After being horribly treated at the end of December, I went back in today with the intention of having my son's graduation quilt machine quilted. I spoke to the owners son for less than 3 minutes. He was snarky and rude. I had a vision for the quilt that would have become cost prohibitive, and he offered no solutions, granted his slimy, and snarky, attitude made me just want to leave. They have lost a customer.

Was not impressed and very disappointed in their customer service. I went in and was meeting my daughter and my 6 1/2 year old grandson there. I arrived first and underwent the temperature check and signed my name in on the list. As I passed through "the gate" I noticed two huge long arm quilting machines. I asked about having an already constructed quilt piece quilted and what the turn around time would be. The answer from the store clerk was that it would be a six week turn around because the woman who does the quilting is out for ankle surgery and no one is available at their store to do it. So, I asked the next question of if they had any referrals while their person is out on sick leave and the clerk's response to me was "we are not allowed to give out referrals because it conflicts with the woman who does it here". They must not have ever watched "Miracle on 34th Street"! And...they don't currently have someone in their shop to do the work!?! That was the beginning of the end for me. As I began to look around, which to me, didn't seem extraordinary (same stuff as any other quilt shop) to me. A few minutes Later, I hear my name being called. I came to the front and I see my daughter and grandson standing at the door. I was quickly told that children are not allowed in the store. I was shocked and felt very discriminated against. Why no children? Their answer to me was that there were "a lot of old people that come Into our shop" (there were two people in the shop at the time). Children have been home with their parents, home schooling for a year. They sanitize, wear masks just like the adults. How can they possibly be carrying extra germs?!? I rather think it's a bit hypocritical when you allow the parent without their children into the store. What's the difference?!? We left the store, called a couple of other quilt stores in the area, and even asked if they allowed children in their store. They would chuckle and think that was the strangest question for us to ask. Needless to say, their answers were "yes" they allow children into their store. We went to Nob Hill Fabrics. A small intimate store, with a very nice and welcoming store owner. To bring an end to this story...Nob Hill Fabrics made a $350.00 sale and Kokopelli Quilt store did not!

I'm loving the myriad of southwestern fabrics available here. So beautiful and fun! There's lots of other fabrics to choose from, of course. Service was terrific. Staff assisted me when I had no idea how to tackle a project I'm starting. There's fun classes available. I can't wait to take some quilting classes!

Just went to this store for the first time today and had a fantastic experience. Their selection of high-quality quilting cottons, quilting notions, cross-stitch kits and various quilting patterns and kits is really impressive. Additionally, the service was top-notch. I was travelling with a friend who had a quilting project she was purchasing fabric for. Aidan spent about an hour with us to help us figure out how much fabric we needed and giving several helpful tips along the way, she really went above and beyond. I could not have been happier, this was really the sort of service a hobbyist LOVES to get from their local store. My perception was that the majority of their fabric is from high-end designers and costs $10.50-$14.00/yard. it's not the cheapest place to buy yardage for quilting, but I think it's fair for the brands they carry and the excellent level of organization, breadth of selection, and customer-service quality.

I had been looking for a place that sold quality southwestern fabrics and quilting patterns and viola! I came upon the lovely store of Southwest Decoratives! I flew in from LA for the weekend and it was the first thing on my to do list and I had such a great time there! The two women working there were incredibly helpful and friendly without being over the top. The selection of route 66, Southwestern, Dia de los muertos, cowboy and native fabrics can not be beat! They also have a lovely variety of southwest fleece as well as regular types of fabric in typical patterns. They had a gigantic selection of quilt / wall hanging / craft and cross stitch patterns as well with the examples hung on the walls. It's probably a good thing I don't live closer because I might try to live in the shop. :) Definitely worth a trip! You won't be disappointed!

We visited this quilt shop on a trip to NM this past weekend. While the fabric and other quilting notions they had were nice, unfortunately, the staff's attitude lacks. We felt like we were somehow bothering them and were treated with an air of superiority not really welcomed. It's obvious to say we will not be back to this business.

When my sister visited from Arkansas last October with her friends, they insisted on visiting Southwest Decoratives and Kokopelli Quilting company. My sister loves cross stitching, and found several southwestern patterns based on Navajo rug that she just had to have. Her friend fell in love with the amazing selection of fabrics. She bought several yards of fabric. They both promised that they would come back again this coming October to find new treasures! Thanks for the amazing selection and very helpful staff!

BEWARE!! EXTREMELY RUDE STAFF! They have no people skills whatsoever, they are not welcoming, just extremely rude all around! They have a really UNFRIENDLY environment and it is really uncomfortable. SKIP and AVOID this place and support a store that WANTS your business. Will never go back!

The service was outstanding. Cindy helped a friend and myself get the correct amount of material. I had figured too much and she had a fabric app on her phone. Very friendly. I'm from out of town, and only here once or twice a year. But this will definitely be a stop not to miss. The unusual fabrics were fabulous.

I am stating my opinion (which is protected under 1st Amendment rights): I think it is poor business practice to hire an attorney firm so they will send a dissatisfied customer a letter threatening a lawsuit. Anyone want a copy?I think it is bullying. I think it is sad.I think such a threat is not a means to improve customer relations. I value my freedom to express negative consumer reviews, however, I think it is wrong to have to use one's retirement savings to pay an attorney to present my records of what I and techs consider flawed equipment and service.I think this lawsuit threat is a perfect indication of the type of customer service you can expect.Yelp's advice to businesses: "Litigation threats are not a good substitute for customer service." Hmmm, my opinion is Yelp is right.
