Teofilos Restaurante

I was invited here for a dinner with a speaker who wanted to talk about retirement investments. That in itself is something I could write a review about but, I'll keep it to the restaurant review and spare you those details. The choice for meals were good. They had the appetizer chips, salsa, were good and of course the sopapillas and honey are always good. The service was good. Quick on asking for drinks and getting orders. It was a good size group of people and getting the orders were good. I ordered the enchiladas (green and red chile /Christmas) with steak, rice and beans. Everything was good. Steak was over cooked for me and I didn't like the rice, beans were good. Enchiladas were good, sauce was tasty. Then there was a dessert. Something I haven't tried. Natillas! This was delicious! I really enjoy coming here, as I have many times. As a local Mexican cuisine restaurant, it's good. Always clean, friendly service and enjoyable place to go.

So disappointed. When I come into town to visit, teofilos is always a place I need to stop at; however today was extremelyDisappointing. I'll start with the service they weren't very attentive we sat there needing refills for awhile. Next the food portions ! OMG. Everything has shrunk !! The tamale was so small I couldn't even believe it was a tamale ! And the chicken ! They served one tiny piece of chicken breast ! And the sopapillas !! They were so tiny ! & TOUGH ! They said they were " made fresh" but jeez it seemed like they had been sitting since last night. I don't know what happened and why these changes happened all I know is I'm so disappointed that I have to take this place off my " must visit" list.

Nice place to visit and eat. Good Mexican food and a very chill ambiance. Clean and professional staff! Very good service especially with over 20 people in our party! Will come back for sure!

Went there today to celebrate a birthday. Got in was sat right away but...it seems we were thrown in the corner no one else there. Took about 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged we were there. Food was good service was HORRIBLE!!! We've been there a few times before and had a great experience, maybe today was just an " off " day. But really no excuse for poor service!!

I went this evening with my wife and was disappointed. We never got refills no offer of chips and salsa and the portions were meager. This has gone downhill

Located in a Historic building across from the Luna mansion on Main Street. Beautiful dining rooms with delicious New Mexican cuisine. Top notch service with a home like atmosphere.

A few years ago, I would have given Teofilo's five stars but no more. The food is fine if you stick with the typical New Mexican fare (enchiladas, rellenos, etc.). But the fajitas that I ordered there recently were a joke, despite being listed as a Teofilo's specialty. I just got a plate of chicken and refried beans (mostly beans) with no bell peppers or onions. It came with only two tiny flour tortillas. Another thing that sticks in my craw is that chips and salsa are no longer complimentary and now carry an extra charge of five dollars. Yikes! Even my server looked a little bit embarrassed when she broke the news to me about this. I know inflation has taken its toll on the restaurant industry but Teofilo's should really take a look at the direction they have gone in. I ate at Teofilo's twice this month when I was passing through town. I used to sometimes drive to Los Lunas from Albuquerque just to eat at Teofilo's but I doubt I would do this today.

Wait staff was not very knowledgeable. Perhaps a new server. But the food was very disappointing. My wife has two tacos a la carte and they actually came on two plates and were not very flavorful.I had two pork tamales. They were literally each smaller than most enchiladas. Very little masa on them.Beans and rice were standard out of the can/box. Sopaipilla were very good.

Wonderful fajita salad, great service, and they let us sit and chat after we ate. The restaurant has a warm friendly ambiance. I highly recommend this restaurant. My friend mentioned that their chile was not too spicy and not too mild, the perfect heat.

We took my mom out to dinner to Teofilos expecting the usual great meal. We were disappointed I ordered the steak fajitas my flat skirt steak was dry and almost burnt I ordered calabacitas, it was all corn with like 3 pieces of calabacitas. The portions for my mom's plate were very small. Not worth the money.
