I love this park...it's a clean, lovely park and has all the safe and great neighborhood feel. You see kids playing, adults having a talk and doing a picnic..and people walking their dogs. What I particularly love is that it has a very dog friendly vibe and I could take my dog for a walk steps from my home, knowing that it's a safe place for him and for me.The park is pretty clean. I think people who visit this park do a great job of cleaning up after themselves (minus a few dog poops that I saw around a park, which I hoped was due to unintentional unnotice of dog owners...and not intentionally leaving them there!). The park has both sand and grass area...they clean regularly (their trash is never full!) and provide free dog poop bags for those who forget to bring their own as well. The only drawback is that aside from a few big trees around a park, there's really not much shaded areas for you to hide from the heat. So, make sure you come when it's not 85F+ out. For me, since I live super close by...this temperature/no shade area isn't an issue for me. However, if you are walking from afar or driving here...maybe time it well so you or your loved ones (kids or dogs) don't get heat stroke!

I love this park! It is super clean and it is always filled with our beautiful neighbors. It's a super safe place for kids to play and a really joyous place. There is a lot of fantastic park equipment for kids as well as plenty of grass and trees for ambiance.A lot of people love to walk their dogs here and it's a great place to do it! Our Parks and Rec department keeps it clean and that makes it a fantastic place to have parties. The neighborhood is really friendly and that makes this an extra fun park! We really enjoy even just parking here and enjoying a quick bite together when we just have a few minutes between errands because it feels like a break from it all!

We were passing through from California to Florida and needed our three oldest to get some energy out. This place is perfect and is in a very safe area not far from the UNM campus. This spot is perfect and has swings for both toddler and bigger children. The only reason I give it four stars is because it is not fenced in for extra safety.

The Good: Quite possibly the most active park in Albuquerque. Two play structures and a mid-size toddler slide. Tire swing is quite simply Da Bomb. Four bucket swings with medium radius swingage. Random metal rocking horse in the center. Great people come here to celebrate birthdays and grill thanks to the adequate picnic table and trash can availability. Small basketball hoop area. Picnic area has elm trees.* This park deserves special recognition for hosting an incredible pumpkin display each year during Halloween. Anyone in the city is welcome to bring a pumpkin to line the sidewalks, and as night falls the entire park is lit in a gorgeous yellow-orange glow. The neighborhood is fantastic for Trick-or-Treaters.The Bad: Sand + limited shade = HOT in the summer, no dice once the heat is on. No field for team sports. The Verdict: If you're in the mood to talk parental shop this is a great place to meet up with friends or meet new people.

This is my favorite park for taking the kids. There is a great canopy of elms which is essential in the summer. There is a circular concrete walkway which is perfect for teaching kids to ride bikes or scooters etc. without letting them out into traffic. The base is sand and they have multiple slides and swings that seem to encompass all ages from the safety swings to the tire swings. The slides typically do not scald my children. There are basketball courts and a small climbing wall. Everytime I go, there are great kids who are really friendly as are their mamas and papas. On Halloween the neighborhood carves about 200 jack-o-lanterns. Great trick-or-treating in that neighborhood too.

I come here with my son often. It's a cute little neighborhood park that many of the families nearby enjoy going to with their children. I appreciate that there are a variety of different size structures so my 18 month old can play without needing a lot of extra help.
