My son has been coming to the breakdancing classes for a few weeks now and he loves it. The instructor seems to relate really well to his students. He has learned so much in the short time he's been a student. It's also very reasonably priced and a great place for kiddos - and adults alike - to get some energy out and learn new things. The location is pretty tucked away but it is definitely worth the hunt. There is a large variety of classes offered and they seem to accommodate most work and school schedules. I have had limited interactions with the staff. Mostly introductions when we first started and business related chats like payments and schedules. I think that works perfectly for me. While it's nice that they're friendly, I think the primary goal here is to find an artistic outlet where your kids (or yourselves) can learn and feel welcome. They have accomplished that and I'm really glad that I took the chance on this place. They provide opportunities for drop-ins so that you can try it out before committing.

Bad business experience for our little dancer (her heart was broken), unprofessional and as it turns out, political. Good dance instructor and mostly good dance teams. Just need to stay focused on the goal of teaching dance to the children and out of drama....

I am extremely disappointed and upset with the treatment my family and I received from Sparrow Dance Productions. My 5-year-old daughter was left in tears and missed her performance. The staff showed a complete lack of empathy and professionalism. My daughter was late due to unforeseen circumstances, and we were unable to contact the owners to inform them because they don't have a way to communicate on recital days. When my mom arrived, she was denied entrance despite there being still an hour and forty minutes until the show. When we tried to address the situation, they were incredibly disrespectful to both me and my mom. The situation escalated further when my husband called to ask what the hell was going on. The owner was dismissive to him as well. My husband mentioned he would be speaking to James himself upon arrival, but instead of trying to resolve the issue, they called the police on us. The owner falsely claimed that my husband had threatened to "kick his ass," which never happened. This was an unnecessary and shocking response that only added to our distress and wasted more time my daughter could have spent preparing for her performance. The owner mentioned that he was in charge of 100 dancers and didn't have time for this, but whose fault is that? They decided not to take volunteers for this recital as they have in the past. I would not recommend this dance company; their treatment of young children and their families is unacceptable, and no one should have to experience what we did. I hope James enjoyed his power trip, crushing a 5-year-old for something beyond her control. He will probably respond to this by saying, "Kids suffer the consequences from their parents/guardians, yes it is unfortunate." While this is true, they should have a better way to communicate with families on recital days in case of unexpected delays because stuff happens beyond our control. The lack of empathy alone should be reason enough not to take your children here. Believe the reviews on Yelp; I didn't, and I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Now that I have seen the owner's dismissive and rude behavior, I know exactly what those reviews were talking about.Upon inspecting their reviews on Google, I found they did the same thing to another family during Saturday's recital, so my experience is not uncommon. I am sure that after I post this review, they will receive a five-star review immediately after, just like yesterday when they got the same amount of five-star reviews within the same day as negative ones. I'm sure that's just a coincidence.

Update: time has changed the vibe of the studio. We no longer attend as I don't want to deal with drama, and rude language used towards children. Having to prioritize schoolwork (therefore cutting back from 4 nights a week to participate in the ballet) because it's harder for some kids doesn't make them "stupid".

What a waste of time and money. The owners only welcome; sob stories, broken narratives, kids that make them look better, or very VERY deep pockets. The instructors are, and I quote Christina Daly-Smith, "throw away dancers that will never make it past the company dancer level. That's why I don't have to pay them as much."Total narcissist's. Please take your kids somewhere else

THIS IS A WARNING!! What ever you do please don't take your children to sparrow dance. The owner is a very, very rude person and when I got upset with the way he was treating me, he went and pulled my 4 year old granddaughter out of class. All because he didn't like me and she's so young of course she didn't understand and cried the whole way home. I mean come on who does that to a little child?? Someone without a conscience that's who! So again please don't go to this company. The owner is completely mean and shouldn't be able to stay in business then maybe they would learn to treat others with respect!

Complete lack of customer service and blatant disrespect to paying customers. Owners don't know how to handle unhappy parents or take any type of criticism.
