have lived here for about 3 years now and it's complete HELL! I finally got out of this place. BUT there was Hardly no running warm/hot water. The A/C is always broken or their maintenance people have to always come in and "fix" something. My water in my bathroom is running causing water damage and making the whole apartment humid and Mal Dewey to the point where it was insane. Called the office multiple times for them to come fix it and their attempt to fix it was a quick and short period solution before the same thing happen. The people in the office are horrible! No direction, no communication and the guy Toni needs some serious re training in costumer service and money handling. They have lost not only my rent but my neighbors rent as well. This is unacceptable and not professional at all! The whole office needs some checking because there are some shady individuals who work in that office. They complain about how they won't deal with angry tents who have A RIGHT to be angry, but expect us to tolerate their abuse and the conditions of what they are offering their tenants??? How is that fair?? I. Glad to have moved out of this place.

Worst and I mean WORST apartment complex I've ever stayed in. I can't even begin to try to list all the b ullshit I went through living here. Within a 6 month lease the water has been shut off at least 9 times and half without notification. When the water returned its stayed brown for hour and hours. Basically gallons and gallons of water wasted, and guess who's getting charged for a large water bill?They have knowingly rented out apartments that have issues with the water pipes and have to shut them off several times. In their emails they claim its the city's responsibility but they should be transparent BEFORE a potential tenant signs anything. Maybe offer a discount? Then no one can complain. This is the mild description of what goes on here. I think its also worthy to mention that when I got the keys and moved in on DAY 1 there were leaves all over the carpet (which has terrible bleach stains) and there was URINE in the toilet. The workers who "fixed it up" didn't even clean up after themselves and I had to request the office to shampoo the carpet so I could actually move it.There's so much more I could write but why....you just shouldn't move in here. Seriously.

We worked with one of their agents and had a unit on hold. We asked if we needed to put down a deposit to hold it and were told we would be fine to bring it in the next day. I called twice and left two messages asking them to call me back. No call back. So, we show up with our money order and completed applications and paperwork to find someone else took the place. I understand that apartments are always first come first serve, but I don't understand telling us not to worry when clearly we should have. Also, not returning calls is a bad sign about how issues will be handled in the future. When I asked why no one returned my call (there were three rental agents) she told me they had been really busy. I looked around at the empty office, two agents killing time, and realized I was getting a line of BS. We dodged a bullet despite the headache.

I have lived here a couple of months and really don't understand the bad reviews. The staff is very nice and helpful. Maintenance responds quickly and the grounds are beautiful. It's like a little town here, in all the best ways. My apartment is plain Jane; but roomy. I've lived in complexes that were twice as expensive and this is by far my favourite.

Don't live here the amenities aren't great hot water fluctuates from scorching hot to icy cold. When moving out the complex will do whatever to keep you deposit regardless of how well you left the apartment. even if it was in better condition then you received it , I left the apartment in better order than when I received it. There most be alot of dispute regarding their process since the letter only states to call if your address is wrong not if you are have any disputes regarding the charges. I have pictures and receipts were I know some ideas that are listed are on the break down are inaccurate.

Current resident unfortunately. Hoping to break my lease soon or if I can put up with this place until my lease ends then I'm out. Hardly ever have hot water after 8pm. Frequent water shut offs nearly every week. Sometimes there is no hot water when they turn it back on. The gates are not locked so anyone can come on property. Vehicle theft in this area is high. In the last couple months bait cars have had to be placed here. Walls are thin so you can hear neighbors. Tenants are allowed to smoke inside their apartments. The vents are shared so you can smell it all and the leasing office will not do anything about it. AC and heating is usually out or not functioning when you need them during the hot summer or cold winter. Mail boxes are broken into and the on-site laundry facilities are not well maintained. Lucky if you have a working washer and dryer. Infestation problems with roaches. The list goes on and on just read their reviews on other sites. Just don't move here.

They spend more time on making their grounds look nice than providing services to their residents. They shut the water off for up to 7 hours a day 3 days a week... In the lease they promised me working equipment like a dishwasher or oven, locks on the patio, but it's all been broken. I can guarantee they will take the "damages" out of all of my $600 security deposit after I leave. I didn't damage anything but moved into this shitI walked into the porch and made the mistake of closing the door all the way, I was locked outside until I pulled the door forcefully enough that I thankfully got inside. I'm on the second floor so unless I jumped 30 feet and broke my face, I'd be trapped. It was like that since I moved in.GREG'S TOWING: (the company they contract with). they will tow your car for any and every reason. I was driving doordash and forgot my seizure medication, ran inside to grab the bottle and went to the bathroom. After 3 minutes they had my car on their truck and refused to let me take it back. (They were in the parking lot already)One time they towed my car for $200, because I parked outside of the white lines when there were no cars around You don't get a choice of when your air conditioning is working. They turn it on when it's like 90 degrees outside, even then it still doesn't work.If you enjoy semi warm showers, you're screwed. There's only random times of the day where the warm or hot even works. If you want to clean yourself off and wash yourself off after a stressful day, it's going to be a cold shower and it will hurt. Good luckThey call this place The Retreat?? The irony...It's hell but I hate moving. So I guess I'm at fault

This place states they have a lit if amenities but the gyms are storage closets, the laundry rooms are dirty, the pool is black and disgusting, the A/C's are always broken. You rarely get a good shower, it's either luke warm or third degree burns.. The jacuzzi has been covered in concrete and last but certainly not least, the staff are so rude and think of themselves as perfect and will not admit a mistake. The only reason it gets 1 star is because it is dog friendly. DO NOT MAKE THIS YOUR HOME.

We left and were living in our cars. That's how bad it was. I would rather be homeless than live at this apartment complex. They didn't let us see the place till we moved in and from the first day it was infested with all different kinds of roaches. They never came to spray, no matter how many times we asked. Water was turned off at least twice a week. Our AC unit didn't work for the whole summer and even after but we didn't need it during winter. There was a leak in the bathroom sink, mold growing everywhere in the bathroom. We got a third of our deposit back and it still hasn't come in the mail 4 months later. I'm not going to list all the other little things, because it's far too long, but just the major things above should tell you to avoid this place at all costs. Disgusting, rude, horrible neighborhood, harmful to my mental health. I never want to even think of them again.

Horrible horrible staff always rude with an attitude. Can never get a specific answer for nothing. The water is shut off constantly more than 2-3 times a week for hours at a time. Lived there for about 2 years and was always getting the run around on maintenance or they just never came Very dirty and not a safe parking lot. My car got broken into twice! Low in price yeah sure but it's not worth it.
