My granddaughter has been enrolled at Southwest Childcare Center for 3 months now and is thriving under their care. The teachers are always very friendly and helpful. I love the fact that they have special events for the families for the holidays.

Lack of communication. We were interested in enrolling our kids here and not once but twice they forgot to contact us the information. Also i did not like how in the infant room no one is wearing any booties over their shoes while the kids toys and hands are all over the floor collecting the dirt and germs. I will say the room was very small as well. The area for the kids to play in our back was hug which was a plus but it just seemed to lack communication between staff and I would say needs training in customer service. The staff was obviously not trained in what to do with angry parents or customers is more the word to be used and escalated the situation rather than calmly bringing it to an end or finding a solution. At this point i would recommend la petite or kinder care if your looking for care. They have nice prices and the facilities are a lot more cleaner than this one.

Horrible would be a gentle euphemism...I pulled my daughter outta here couple years ago & still hear the horror stories...honestly, my daugher was bitten over 20 times in the span of a year & their response at the end was that "This is just what kids do", really? In the summer they didnt take kids' sweaters off to play outside(since their a/c was cranked up so high inside the kids had to wear them) I picked up my daughter a couple times, her face (among all the others) all red & flustered saying she was hot and thirsty...wowNo structure either, all they're doing is babysitting and the kids run wild, no education. They offer food but chow time is just that~ one bowl in the middle of the table & the kids eat as fast as they can to make sure they're gonna get their portion, that's terrible on the digestive system at any age. When I did pull my daughter out they had her outside waiting, on the steps, with her belongings & a staff memeber standing up above. Real nice in the dead heat of summer. They say they are a 5-star rated facility, however when you observe how the rating system works, they need only a kitchen facility to attain this rating, ridiculous!Need I go on? Dont send your little ones here...They dont seem to care much

Southwest Child Care deserves five stars!! For three years now the Texas location has taken care of my now four year old daughter, and my youngest has been attending since she was three months old. The teachers are all so attentive to each child. They have so many areas with activities and huge outside play areas. Every meal and snack is healthy for the kids. They have appropriate nap times and bed times. The staff is always available to talk with you any time you want to discuss anything. My four year old has learned so much since she has been there and has so much fun every day. And my baby loves to go here. She reaches for them when I drop her off and never cries. My four year old had some health issues and dietary restrictions when she was younger, and the staff at Southwest Child Care were a life saver working with us through everything. Of course disgruntled employees will have nothing nice to say, but as a mother who has trusted these people with my children for years, I can say I would not send my kids anywhere else!

Where do I start? Would post many more stars if I could. This place is a part of our family after 11 years of sending kids here. During this time, every teacher and administrator has become a cherished friend and part of our children's lives. Our oldest still talks about how much he loved it here and how excellent the food is:-). Finding a place you trust with your kids is no easy task. We found that with southwest. Highly recommend you take a tour and see how great this place is for yourself.

DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS CENTER!!! I had my children here for five years and withdrew them today after a violent incident between the owner and a child. Police were called during this incident. The owner is only interested in your money. It is no longer family friendly.

After reading the reviews, I felt compelled to write about my own personal experience at South West Child Care Uptown.. I found them when my daughter was one. I started working the swing shift and needed a facility open late enough to leave my daughter (as I am a single mom with no immediate family in town). From the first day we walked in that place, everyone was great. Very welcoming and reassuring to this overbearing mama. Mind you, my daughter had been attending a different daycare facility with no major issues, however, it wasn't as great a place to be as I would have liked at the time. So this change was embraced with open arms and an open mind. Since then (and my daughter is 5 now), my daughter has flourished in so many ways. Her days are structured, and she never comes home without sharing something new she's learned for the day. She is loved by all the teachers and gets along with just about all the kids, though kids will be kids at times, I have never had an issue that went unaddressed by the staff here. My expectations have never been that my daughter will go to daycare and never have an issue with staff, other kids, her own rough day, etc. My expectation has always simply been that the staff be willing to take action and spend time communicating these issues with ME, the mother. And they have never failed to be present when an issue arises. And they never wait to let me know! There have been a few instances where my daughter is telling me about her day and she mentions something another child did that I do not want happening to my child and her teacher may not have seen the incident. I immediately contact the office or address the issue with her teachers the next morning when I take her back. And they are always quick to free up some time to hear from me about my concerns. My daughter is not the only child that attends this school. I do not expect that the staff focus on just my child, every child here matters. And that is how they treat them. Whether my daughter is experiencing another child's outburst or having one herself, staff supports all children in their care. The answer is not to punish the child acting out, but to find a way to help them succeed, as I would never want my daughter being dismissed or left behind in the classroom for being labeled as "the bad kid" and she has had her moments. As sweet as my child is, she is also perfectly sour at times. And I have never worried about how they will treat her when she is having a rough day. It is my job to keep tabs on my kid and to follow up with the school as they have so many kids to care for. And I am always aware of her day, and they never get tired of hearing from me when we need to speak our mind. It is a great place for any child to learn, love, and grow. For the most part, many of the staff when we started are still with this facility. And they all take the time to get the know the parents as well as the children in their class. I appreciate everything you all have done for my daughter and all the kids here at this facility. Though nothing is perfect, we've had many ups and downs, this place never stopped trying to work with us to ensure safety and stability. So grateful to have found such a wonderful place for my daughter to grow and experience being a child!

For parents looking for a safe daycare, you have found the one! We have been sending our son to Southwest Childcare Learning Center on Wyoming for 4years. He started out in the infant room and is now in the Preschool program. I can't say enough things about this location. All staff and very friendly, treat the children as if they are family. My son has multiple good allergies and they have done so well making sure he is safe at school. The communication amongst all staff is excellent. We were referred to this location by 2 other individuals who told there kiddos there since infancy. The center has changed drastically over the last few years, for the better. Very organized and clean. It was very very difficult for us to send out baby to daycare, but for 4 years we have had nothing but a positive experience and trust that our little one is in great hands. We have been blessed with ALL great feathers throughout the years. Thank you Southwest for treating us like family.

The staff and management are poor communicators, leaving huge gaps in information that, as a new transplant to the area searching for childcare for my two children, proved very frustrating. There are a number of hidden fees in addition to the regular tuition (you have to purchase a mat from them for naps and pay for the front entry key pad...huh?) and they still ask for parents' social security numbers. Who does that anymore? I have a PhD in educational leadership so I know what good ed leadership looks like. Southwest isn't it. I'm thankful I found better arrangements for my children.
