Sopaipilla Cafe

Fantastic home style Mexican food in a bare bones location. Service was excellent and kitchen does a roaring trade in pick up orders.

Another trip to Santa Fe means a new place to try. This place has all the hallmarks of a hole in the wall - only bigger. It's located in a space of the adjoining motel. Our server got us seated with menus and got our drink order. I've been wanting a Navajo Taco, on the menu so easy choice. My wife got an order of Carne Asada Tacos. 3 street taco sized on a plate, beans and rice were small portions - just enough for us. The sopapillas served at the end were huge. Probably the largest we've ever been served. 1/2 eaten there the other made it home for later. It was nothing over the top or sensational. But it was good.

Another great hole in the wall Yelp find! Great New Mexican restaurant. I went for brunch on a Sunday. It was not busy at all. It would be if people new how dang good this food is!I got the chorizo breakfast sopaipilla. It was packed full of potatoes, eggs and chorizo. I got it topped with Red and Green Chilis. It was so dang good! The red sauce was spicy! But good. The service was excellent. I would come back.

Established local restaurant, great food, a little crowded inside sometimes, but that's because everyone knows they will get a solid meal! If you don't mind being squeezed into a corner (we didn't!), then hop on over for a great meal!

My chicharrone stuffed sopaipilla was delicous! The green was hotter and tastier than the red but I typically go green anyway. Salsa had a nice kick to it. Our waitress was friendly, pleasant and helpful. Don't pass by this little gem!

Excellent food and service! Spicy salsas and excellent sopaipilla. Highly recommend for a quick lunch.

Oh my! The food is amazing! I love the cheese enchiladas with green chili, but the Sopaipilla's are sinfully delicious! Evelyn's service was always warm and friendly!!

Nice small restaurant next to the hotel we stayed the night. The breakfast offerings there were less than desirable so we opted to pay for a little bite to eat before hitting the road. Such a sweet waitress was working that morning and complied with our request for a breakfast sandwich on a sopaipilla! So tasty and filling. The coffee was delicious and hot!Don't hesitate to give it a try!

Really happy we stopped by here. Trusted fellow yelpers review and it did not disappoint. The food is delicious and the customer service is great. Very pleasant and attentive.We got the green chili Sopaipilla, guacamole and chips, steak fajitas (so delicious), and the mini cinnamon Sopaipilla. Yum yum. It's a little hidden by the days inn motel. Don't let that steer you away. Give them a try ! Will be back if in the area!

Meh. Small portions, especially given the price. Posole was dry cubes of a rubbery ham and hominy - no broth/soup. Hardly any rice on the plate - I asked for rice instead of beans and barely got a serving of rice.Taste of everything was also meh. The green chili was modestly spicy, the red was dark but flat, no flavor, just heat. The sopapillas were fine, except the honey on the table was cut with corn syrup. Ask for honey packets instead.
