Very inefficient process for picking up patients after their scope procedures. I've been the driver for several of my relatives. Each time it varies. They used to allow relatives into the recovery area. Today I had to wait at the side door in my car. There were 4 cars contesting the aide exit area. There was no one to conduct the traffic and everyone wanted to be immediately outside the door to catch their anesthetized loved ones out in the summer heat. Granted, they were escorted but there wasn't much order to the GESW world. But I was parked outside precisely when told. I still waited another 20 minutes. There's just not much here to impress a would-be client. I'm going to find another set of docs to scope out my innards when the time comes. The front desk

Dr Angelina A. Villas -Adams, is an excellent doctor, who I have been seeing for many years, due to a complex medical condition. Year after year , I am continually treated by the front office staff , like they have never heard of me , and I might has well be a brand new patient to them. It does not make me feel herd or valued has a patient. It's like I'm just a $$$ to them , not an actual human. They seemto make things has difficult has possible , on top of an already different medical situation that needs constant screening. Super concerning I get messages in the patient portal, that clearly aren't met for me to read, saying I'm "complaining " when I'm literally just trying to follow orders from my doctor. I feel like , I'm damned if I do, damned if I don't with that front office. Year after year this is happening, it's so discouraging

My privacy was violated TWICE by the same person, the woman who checks you out. First time, I was lying in my bed, waiting to go for my procedure, when she pulled open the curtain and asked if I had taken the prep. She is NOT a/my doctor or nurse. After, when I was waiting to be checked out, I was kept waiting so long that my ride called me to ask what was going on. When I asked her what time it was, that same woman was eavesdropping my PRIVATE PHONE CALL and said what time it was. I was kept waiting for about 45 minutes, and I ended up leaving without any paperwork. She needs to be let go. She feels like the HIPPA rules don't apply to her.

Dr Gonzales was great- good bedside manner & explained the procedure in detail & answered all my questions thoroughly. However her precious anesthesiologist "Mikey" was downright rude & could use some coaching on how to treat patients respectfully. When I politely corrected the pronunciation of my name, he haughtily remarked "Liza/Lisa, whatever your name is..". I was nervous enough as it was in anticipation of getting knocked out, which has its risks, albeit minor. I'm sure he's burned out from long hours but nonetheless he wasn't very nice!

Their medical staff seems to know what they are doing - however, the billing department could not find their own ass for a hole in the ground. Absolutely horrible. Never able to tell exactly what their own charges are. Months later, new bills for seemingly invented fees. This facility fee is $1,000 - charged up front. Six months later, "Oh, no, that was $1,275!!!" Know your OWN FEES.Providers love to blame insurance companies... but a lot of this is complete and utter incompetence in and within providers businesses. -- Word to the wise, do not call - write letters, send with registered mail - clearly spell out that they have 14 days to respond. That makes interactions from your side legally binding upon providers.

SW Gastroenterology in Albuquerque, New Mexico gets a big F-MINUS!!! I am an established patient there; although it has been a few years since my last Colonoscopy. Unfortunately, last year i began having issues. SW Gastroenterology was booking months in advance and, my January 8, 2025 appt was just for a simple consultation in August, 2024. I have not been feeling well for a while. I called to verify my January 8 appt at the end of December. I called again to verify my appt on January 2 few days before the January 8 to reverify. I had been out of state doing some work on some property I would like to sell. I left five (5) days ahead of the january 8 appt. Unfortunately, a severe winter storm complicated things. i drove two states away, and received word about something that caused me to have to turn around and go back to the house. I then tried to book a flight to Albuquerque to make my appt. The flight cancelled on january 7. I was unable to make the appt, and called SW Gastroenterology ASAP. The woman who answered was so disgusted and so unhelpful, that she DID NOT EVEN BOTHER TO OFFER A TELEHEALTH APPT, WHICH COULD EASILY HAVE BEEN DONE FOR ME!!!! In fact, "the woman" at SW Gastroenterology has been a total, inconsiderate monster - who won't stop harassing me with numerous texts and emails about paying $50.00 for a missed appt fee. I have repeatedly apologized, and told her how how important the appt was for me because I have not been feeling well for a long time. This is not good enough for "this woman" who is seemingly relentless in being a vicious bully, and a worthless person to work in an office where the idea is to help people. Yes, I thought there could be a missed appointment fee, but at least she could have offered some sympathy and offered some options - WHICH SHE REFUSED TO DO! Not only is "the woman" at SW Gastroenterology being extremely hard-nosed, but she will not stop badgering me about the new $50 balance. Personally, I ought to send "the woman" at SW Gastroenterology a bill for $800 (EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS) for not bothering to convert my January 8, 2025 Consultation appt with Jeremy Ziegler, to a Telehealth appointment when she had the opportunity to do this Furthermore, theSW Gastroenterology bunch are arrogant - as though they are the only Gastroenterology physicians in the state of New Mexico. Guess what? They are not! There are many other G.I. Clinics that do things even better than SW Gastroenterology in New Mexico - and are much nicer to their patients; instead of the lazy, arrogant, inconsiderate, and so bored out of their minds Office/Billing Department Staff who leap at opportunities to bully and victimize their patients.

I had a horrible experience during my colonoscopy, the doctor was distracted and gossiping with his assistant during the whole procedure. Customer service and communications are substandard, unethical.

Been a patient of Villas-Adams for several years. Top Notch. I received a text, email & phone call from their office that said time to schedule an appointment. I called to do just that. I was told the earliest appointment. would be six months out, in August. I told them I was starting to have the same symptoms that brought me in the first place and I wasn't wild about the long wait. To make a long story short, I relented and told them to make the August appointment. I was then told the scheduling calendar for August had not been released yet and I needed to call back next week. You can't make this stuff up. Sorry to say this is not unusual trying to make any doctor appointments. Leaves a lot to be desired.

SW Gastroenterology Associates is terrible practice. Find an out-of-state gastroenterologist, in Arizona or Texas or Utah or Colorado. Do yourself a favor.
