The Montebello on Academy

Please do not use their rehab center! My uncle was there for just a couple of weeks and they treated him horribly! Nobody filled up his water pitcher beside his wife who visited as often as she could, the food was terrible and on top of everything he was mistreated. He had blue marks all over his back. My uncle had to be readmitted to the hospital for severe dehydration. I don't understand that people who don't give a damn about our elderly work in a facility like this.

Great rehab for our mother.I did research on places to help her after a hospital stay. I could't believethe gross negligence of Alb. Senior centers/rehab facilities. Shameful. Thank goodness she was excepted to Montebello. First class staff. She said she will miss them very much. Said the food was very good most of the time. Wanted to know if they grubhub? We were so pleased that she was taken care of and wanted anyone who is looking for a place... this one is it. The only person, whom was nice, but not very responsive & dropped the ball was the social worker. We would take our loved ones there anytime.

When we initially saw this place we were impressed with how beautiful the facility is and we were excited for my dad to get his rehab done here. His health did improve, but there were only a few staff members that really engaged with him. For the most part they relied on the family to come in and make sure he was comfortable. We ended up bringing in our own drinks and food a lot to make my dad happy, and had to be there daily. We washed his clothes, and were on call 24 hours to make sure he did not get too anxious. The nursing staff is competent, and his PT worked wonders. The social worker is completely unreliable. We had to call upwards of 6 times a day to get a hold of her, or try to catch her in the hall when we were there. This made getting things done extremely frustrating.

As a healthcare professional and family caregiver, I wish I would have had the opportunity to share this 5-star rated community with my own family members.

I beg you not to leave your loved one in the care of The Montebello on Academy. They are severely understaffed and the staff that they do manage to maintain is rude and extremely unknowledgeable and unprofessional. The resident Doctor and Nurses are not fit to be in charge of anyone's care. My mother became a skilled nursing resident of the Montebello on Academy in December of 2012 and was dead within 7 months as a direct result of the neglect that she suffered via the staff at this facility. I won't ever have my Mom back but it's not too late for you to find better care for your loved one. The Montebello on Academy doesn't deserve any stars and it makes me sick to know I had to give them even 1 to get this message out to people who's loved ones deserve better care than the Montebello on Academy has to offer.

I recently went to an open house here and it is just beautiful! I don't know how their price compares to other but it has a nice campus.
