The Canyon Club

The staff is amazing. Golf course is well taken care of. The restaurant has some of the best food I've tasted. Definitely recommended!

Attended a work conference here. A modernized ballroom with gorgeous open windows overlooking the golf course is the crown jewel of this facility. Updated bathrooms and genuinely friendly staff.But the real cherry for this facility is the food. Never before have I enjoyed catered food at a hotel or conference facility so much. Truly fresh food being served here. Anyone who has been stuck at a work event for 8 hours knows the value of eating delicious food for lunch. Perfect chicken breasts, fresh bread and salad. A treat.I was incredibly impressed with how much work has been put into this facility. It had been over 15 years since I had been here. It's off the beaten path for most and easy to forget about, but someone is changing it into a hidden gem. It was nothing like the wallpapered and wood panel shrine I remembered and expected it to still be : major props.

Awesome country club. Came to do some laps and only one lane was open at the time. Pool only went 6 feet deep. There was 2 lifeguards on duty. The bartender was super nice and friendly. Food was affordable and healthy. I really enjoyed my turkey wrap. The locker rooms were clean and huge. Gym was on the smaller side but can't complain.

The restaurant/bar at the Canyon Club never disappoints. With friendly, smart staff you are in for a good conversation always. Members are nice and the food is VERY good. Louie (has been with the club for two decades) makes the best breakfast burritos in town and the Turkey Lurkey is the best sandwich $10 can buy in ABQ.

There's a lot happening at this property in the southeast Sandia foothills, and I can't comment on any of it, because I'm not a member of the Club. So why am I commenting? Because people need to know what they're missing. I'd venture to bet that the majority of the members of this place would rate it five stars, but I'm guessing -- and this is totally biased and ageist (who knew that was a word?) -- that most of the members of this Club don't use Yelp to review their recent round on the golf course, or tennis lesson, or lap in the pool. Is this endemic of the Country Club demographic, at large? Probable. Most members of private Country Clubs don't Yelp. What a shame.It's a great shame because The Canyon Club is totally upping their game, and they have been for a couple of years, now. They have a fantastic restaurant, but it's only open to members. They recently hired Chef John Apodaca from Corrales, and the menu is particularly edgy, considering the demographic. I devoured a plate of grilled romaine paired with his version of poutine (white gravy, not legit, but slammin' regardless. Let it be known that I have yet to find an actual, true dat plate of poutine anywhere in ABQ). But whatever. The restaurant in this place is terrific, and they're not afraid to take risks.I'll finish with this: Were I living in the Heights I'd be a member of this Club. They have an awesome pool, great food, and I'm a tennis player so I'd come here to hit a few. And I'd personally never get involved with the whole golf thing, but that's just me. But we'll see if I'm saying that ten years from now.

I was just there for lunch so didn't get to enjoy all of the facilities available to use. We belonged to the club years ago and have been there several times over the years. I noticed that the building in and out looked very well kept and the golf course looked like it was in good shape. The club looked like it was being used by a fair number of people so appeared to be thriving. The lunch was good. The salad and dessert were excellent. The fish tacos weren't my favorite (seemed a bit mushy to me) but everyone else at the table really enjoyed what they had. The service was excellent!

Nice Country Club with a great pool. First met some friends for lunch. Was so impressed got my own membership.Often visit the bar and come for lunch. Service is excellent and food is first class and affordable. Needles to say drinks are affordable.The view from the restraunt is impressive and the entire facility has been upgraded in the last few years.

They are under new ownership and are making some great improvements. They have painted all of the tables and chairs. They are currently remodeling the entire inside. It is looking good. Life guards and staff have been very friendly. The offer swim lessons, and have a great swim team. The new name is the canyon club.

What a wonderful venue! My company had a two day meeting here and the experience was exceptional. They have several large rooms to accommodate groups with beautiful views of the golf course outside. They provided coffee, tea and water throughout the day and went above and beyond to accommodate some special needs requests. The staff was amazingly helpful. I can't say enough about the customer service we received. We had lunch on site which is very convenient and all of us were extremely pleased with the menu options, the quality of the food and the service they provided. The location was beautifully maintained, clean and welcoming. I can't say enough. If your company needs a meeting location, you want to get out for a day of golf or you just want to stop in for a delicious bite to eat I would highly recommend The Canyon Club. We will be back!
