Very good food with great services. They give us 2 extra side dishes so we can try out the bean, which we didn't order. The food comes out very fast.Don't forget to ask for the complimentary fried dough dessert. It's super fresh and delicious.

If you're in Albuquerque, Cocina Azul (Original Location) is an absolute must-visit! From the moment we arrived, everything about this place exceeded expectations. There's plenty of parking on the side and back of the building. Once inside, the restaurant gives off a warm, homey New Mexico vibe. We waited briefly at the front before being seated by the staff. We started with the green chile stew, which had the perfect balance of heat and flavor, with chile, tender potatoes, and well-seasoned and meat that fell apart. Next came the brisket chile relleno smothered in green chile--truly life-changing. If you order only one thing here, make it this dish!Because there was a slight wait, our server graciously comped a chips, salsa, green sauce, and queso appetizer, which was a fantastic touch. The salsa had great flavor, and the queso was smooth and flavorful. To top off the meal, the staff brought out fresh and hot sopapillas, and trust me, you must try them with honey. It's the perfect way to end an unforgettable meal.Cocina Azul is everything you'd hope for in a classic New Mexican restaurant--friendly service, incredible food, and a welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're a local or just passing through, do yourself a favor and eat here. It just might change your life.

Everything was DELICIOUS!! After a long day and flight in, we needed to find ANYTHING open in town (as most close at 5PM). So glad we stopped by! Just a casual New Mexican style cocina vibe. The two servers working were literally magic. They did not stop for one second- inviting people to sit and like a carefully curated orchestra, checked in with everyone, and were just great!! Food was soo good- huge portion, cheesy, delicious. It was our first NM meal. Wish we lived here so we could eat there again!

For my first meal in New Mexico, my coworker and I came here for an early dinner (still on east coast time!) but it was actually pretty busy inside. We started with the chile con queso which was super good - we also tried the salsas. I had the carne adovada burrito with both red and green chile and calabacitas and beans. It was delicious! A perfect amount of spice and the meat in the burrito was tender and well seasoned. My coworker had the ribeye burrito and really enjoyed it as well. The complimentary sopapillas with honey were the perfect finish. So glad we enjoyed for dinner!

I live in Los Angeles, and for some reason, to the best of my knowledge, there is no New Mexico cuisine here, and let me tell you, there's nothing like it. When in Albuquerque, if you want to get a taste of authentic NM cuisine, set your GPS for the Original Cocina Azul Mountain. The first thing you need to do is order some sopapillas. You can't find them in LA. Put a little honey on them or eat them as they are. They'll melt in your mouth. If you aren't familiar with New Mexico food, order a NM plate to give your tongue a nice tour of food awesomeness. There's so much to choose from and you'll have fun trying as much as your tummy can hold. Not only that, the prices are very reasonable. The staff is awesome, the food is too! Parking is plentiful and easy. This is a must-do if you're ever in Albuquerque. It baffles me why NM cuisine isn't more well-known.

This was the last dinner spot on our way out of New Mexico for a weekend, and it blew everything else my family and I had tried out of the water. Both the red and green chilis had the most flavor of any we'd encountered, the portions were terrifically generous, and the brisket was tender and delicious. Our server was kind and very helpful in understanding the menu options. We didn't have to wait long for our food and there are a surprising amount of seats available beyond what's noticeable from the street!

I was in town for business and Cocina Azul came highly recommended from local team mates. I can say 100% the best food I have ever had on any trip to Albuquerque. I had the Carne Adovado burrito smothered in green chili and it was absolutely amazing. Our server AJ was amazing as well, he made excellent recommendations and was right there any time we needed something. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for great food in a great atmosphere.

Really good food. Very tasty. Excellent service. This is definitely a locals place, but also plenty of tourists. Prices are very reasonable, with plenty of food.Very different options for sides. Awesome. The posole was really good. Beens also very tasty, and still had some body. The carne plate came with a huge mound of pork. Tasty, spicy. Yum. Do wish that it had come with another tortilla or two.Large margaritas were large, but both weak and sweet. Wouldn't recommend.Great place for some New Mexican food that isn't your run-of-the-mill. Get your drink elsewhere.

We have been to the downtown location many times and I always walk away thinking how there are so few places that have service that good anymore. Tip culture is over the top these days but these guys deserve 25% every time! Oh and the food is well worth making this a go to place for traditional Mexican!! Delish!
