Disgruntled A.

I loved the apartment, loved it. Loved the location too. I hated my neighbors, hated management, and my roommates car got broken into. Electricity bill peaks at $300+ in the summer. When I was moving out a bunch of sketchy people were moving in. Do yourself a favor don't live here.

I currently live here at the apartment complex The laurels at uptown. I'm completely disappointed that I signed a year lease. Me and my fiance wish we could get out of it. We live here with our four month old daughter. This is no place to have a family!!! When we first came to see the apartment complex it was very nice everything was tidied up , it looks very nice. So we went back to the place and started signing the paperwork. I had asked multiple times if we needed to pay gas and they told me multiple times no. We are now currently having to pay $68 to them for our gas!!! They lied to us right off the bat, just to get us into this apartment! The day we moved in there were cockroaches everywhere our front door, fridge and stove were damaged.our screen was too big for our sliding door it wouldn't open all the way. The neighbors and their dogs are disgusting the courtyard smell like dog crap because nobody cleans up their dog poop. The woman we were working with Yasmeen told me that I could take pictures of all the damages and the things that we were disappointed with and send it to her via email so that we would not be charged for the damages. I sent them to her multiple times and never got a reply. Two weeks went by and I had contacted her again and she notified me that we were out of time to send her the damages, and we wouldn't get our deposit back. I have not heard from her since. The day we moved in I called for an exterminator it took them about 4 months to get somebody over to my apartment, and he didn't spray everywhere he sprayed the kitchen and looked in the closet and then left. A month later the cockroaches are back! It seems like there's nobody here to work maintenance on the building because when it snows nobody comes to put salt on the stairs. the main doors to the complex are broken. You can't get into the laundry rooms because the codes change every month and the doors are broken. Every time I have tried to contact the TNC management team about this they tell me to contact the manager on site but she never answers the phone, and she's never on site. Then they tell me to go to the website but the website is always down. I'm completely utterly disappointed. I'm a first-time mom with a newborn this is no place to live for us I feel like I was conned into getting this apartment!
