The minute I walked into Sukhmani Home, I was wowed!! So many beautiful pieces from furniture to furnishings and beyond. Over the last year this has been a go to place for me to create a sanctuary in my office and home. My Tibetan statue is a stand out piece in my living room in California. And the candles!! Oh my goodness- best smelling candles ever!! I can't say enough about the staff -Dana, Tara, Alex, Marta, or Sat Gurumukh-I'd even go so far to say, my friends. They make visiting the store an endearing, personal experience, not just a shopping experience.

The most beautiful store in all of New Mexico. Every time I walk in I am greeted by the warmest and loveliest of staff- you truly feel right at home. Their incredible designs are infused with old world meets mid century- and create the most beautiful balance to any home. I have never seen such luxurious textiles, furniture, and decor- all coupled with their incredible team. High vibrations on every front! THE BEST.

Do you want to see something new and cool? I was totally captivated by this special stress reliever, meditation ceramic home decor art with purpose. I wanted every single design for a different room in my house. He lit up a almond shaped Inscence cone and placed it on top of gorgeous cascading leaves. A few seconds later I watch smoke cascade down the falls. He then placed the cone on a Dragon and smoke came out of his mouth. I asked about the fragrance. He said it was sandalwood. Wow!#SukhmaniHome furnishings textile boutique is so unique with a flare for one who has personal style and creativity. I love what I find!

Easily my favorite furniture temple -- er, store -- in Albuquerque, you need to experience this place to really "get" it. A quick overview: furnishings and art sourced the world over, but generally imported from India, China and various smaller countries, like Nepal. Each piece is hand-picked by members of this eclectic New Mexican Sikh family, you're bound to strike up a conversation with someone while you shop. You'll also learn that some of the fine art and photography are the work of local artists, and another bonus: you're getting a history lesson. Typically, the tables, shelving units, altars, virtually everything in the store has been at some point repurposed, salvaged or conditioned for a new life in a new home. Some of these pieces are hundreds of years old.Okay, okay, so that all sounds good, but can you afford this stuff? Simple answer, yeah, it's affordable. And because it's a family business, they're always willing to work with you to transport your masterpiece from the showroom to your abode. One more hint: if you don't see exactly what you want in this store, they also house a sizable collection in a separate location, just a couple miles away. Ask for a tour, they can probably arrange one. Oh, and then there's this: Sat is always looking for new pizza. If you have any suggestions, he's all ears.

Stopped into this gorgeous gem with my family (which included my 3 young children) this weekend. Upon hearing me say "please don't touch anything" to my children, the owner came by and said to them "you can touch everything!" He proceeded to explain a beautiful story to me about his own childhood. I was moved and touched. What a wonderfully compassionate and kind man. My kindergartener asked him why he was wearing a white robe. The owner sweetly explained why and educated my child. What a beautiful and touching experience we had. We were offered water and anything else that we needed. Keep in mind, this is a home decor store! We almost unpacked our bags and moved in. The items herw are curated to perfection. What a dream! After leaving the store, my 9 year old told me this was his favorite store and immediately wanted to go back. He has asked me everyday since, to return. We will be back very soon.

I've been having the most phenomenal experience working with the owner of Sukhmani Home, Sat Gurumukh, to furnish my new home in Santa Fe. This store excels in absolutely every way. The furniture and home decor are stunning and reasonably priced. Delivery is extremely fast. Sat Gurumukh has gone way above and beyond for me. He met me at his warehouse in Albuquerque so that I could look at the pieces at that location (he also has a store in Albuquerque). He's also been to my house twice so far and each time brought several different pieces of furniture and lamps so that we could see how the pieces looked in the rooms. This was INCREDIBLY helpful! He took back the pieces I ended up not needing. He's an interior designer with exquisite taste and has been invaluable to me in picking out the right pieces for my home. He's also the loveliest person and has a lot of integrity. He genuinely wants his customers to be happy with their purchase/s and to have an exceptional experience shopping at his stores. Each time he came to my home he brought three to four movers with him. They were respectful, efficient and professional. The house my husband and I bought came with furniture we didn't want, and Sat Gurumukh was more than happy to take it away for us and donate it. Many of these were big heavy pieces of furniture. It was such a relief for us to be rid of them! He additionally moved a huge, heavy armoire (not from his store) to another room in our home. On top of all of this, he has fed me several times, delicious food from his parents' restaurant in Albuquerque, even accommodating my gluten-free diet! This was so generous and hospitable of him. I wish I had discovered Sukhmani Home earlier. It's the best furniture and home decor store I've ever been to, and I've been to a lot! I can't recommend it highly enough!

Strange pair of shops on the Amherst side of the Co-op/Scalo plaza in Nob Hill. We're from India, so we could see that they're mostly selling what is considered low- to mid-level rustic furniture, sculpture, and fiber-arts from South Asia at a giant markup. (E.g., A painted wood Ganesh my Dad bought me in Chennai a couple of years ago for $35 is being sold for something like $900 here.) Prices at their jewelry shop across the parking lot are similarly inflated. A lot of times there will be a sign on one shop door asking you to go to the other shop to tell the lady you're there so she can let you in. I guess these are fun little stores to walk through, but it might be more cost-effective to buy a round-trip plane ticket to India and pick out your own Hindu/Buddhist tchotchkes and wood cabinets. I'm not sure how businesses like this survive in a high-rent retail area like Nob Hill.
