The Art of Snacks

I cannot believe that a little food truck somewhat off the beaten path has THE BEST HAMBURGER I'VE EVER EATEN. We stopped there more or less be chance while driving from Albuquerque. I live in Denver and my wife and I are planning a day trip to back to Raton just to get lunch at the the Art of Snacks. It's that good.

Bussin' . Cinnamon rolls , loaded fries , and hamburger . Gave our dog a pupsicle!

I'm actually really happy to have had the train delayed so that we could stop by. Four noisy scouts forgot how to talk and slowly enjoyed every last nibble of the shaved ice here. Each flavor needed no imagination to know what it was. Strawberry, root beer float, horchata, pineapple and more. Anyway I need to stop writing since I'm off for seconds.

I was drawn in by the mural but disappointed. The coffee was the same as every other restaurant in Raton (except Enchanted Grounds*****). But it wasn't made yet, so a quick stop turned into a wait. I'm happy to wait for quality coffee but this wasn't my idea of great coffee. During the wait, my kids decided they needed hot chocolate. The guy taking orders seemed bewildered at a request for soy milk and no whip cream due to lactose intolerance. Not to fear though; for there was no milk or whip cream on the premises. Only powdered caocao in hot water. Which was serving scolding hot. Honestly we didn't experience anything artful about this place. I would suggest to the owners to invest a little on the drink selection.

I had a hamburger at the ART OF SNACKS today. It was huge. It was a green chile cheeseburger, and it was absolutely perfect. The fries are the best! I ate so many fries that I could not even eat half of my hamburger. It was great left over! The Hawaiian ice is my very favorite thing they make. If you have not been, you have to go! Visitors to Raton had stopped in and loved it.

My husband and I stopped here and got a warm cinnamon bun and some ice cream. It was amazing and the owners were so friendly and helpful for places to visit in the area. If we ever go through raton again we will stop by for sure!

This a cool place that has some different things than your average burger joint. The burgers are delicious by the way and they never cheat you on fries! I love their chicken strips with gravy and biscuits! You can also get special baked goods like donuts and pie and they also have snow cones. Check it out this place it is awesome!

We SO enjoyed eating at The Art of Snacks while passing thru Raton! The food is delicious and the shaved ice was fantastic! The owners are such nice people and made our experience in their small place such a treat! Even pulled out sidewalk chalk for our kids to use in the covered patio. The green Chile cheeseburger and homemade fries get two thumbs up!

Soup and sandwiches are good. Plenty of meat on the sandwiches. Green chili is tasty also, and their homemade sweets are good. Need to reopen please!
