This thrift store has some good variety but high prices for a second hand store. The signs posted about discounts are unclear. They said it was 75% off all color tags except lavender. After getting to the register the cashier said that was only for clothing. This was no where on the signs. Rude customer service. Not going to return.

This store is a little wonderful treat. Sure, maybe I just got lucky this day but I have a feeling they have a good steady turnover. There are cups and books and vases and towels and clothes and more. The stuff in the glass case is intriguing too. Some vintage items. All the prices are very very reasonable and they take credit cards. Friendly staff too!

This place used to be my favorite thrift store in all of New Mexico. Great deals, friendly people, high quality items (new and vintage). Over the past couple of years Talking Talons has transitioned into a 'thrift boutique' or consignment style store with comparable prices. There is nothing thrifty about this place whatsoever. Nothing. Example, today I went in and saw a pair of cowboy boots that were priced at $120.00. Why? Not sure. They were made of leather and snakeskin but the scales of the snakeskin were peeling up, the leather had scuffs and the soles were totally worn out. Maybe the price was so high because the brand is Tony Lama? My wife found a cotton summer dress which was older but it was $30.00! There was nothing special about it and looks like something you can dig up at a real thrift store for $3-$5. She also found a denim vest - for $40.00!!!! In the shoe section there were a pair of women's sandals for $20.00. I looked up the brand, they are from Walmart and go for $11.99 brand new! I collect sports jerseys. They had 2 hockey jerseys today. One was $25.00 and the other was $50.00. I used to be able to get hockey jerseys there for $5 at most. The jerseys were is decent condition but one of them was a knock off Reebok reproduction. A few weeks ago the manager had a Michael Jordan jersey in the back for $85.00!!!! So outrageous!!! I asked why and she told me that is how much they go for on Amazon and eBay (which isn't true, I looked it up). So here's the kicker. I think the manager looks up prices on the Internet and then sets given item's prices at the highest cost. This place is a total rip off. Avoid it at all costs. Drive to Edgewood and go to the Salvation Army there for $1 shirts/blouses and $2 pairs of shoes. Looking for higher quality items? Try Buffalo Exchange or Savers in Albuquerque. They have high quality boots, shoes and clothes at better prices. Plus, ABQ has tons of thrift stores which support great causes and you won't break the bank. Talking Talons is not a good place for people shopping on a budget. It is a great place for suckers who want to get fleeced. I give Talking Talons an F- whereas a couple years ago they easily got an A+.

Although I've found some good deals here, it's extremely disorganized, cramped and there are no prices on items which makes it difficult to shop.

The store is outrageous. ridiculous, pricing and the stuff they've had on the shelves has been there for years that they'll never sell. There was a lady at the check out who smelt like she hadn't showered. she had short tagled hair, she was the rudest woman I've ever seen I didn't buy anything. Not just because of the bad pricing but because I saw her yell at several customers asking about pricing. I will never recommend this shop. Don't stop I. Just pass by

Love this thrift store such a huge variety of items that come in and the prices are well priced and aren't out to cost you and arm and leg. The service was amazing the gentleman at the front was super. Ice and friendly. Going back for sure.

Young woman at the register was awful to me, TWICE, and I won't return. I am disabled and sometimes I need extra time at a cash register. I am legally, permanently disabled and I am doing the best that I can. I would prefer to be able to function like most people, but I can't.The young woman with curly, long brown hair was impatient, intolerant, and got even nastier when I told her she was making me nervous. Totally unacceptable and she needs sensitivity training at the very least. I was a regular shopper until they hired her. The manager's husband is a book dealer. There are no interesting or valuable books on the shelves. Probably a coincidence, right?

The cashier is beyond rude and the prices are ridiculous for a 'thrift' store. They jack the prices up so they can offer discounts on certain days of the week. AVOID this place!!
