I was in the area, after my haircut, I saw this restaurant across the parking lot. Immediately I wanted to give this place a try. Glad I did be cause the taco plate hit the spot. The nice thing about the taco plate is that it comes with 4 tacos and you can choose two different types of meat. I picked Al Pastor and Carnitas. Both solid choices and super filling. Definitely will be back to try their Tortas. I would recommend others to come by and check them out.

I was in Albuquerque for my daughter's soccer game when TikTok somehow knew I was craving tacos. I saw a post on my FYP and just had to check it out. The wait was 45 min long and totally not worth it! We tried the asada, pastor, quesabirria tacos, and an asada quesadilla. The pastor was like store bought and the asada was bland. The quesabirrias and consomé tasted a lot like cinnamon. Quesadilla was pretty good.

This Sinaloense place is phenomenal (thanks to Elite Yelper Jean for the heads up)! You don't need to go to Culiacán or track down the food truck that got these folks established - this is the real deal. REALLY wonderful meats: tons of flavor but not greasy, great cilantro/onion/cucumber toppings and PLENTY of meat on each. The tacos came with pico de gallo and red and green salsas and the vampiros had those as well as guacamole and sour cream. We had tacos de asada and carnitas (you can pick two meats - four tacos in total) as well as vampiros (very lightly toasted tortillas - sort of like tostadas; you can pick two meats here as well, but only three in total) with barbacoa and al pastor (which had cheese). Yuu-uum - not one bite of it was anything less than very delicious, and most of it was - well, phenomenal. If I were ranking them . . . eesh - the asada, barbacoa and carnitas (A, B & C!) were just top-notch. The vampiro al pastor was very delicious, but not as sweet as expected in an al pastor (and with really yummy cheese, too) . . . something I actually welcomed, but it didn't make me want to grab even more of the meat to eat with my fingers the way A, B & C did. (I was full by this time, too, so I just wanted to eat more for the sake of tasting it.)The room is spacious and offers a couple TVs if you feel like watching. Nice location with plenty of parking at the back of the Scottsdale Village shopping plaza, between a brewery outlet and an ice cream store (pick your poison!). Service was gentle and gracious, and available in either Spanish or English (both flawless and unaccented - wish I could do that). As soon as we got home, my wife and I started planning our next visit to Tacos El Muchacho Alegre - and then I texted several friends to tell them about it. The place is aptly named: I'm a happy boy!

Great birria tacos and asada tacos. These are by far the best I've found in NE Albuquerque. Great local restaurant. Highly recommend.

So I recently stopped by Tacos El Muchacho Alegre and wow! The first time I went, I tried their barbacoa and al pastor tacos. The barbacoa with the green salsa was my favorite! They also hand make their tortillas and it makes a difference! I loved it so much that I went back the next day to try their carne asada fries and it was another great choice! What made it even better was that I went during their happy hour when all their entrees were $9.99! Can't beat that price for the amount of delicious food! And I can't forget the customer service... the staff were so friendly and helpful! Everything was top notch!

Grand opening day for Tacos el Muchacho Alegre in Scottsdale Village, Eubank and Candelaria. All entrees are $9.99 today and you get a free Agua Fresca. The pineapple was delicious and I loved the chunks in the bottom of cup. I got the quesabirria. It was really tasty. The red and green salsa and consome were delicious. The nachos were really good too. There was a line out the door when I went but the wait wasn't ridiculous. It's nice to have a Mexican restaurant in the hood.

The only good thing here is the quesabirria tacos. Even then it is still pretty greasy. The quesadilla I ordered was extremely greasy and inedible.

Let me start by saying how excited I was to eat here. Went in and we were there maybe 20 minutes before closing. The cashier Jose told us we were the last order of the night. We wanted asada and al pastor and I was a bit upset but we were still excited to have the asada. Jose was not being nice to us at all. His customer service was no bueno. A group of kids came in behind us and he was so nice to them and said he'd still serve them after being rude to us and saying we were last order of night yet he was all happy to see them and take their order. I asked to speak to manager just because he was mean to me! A girl from behind the counter came to back him up and she said if he's being rude then take ur money back and leave, then customers and the group behind us all seeming to be regulars started to verbally attack us as well. So we left with our money. I did exchange some unkind words as I walked out because of how we were being treated. I have been so upset about the entire situation because I had heard such good things about their food just to end up disappointed by service alone. I guess not all people are willing to be nice and treat others respectfully as it is a top priority in customer service. I know I left being unkind because of how upset I was so I was wrong for doing so, I was the customer and I just stood up for myself with the unfair customer service. I wish the business well and I'm glad they do have an extensive following of regulars. Unfortunately I'll never get to enjoy their food.
