I take my son to this all inclusive center for mental health and hormone replacement therapy (HRT). I love the doctors, nurses and staff. They are patient and kind and very great with a diverse population. They also embrace technology and have their patient profiles online so that's super helpful. Tam or Tamara Saimons is a Nurse Practioner and has been EXCEPTIONAL in reaching out to us and ensuring we had the resources we needed! I love the nurse, Sam too.

I would also give them negative stars if I was able! This is by far the worst medical clinic I have ever visited. The staff do not ever follow up with patients, they don't send out blood and urine tests in a timely way, don't inform patients of the results of the tests, never answer the phone, they rarely have appointments available within six months and their general attitude is one of a big middle finger raised to your face. This is, in short, abysmal care. AVOID, GO ELSEWHERE, GO ANYWHERE ELSE!!!!!

This location of Southwest is just as bad, if not worse, than their Santa Fe location. If you're going here for care, PLEASE rethink your decision. I've been twice now and every time I am so triggered and flabbergasted at the ignorance I shake my head at myself for going. The Physician Assistants and/or Nurse Practitioners, in my experience, simply will not listen to you and treat you like a thinking, feeling human, no matter hard you try to get through to them. They jackhammer you with pressure to accept meds and treatments as if you're on their factory assembly line. I'm very concerned at the mental and emotional damage this clinic is doing to their patients.I've tried two different providers here now - they're not Dr's - and I'm done. I knew more about my health condition than both did, and received some downright crazy information from both that I'm still shocked at. I need support, empathy, guidance and expertise and this clinic offers none!! I feel for the people going here, needing care, and leaving feeling battered and stressed like I did.

Although interactions with the doctor were ok, the support staff is truly, truly awful. No messages get through to doctor, you get call-backs ( if ever) after weeks of waiting and they have no idea what the message was -- if it's urgent you are just flat out of luck. I switched to another provider because anything I asked for or discussed with my doctor just fell into some kind of netherland the records just didn't exist. Seriously, train your staff to be professional.

When an "associate" makes a decision to not pursue an important referral, without consulting your actual physician, there is cause for a red flag. It is simply wrong. Failing to notify the patient of this "decision" further strengthens the issue, especially when the patient is kept waiting and wondering in pain. I have absolutely NO recommendation for this office. Avoid it.

This is the worst primary care in NM. As a queer person, I wouldn't ever recommend this office to other LGBTQ patients or anyone. The front desk staff truly doesn't care at all about the patients coming through the door, over the phone, or via digital meetings. What rude demeanors. My test results have been incomplete in the past, they have actually had to apologize to me for not sending complete results which required additional treatment, and I have had to hound them for this type of info along with simple patient care like work notices. The staff is HORRIBLE at making their patients feel seen, heard, and cared for. For your own good, find another place to spend your time and money because SWC isn't worth it. They should actually be investigated

If I could give this place 0 stars, I certainly would. Having worked in healthcare education, and a spouse who works in healthcare I was highly disappointed at how I was treated as a patient who is pregnant. The appointment started out with being told it was "unfortunate" that I was pregnant. I was not seeking OB services today, but an outside concern unrelated to my pregnancy (a severe sinus infection). The provider, Par (an NP), refused to help provide solutions for me to alleviate my severe symptoms. He told me to contact my OBGYN and spent a total of 1 minute with me. As I began to cry due to frustration and feeling discriminated against he stood up and started to walk out of the room with no compassion. Upon contacting my OBGYN, she stated that he absolutely should have contacted her and they could have worked out a treatment plan together so as to not delay my treatment. Ladies, if you are pregnant- please advocate for yourselves from this unacceptable treatment from men. I'd to like to add that I have seen Kristina from here before and I have the utmost respect for her. However, neither myself or my spouse (also a patient there) will be returning to this place.

Perhaps the staffing has changed (based on previous reviews), but I've had nothing but positive, compassionate experiences at SCC (at Jefferson). Being queer, I have never, ever, EVER found a place for primary health care that is as wonderfully open, understanding, and informed as SCC. The fact that I was asked my preferred pronouns and name during intake are further proof that they care about you as a person. Case in point, after I established care (at the recommendation of a local friend who also is a patient), my primary care provider (Tam) listened to me for nearly an hour as I relayed my interest in dealing with my chronic pain. (Seriously. And not once did they hasten my dialogue.) When I offhandedly joked that I've been in pain for 20+ years, they became very concerned, asked several questions, and--long story short--referred me for X-rays, which revealed that I had moderate scoliosis (that NO other practitioner in 30+ years ever diagnosed--and I was a sickly kid and always at the doctor). No other practitioner ever believed I was in pain, so I just learned to deal with it. Tam's referral resulted in me getting into physical therapy for the first time in my life, through which I learned how the manage and mitigate my pain. People with chronic pain know how rare it is for practitioners to believe them, and I'm so grateful Tam did. I've been grateful for every bit of care I've received at SCC (including regular checkups and therapy), and will continue to go there for all of my medical needs.

I was referred to Southwest care for a diagnostic test. After the Doctor pointed out that I was not a patient of the clinic, she attempted to convince me that the test was unnecessary, unhelpful, and "expensive".When I persisted, she tried to tell me I had violated the three hour fasting period by having eaten seven hours earlier. Her last comment was that she would'nt know where to send the results. To my referring provider, maybe? If you don't want to do the test, don't accept the referral. But don't try to intimidate me. You are not my treating physician.Or is it that I am a Medicaid patient?
