Bait and switch, rude, unprofessional, disorganized. I got a quote of $10.50 per lock for my rental house. I had two doors with two locks on each. I specifically asked if they charged a service fee and a young man named Vincent said no, they do not. So I made an appointment for the next day. He said they would be out between 1 and 3 pm. I called at 2:30 to let them know I was there and my phone was dying, so just wanted to make sure they knew I was there in case they tried calling. Without hesitation, Leon (the owner) said they were in the area and I was probably next. At 2:48, I apparently missed a call. At 3:15, I noticed the missed call and called back where the owner said "they've been trying to reach you to see if you still want the service". I told him yes, they don't need to call, just come. I then called the technician and he asked for my address again and said he was 8 minutes away and needed about 10 more minutes and would be there. An hour passed, when he finally got there he said he was held up on the freeway. No biggie, he spent about half and hour rekeying 4 locks and then called the boss who told him to charge me $125. I said oh no, that's not the price I was quoted on the phone. He said, oh then I'm going to have to take the locks out and "I'm off the clock at this point". I told him to call "the boss" again and he proceeded to tell me that they always charge a service charge of $25., that I didn't know what I was talking about, I was putting words in his mouth. It was bizaare! They finally agreed that I would pay $70 cash, but not before they gave me a dressing down about taking advantage of them, no, they didn't take checks, they always charge a service fee, I must have not been listening, etc. The technician followed me to the bank, where I took out $80 and said, I need a receipt sir. He said "no receipt for cash, I'm going to have to charge you tax". I said I'm giving you $80, keep the change, I need a receipt, which he begrudgingly filled out. Today when I called and spoke to Leon to get a resolution to this, he talked right over me, said they charge a $45 service fee (it was $25 yesterday), that Daniel should have just taken the locks and put them back to their original form (which made no sense after he had to tell me what he pays him and how people take advantage of them) and they don't want customers like me, so don't ever call his office again. He asked what I want, and I said a refund of $30 which is what I feel I was overcharged based on the original quote. He said come to the Albuquerque office and I'll just give you all your money back, come to the Los Lunas office at 8:00 am and I'll give you your $30, etc. He was all over the place, alternately mocking me and also just "done with this". Almost like he was fighting with his spouse. I noticed another lady had the same problem last year and feel this company takes advantage of older women.

Outstanding same day service not to mention phenomenal customer service once on site. Even better...after calling almost a dozen other companies, their prices were the cheapest by far. The neatest quote was still about $90 cheaper.

Dropped my key off July 12th still waiting to get my keys made or give my original key back. Have called 7 times with promises to return my key. Today is Sept 5th still no key no reply. Bad/ awful/ customer service!! I am writing this review as I cry with frustration at the way my family was treated. My sister thought she had gotten her key stolen along with her purse. She called aaa and they set up for someone to contact her. The Lock Shop called her and ask for vin # so they could look up key at shop. All this sounded official to us and she gave them the number. They came out to our home. I need to state we made sure that we stated this was not an emergency!!! When they got to our home we found the key. It was in the car and not stolen after all. That was a relief but than immediately she had to deal with the man telling her that her charge was $100 for a key that all they had to do was look up a vin and cut. No chip or anything. Ok $100 for a key and service call I understand. But Aaa had told me I was a premium member and they covered $150 of the charges. I explained that to the man and he told me yes the actual cost for the process is $300. Aaa paid $150 and he was giving me a discount at $100. He was rude and smug and that didn't help the situation either. So we paid. Today I called the lock shop and ask a quote for the same circumstance as yesterday I was quoted $40-$100. I hung up and debated on what to do. I read so many good reviews I called the number and ask to speak to management I spoke to Leon again. I told him the situation and that I wanted to give them a chance to explain before I blasted a negative review. He aggressively only cared what we were charged and what aaa told us. I ended up very upset because the point was why do they have different prices for same service. I asked him so you made $150 off aaa and $100 off my sister when I could of just called you and it would be $40. I feel this is discrimination and mistreatment of the elderly and fraud!!! I am contacting aaa also because they need to know by me using them it tripled my price. DONT USE THESE PEOPLE! I guess unless your sure you are going to get the $40 bill not the $300!! Shame on you!!!

We needed our house locks and keys changed, and were delighted to receive really excellent service provided by THE LOCK SHOP. The owner Leon arrived right on schedule, did the work professionally and cleanly, and was finished sooner than expected. Outstanding work, very reasonable cost, and highly recommended.

Would not recommend waisting you're time . I got excuses and the run around , took off early from work so they could work on ignition .they were a no call no show , so I called them and got a we will call you back response . . With no call back .

This is the worse day with locksmith dealing. I needed to re-key some locks. Called, the owner was very nice, gave me a quote. The technician arrives and gives me a complete different quote. I asked Daniel, the technician not to start until we get pricing clarification, which he completely ignored and started taking locks off the doors, I asked him again to stop, and again, like if I was speaking a language from some tribe in the Amazon... he carries on taking locks off. I called the owner and he talked to Daniel, all clear. Then I went to Daniel to give him the original key from locks, again, I was completely ignored. After finishing 2 doors, he comes in to fix 2 more locks. I saw him coming and asked Daniel not to step on my laundry pile. I guess he didn't hear me, he didn't see me. But he accused me of "not letting him do his job", so then he can see and he can hear. Here we go again, had to call the owner and report Daniel disrespect conduct. Daniel heard what I had to say and I apologized to the owner for calling him on the matter but I really wanted him gone. Daniel recover his speech and tells me he is done. Paid was done over the phone to the shop. By the time Daniel learned about this, puff! He dissappear without a word. An apology to the owner for all what happened and because my brother thought we had a lower price. My brother's mistake.The owner is really great, just make sure you don't get Daniel, he's rude, disrespectful and goes into deaf-mute modeBy the way, Daniel reported my locks were the "difficult and expensive kind" and I will never know if that was revenge for the complaint... more than likely...

I needed my locked re-keyed the day I was leaving town and Leon showed up within five minutes. Within the hour, the locks were rekeyed and I had a bunch of extra keys made for my tenants! I will definitely use The Lock Shop in the future. So grateful for such a quick response, relatively painless, and all for a decent price.
