Not sure what to do on a Friday/Saturday night? Have people visiting from out of town? Then I highly recommend considering The Box for a night out. Girls night, date night, family night - whatever you chose your poison to be - the Box should be included. It was a great experience and my face was hurting from laughing so much. The performers are very talented and quick on their feet. Definitely recommend this as an ABQ experience.

I was visiting Albuquerque and was delighted to find out the improv scene is alive and well! I attended the 9 PM Saturday show for just 14 dollars after fees. Buying tickets online and checking in was very easy. The cast played a bunch of short form games and brought a lot of energy. The audience and myself had a great time. I highly recommend checking them out for local and travelers alike.

I've been to a few improvs in Los Angeles. I wasn't too enthused with this location. It appeared that they implanted people In the audience to spit out ideas (so they know in advance what to say). I was also disappointed they don't even have a phone number which made it extremely hard to see if they were open. Also was disappointed they didn't have a liquor license

I stumbled upon this place a year ago and it has since been my favorite Friday night activity. Forget going to the movies... I like to a get a drink from a nearby bar then bask in the quaint ambiance of this local talent. I don't even have to come with a date, I happily attend this venue solo! It's a small theater but you feel you have made friends when it's over. I have no favorite actors because each of them have moments where they shine, just depends on the vibe of the evening. I pride myself in finding places in Albuquerque that make me feel like Im in bigger cities like Chicago and San Francisco and this certainly is one of them! Looking for a weekend activity check out The Show! Promise you won't regret it!

The Box always has something going on. The only rule is that is that it has to be fun.Fun kid's shows followed up with hilarious Improv and Sketch comedy. At this point, it's the only place in town that has Improv and Sketch. It is also one of the only places in Albuquerque that has fostered new theatrical works. Get this, some of the works are even written by the youngsters who perform there. The folks at the Box seem to be doing their best to get that mothball smell out of Albuquerque Theatre.

They have improv performances here every weekend. It makes for an inexpensive, fun, somewhat different Saturday night. The improv cast are all members of the comedy club held at the Box. (If your interested in exercising your funny bone check out their website for beginner classes). Occasionally the box will also have special standup performances. The wife and I have been to both. I preferred the improv night more, but both nights were enjoyable. One of the standup comics later appeared in 'Last Comic Standing', which was cool (she didn't make it to the finals but passed the first round!).So let me talk their regular show. Like any improv, the cast involves the audience, and with more than just asking for prompts. That can be good or bad depending on how you look at it. The space is intimate, no more than a hundred fit in the crowd. If you have a decent sized group, you could easily "volunteer" the shyest of the bunch to the stage. But you wouldnt do that, right? Of course not. If you are bashful, however, beware. The show itself contains several bits that I thought were just long enough to stay fresh and coherent. We shared many laughs and would love to come back. The great thing with improv is our next outing will be guarenteed to be different.

This is one of the less known fun things to do in Albuquerque. I've been here with my friends several times and we always laugh our faces off. All the shows are improv, which can make for some interesting scenarios. For the price, it is worth the entertainment value. I believe it's around $8.00 a ticket. If you've officially ran out of things to do in Albuquerque, check out this place. They also offer improv classes you can sign up for.

We visited The Box with a few friends for the first time last Friday. What a great place for some laughs and to de-stress after a long work week!Improv theatre requires a lot of courage...hats off to the actors for pulling it off! They were clever, quick-witted, and readily accepted audience suggestions. The participation component of the show makes it even more fun and interactive.Bonus...the tickets are under $10 each. Definitely left more of a lasting impression than a typical movie date. If you go in the winter, the theater is a bit chilly...come prepared and get cozy.
