Stopped in for coffee and then decided to have a quick little something to eat. They just opened yet they were very accommodating and friendly. Food was fantastic and no real complaints for the small town place! The place is clean and I really have no disparaging remarks about the place at all. You definitely get a hometown feel here! Check it out if passing through or make the ride/drive out to Estancia and have some home cooked food.

I came in for a late lunch and was not disappointed. Got The Trailblazer, a big ol' char-broiled hamburger patty next to a plate of crispy fries, all smothered in very delicious green and red (from pods!) chile _and_ cheese. Piping hot, too - you know how sometimes they warn you the plate might be hot? This one was a branding iron. Yum. Wow, and at a reasonable price, too. Great service and great food at a reasonable price - it's worth the drive to The Old Mill in Estancia.

Good food, quiet location. Lighting is fluorescent, which isn't great, but otherwise it's got an awesome repurposed-mill vibe going on. It's not too busy and the food is good and comes in large portions so it is a great spot to write and study. Service was a little lacking, but overall it was a good spot to stop for lunch and a much-needed break from the bright sun.

Hungry for some local food, I started looking up nearby eateries. Since being in New Mexico now for several days, we still haven't had anything "green chili" on this trip. And, I was on a mission!Well, I found a little spot in Estancia, NM, (population just under 1600), that had photos of all of sorts of dishes containing green chilies. So, we drove close to 20 miles out of the way for lunch! Why? Every review about the food ranged from good to the best (except for the one guy that said "just okay")! 4.5stars on the reviews. That's great! So, with my stomach growling, we made our way to the Old Mill Restaurant. Instead of the proverbial plate of food photos, I decided that the well worn dining chair was more appropriate. These chairs have held thousands upon thousands of diners over the years - probably decades. And I'd venture to say that all of them - well, except for those prickly curmudgeons, or high-strung "Karens", enjoyed their meals here. The depth of flavor was definitely there. And the food was hot. Not lukewarm or kept under a light forever. Hot. Steaming hot. What we had, doesn't really matter. But what we experienced does. There wasn't one thing that stood out; but several. Kind people. Feeling welcomed. Delectable foods. And, that "local" vibe that we search out. We didn't get that sideways glance. You know, the look locals give an outsider. Nothing but smiles, and friendly faces. I did add a pic of my sopapilla and honey... it's one of those items that I will always order if it's on the menu; sort of like when I always order chicken fried steak for breakfast at diners. And although our meals were truly delicious, this really was not the best sopapilla that I've had; a bit thin and under done. No worries. No complaints. Just an observation. And guess what? I ate every last crumb of it. I can't even deduct a star because of it..I'm grateful it was an offering. I am so happy to have found this restaurant. And will remember it as one of those moments, where time stood still, and everything was good, and normal, for a bit...

Nice place to dine. I ordered the Navajo Taco. It was tasty, but something was missing- oh yes, the meat. It was served on a sopapilla, with beans, avocado, and garnish. No meat- or, if there was, it was such a tiny little bit it was lost in the beans and avocado. It tasted ok, but was not at all what we know to be a Navajo Taco. Nice atmosphere, friendly service. Next time I stop, I think I will stick to the burgers-

As a flyer, I wanted to get a review in here (Yelp) so y'all know this place still exists! We flew into the gravel strip on the east side of town where it was an easy stroll to The Old Mill. We had the standard fare -- green chile cheeseburgers and fries that were wolfed down before a topping could fall out onto the plate. The topper was a homemade Butterfingers pie for dessert. Were we worried about gross weight for takeoff? There was a patio in front with fireplace and lights strung along the ceiling ... I wonder if this place gets hopping in the evenings?By the way, I noticed there's a "Old Mill Market" listed with the same address, but the location for this "102 W. Joseph Ave." is correct.

They must and you should never hire family to help. It causes too much heart ache. Recently changed ownership. Less items, but they are unable to keep orders straight. Unfortunately, the will not have items on the menu. Probably because of supplier requirements. Cisco foods. So you know immediately you will be over charged. Service isn't very good, the young girls are very rude and care mire about they're cell phone than attending to you. Check your too go order, 50/50 you get what you asked for. You will definitely get better service in Moriarty, just a 10 minute drive. But of course you are one who is a skeptic. Go ahead, I know and you will know after your experience here. If it's goid ,sure let them know, but please help us locally by letting them know it wasn't very good ,especially the price they charge for a bland meal. I know you won't get carne adovada...they never have it. Good luck!
