Saturdays May thru October, you gotta go. Something you have to experience at least once. The spirit of Taos, the smells, the kind people, the music and farming culture all come together for this spirited (socially distanced & masked in 2020) party in the square which is: Taos Farmers Market. It's hard to pick my most favorite part of the market. -I simply adored the robust smell of ROASTING HATCH CHILIS in the cool fall air as we made our way through the market. -WILD LEAVEN BAKERY BREADS are flavor bombs which are in-sanely delicious. Make no mistake, toasted with butter it takes you to heaven. In hindsight I wish I had bought a few loaves and brought them home to freeze. Next time I will. They also had tasty hand pies which were awesome breakfast for that morning. -The family selling TAMALES were awesome, kind, and their food was delicious. -RODRIGUEZ S & J FARM was there selling their RAUL'S POSOLE. We had the unique luck of finding them at the Santa Fe Farmer's Market the weekend before. We cooked our first bag of Posole during the week and knew we wanted a few bags more to take home. So when we found them in Taos we were super excited. Also, their posole is a great gift to take home to family and friends who enjoy cooking. All and all, I liked the Taos Farmer's Market better than the Santa Fe Farmer's Market, which I didn't expect at all. The Santa Fe Market rocked and it was much larger. The Taos Farmer's Market was much smaller...more intimate. I think getting to experience the roasting of the hatch chilis really was really something special for me, which the weekend before we didn't get to see at the Santa Fe Farmer's Market. October 2020

This is one of the best FMs ever. Seriously. We always plan our trips to include a Saturday so we can attend. Even if we're on our way out of town, we stop and buy some fresh produce along with some NM favorites like chilis, green chili powder, homemade tortillas and local honey. Some of the Plaza shops are open early during the event as well. Although there wasn't live music this time, we have experienced some good local music here as well. There are two great tea vendors here along with local farmers, bakers, etc. EVERYONE is passionate about what they do and are eager to tell you about their wares.Even at the end of the season (market closes for the season on October 28), there was lots of fresh veggies to choose from.

Always a treat to go to! Many different produce options, local bakers, local honey, local tea, and many other fun local products. Takes place right in the historic square of Taos as well; so there's some neat scenery and other shops to check out while you're there.Bonus is there's also always lots of cute dogs of all shapes and sizes to see (and possibly pet) as many Taoseños like to bring their dogs with them to the market.

This intimate, spiritual, folksy and community market is in every Saturday during May thru October. One really gets the Taos vibe when here featuring awesome local farm to table products. In the air of chilies roasting, we found knowledgeable vendors willing to share their stories and offer samples. Let's face it, a great story and a great sample make for an awesome farmers market! Shout outs go to Wild Leaven Bakery for their amazing breads and interesting baked goods. We sampled a rye molasses fennel loaf which was hearty, earthy and toasty. We immediately bought one. Can't wait to head to their shop next time we're in town. Not to be missed though, is the table full of jams and jellies in front of the Gorman Gallery. The affable mom and son team make outstanding Apple and other flavors. By far the standout is the Jalapeno jam. Sweet, spicy, perfect contrast balanced in a homemade jar with love. A MUST! I was not able to get their name but if anyone recognizes them please comment! They deserve kudos! Zephaniah Stringfield played some good music which added to the market ambiance. A great way to spend a Saturday morning....

Amazing! Veggies and fruits everywhere. The market was great. We got lots of different items acorn squash, grapes, cucumbers, and fresh beans. The only thing we were hoping for was more food vendors. Thought we could grab a burrito or taco while walking around.

Total must when in Taos on the weekend. Farm fresh local honey, herbs, tea, produce, jams, and other homemade products. The smell of fresh roasted chili fills the air! The blue corn papayas with sour cream and green chili are a must. There is a lady that sells a lavender tea made with spices and oatmilk that is so unusual and one of the best things I've tasted!
