Tamashi Westside

Sushi in Albuquerque don't go together, at least that was a thought until we found a spot. Great sushi, amazing customer service, and spectacular drinks. It's been a while since I have gone, but the combinations they had were so flavorful. There's just one where they put it in foil light in a fire that caught our attention and wasn't just for show. The flavor was on point. Plenty of parking and definitely plenty of seating inside. Just writing a review I think we're gonna be heading there this weekend. Probably a favorite or only good spot in Albuquerque for sushi.

I'm so glad we found this place! After living in Albuquerque for the past year and trying a number of sushi restaurants, we've finally found a great one. The ingredient quality at Tamashi is exceptional. The rolls are delicious and come out quickly. Our drinks were quickly refilled without us having to ask and the service attentive. The Sex and the City roll, which Tamashi lists as their most popular, was crunchy and fresh. I loved the crunchy bits on top, which are a Tamashi proprietary recipe. This is officially my favorite sushi place in Albuquerque and I'm glad we tried it. The price tag on some of the specialty rolls put us off from trying it a bit ago, but it's filling and completely worth it. Go check it out!

Went today to check our Tamashi on the Westside after loving the Heighta location. The space is very open and bright and the seating is super comfortable. Our service was also great- our server was very attentive, gave suggestions, and also would check in with updates while waiting on our food. We started with the avocado bomb- the combination of textures and flavor is spot on. We also had the OMG roll, tiger roll, and two individual sushi with yellow tail and squid. All of them were excellent! The squid was a little tough but the white tail melted in your mouth. We will definitely be back!

I was the only customer at the time and just feel like the service could have been better. My server was nice but I ordered the hot chai and I feel he could have been more attentive to the quality of the product. The chai was barely warm. Even my Tonkatsu soup was warm and not giving the impression of freshly hot or freshly made. There were no other customers but in between times of checking on me I noticed him just standing around playing on his cell phone. I think folks should put their cell phones away at work and find opportunities to be fully engaged with what they need to do and be aware of what's going on around them at work, hence keeping the hot beverages hot. Service and food here on this particular visit was just "ok" for me today. I left a little underwhelmed and feeling like I should have eaten somewhere else.

Great atmosphere, very new and updated feel. The wait staff was kind and attentive. As far as the food? The sushi is top notch! Absolutely delicious the other dishes were just okay. I thought they overdid the noodles compared to the amount of veggies in the beef yaki udon. The meat was mostly thin sliced fat with hardly any meat, if any at all. The spicy pork ramen had tasty broth. We recommend trying it. I'll admit that I was slightly disappointed but the sushi saved the day! I will be back some time for some more sushi and maybe try a bento box.

The sushi was very good. The service is a bit chaotic as you don't have an assigned server. They all help each other however made it confusing when we were ordering and paying.

Cool sushi restaurant on the Westside in a clean, bright modern type setting. The service was outstanding. They have an extensive cocktail and food menu. I started off with a Plum Fashioned cocktail which is their take on an Old Fashioned. It was very good. We started off with Spicy Tina Bites as an appetizer and it was very good. I had the Mr. Kim which is a Tamashi Signature Roll. It has spicy salmon in a roll topped with tuna and salmon. It also was very good. My wife had the Tamashi Bento Box which has an assortment of food including California roll, tempura, salad and a protein served over rice. Her chicken was average but everything else was delicious.

Generous portions in their hand rolls and unfiltered sake available. Service was quick and friendly.

The food and service is excellent. The menu has a large variety of appetizers, ramen, sushi and beverages. The dining area is modern and small allowing for service to be more friendly, attentive and welcoming.
