I've now been a patient of Southwest Women's Oncology for over two years. This is a highly personal type of medical care and a lot of folks might not feel comfortable writing an online review about their health care. But as a stage iv colon cancer survivor, I know how important it is that you feel your oncologist has your absolute best interests at heart. Preya Wisner has been my doctor for care and for two surgeries, a colcoscopy and a hysterectomy. I am now 7 weeks out from the hysterectomy and had a follow up last week and I can't say enough positive things about the care I've received, about the office staff, about the fact that I can see her in Santa Fe every other week, and about my health in general. This feels like life-saving care and I highly recommend SW Women's Oncology. Dr. Finkelstein and Dr. Wisner are the best!

I went to Linda Dominguez when she was at SW Women's Health. She was the WORST medical professional I have ever encountered. She dismissed my symptoms for years. She never showed any compassion or concern for my wellbeing. She just rushed in and out of the room, doing the bare minimum in order to get her check from my insurance. When I finally switched doctors I found out I have endometriosis and PCOS. I have had 4 surgeries in the past 2 years. It was so bad, I had to travel to Duke Hospital to see specialists. If Linda had done her job even a little and listened to me, it never would have gotten this bad. If she had listened, maybe I wouldn't be 25 years old and worrying about my fertility. I am writing this because I heard she moved to a new practice and I am truly concerned that this disgusting excuse for a CNP is now working in oncology. Stay far away if you value your health.

The incompetence and insincerity of Dr Finkelstein was horrific. In hindsight, I wish we had gotten a second opinion prior to surgery and chemo. It was the worst medical experience in our lives.

This is the most incompetently run medical practice I have encountered in the 20 years I have lived in New Mexico, and as a senior, I cannot afford this. Both the doctors I had left for better situations, and I walked in for my last appointment to find the second one had gone, and nobody had bothered to inform me. I took the appointment with a PA instead of a doctor, which was adequate, because the doctor had told me I needed the extra annual visit. Their receptionists at the Rust office included a Goth girl who could barely speak a coherent sentence; and billing is a total disaster. I pay an exorbitant amount for health insurance so I won't have to pay at the visit, and then found myself charged over $100 for an "extra" visit Medicare won't cover, and therefore my expensive insurance won't cover. All in all a bad experience and I suggest you go elsewhere.

I had a small biopsy that was removed and benign. The procedure was needlessly painful, excruciating pain.To begin...I am on the leg spread bent knee table, typical. Dr. Finkelstein was present long enough to show the young assistants what to do. She yanked my vaginal lips open to show the assistant what her task would be during the procedure. My instinctive reaction was to eject from the harm. Finkelstein left and the girls remained to perform the cauterized biopsy. On four occasions I instinctively pushed away injuring my groin and scoas muscle. The procedure was done in August 2021 and the intensity of the solar plexus muscle pain continues and is easily injured again due to the location. This could have been avoided by numbing the area before torching (cauterizing) the vaginal interior.I cannot describe how needlessly painful this was!!!

Came here for general gynecology exam and an IUD. The first doctor I saw did my exam, ordered $500 worth of additional testing without telling me it wouldn't be covered by my insurance, then quit. Since then, every visit I've had to explain and re-explain what I'm there for. Most recently, they called to request that I move a 3:45 appointment to 3:15, then on the day of the appointment kept me waiting from 3:15 until 4:00 because they didn't have any rooms available, then called me four times in one day attempting to schedule a follow up appointment months from now. Generally not impressed at the level of disorganization and poor communication.

The chemo nurses are amazing. I love dr wisners bedside manner. Dr finklestein however has nothing said two words to me since she did my surgery. Normally a surgeon will check on you post op to make sure you're doing well and let you know how it went. She didn't say anything. In fact she told a nurse who told me that I wouldn't remember it anyway so what's the point. The point is reassuring your patient you have the best in mind for them and making sure they feel like you care. Do I believe she gives two cents about anything other than the money the insurance is paying? Nope, otherwise she would have stopped to let her patient know what was going on sometime in the two months I've been receiving treatment and promises of "oh the doctor will definitely see you today" which I've stopped believing anyway.
