Sol Food Market & Cafe

What a wonderful restaurant. My companions and I decided to go to Sol Food Market and Café for a gourmet breakfast. We were not disappointed. I always like to try the wonderful abomination known as a cronut when it's on the menu. Chef did not disappoint. The cronut was fantastic. I had the occasion to order some of the cakes, for an event and all three of them were delicious. Do yourself a favor and try whatever he has on menu. The espresso was perhaps one of the best ones I have had in town.My companions and I had a number of items on the menu that were tempting. We eventually settled on the chili con papas, mile high omelette and Taos toast with bread on the side. We each decided that we would have to return to try the other tempting things. We were seated outside on the lovely patio, which will have live music to accompany your meal. The very friendly waitress quickly brought our food and as much as it pleased the eye it pleased thepallette. My oh my what wonderful fresh flavors. The Yukon potatoes were nice and crispy. The greens were fresh and brought alive by the balsamic dressing. The eggs were fluffy with of meat, cheese and vegetables. It is hard to remember when I had a better breakfast. While this restaurant is out of the way, it is definitely worth the drive and stop.We did return a few weeks later and had a couple of other items that were just as good as the above. What a wonderful way to spend a breakfast in the mountains.

This is a small village grocery. Usually these places are a little cheaper than supermarkets. Not this one. Expect to pay 2-3x the price you'd pay if you drove 5 more minutes into town.

When wandering into downtown Arroyo Seco we were somewhat famished after our 3 mile hike into town. Not much was open or wasn't opening until around 5pm. I think the cafe part of the place was closed for dining at but you could still purchase pre-made meals in the store next door to bring outside to eat. They were also kind enough to let me emergency use their bathroom. But we both got some burritos to go I think it was beef and black beans with rice and a variety of sweet peppers. Not bad tasting and a decent price. They have a lot of pretty cool looking food products if you're looking for a quick grocery run for a few things.

Hard to say anything about the food on this visit since we walked out after waiting several minutes at the counter to place our order. The two people at the register were too busy looking over cash register receipts to take our order. When we asked if they were ever going to take our order the woman was rude and had a very negative attitude. This was the third time there and each time the service has been bad.

Good food and great baked goods. The hummingbird cake is delicious. Nice people. I will be back to try more.

The cutest restaurant and marketplace! We enjoyed the patio so much that we came here every day during our stay in Arroyo Seco. They have an amazing breakfast and lunch selection as well as smoothies, juices and coffee. Tons of gluten free options as well!

Absolutely adore the vibe and location of this cafe. The day of this review I had fresh squeezed OJ and the "Goldy Hawn" LOX on a bagel sando. The servers are very attentive and have a good sense of sarcastic humor which can be greatly appreciated. I certainly will come back and hang out for the vibe alone. its open yet private and quiet yet loud enough to have somewhat of a private conversation.

This is the type of place you can bring anyone since they have a huge variety of breakfast items catering to meat-eaters, vegetarians, healthy or gluten free people. We always get The Amazon smoothie, so tasty! The only thing is their "hash brown" is really tiny fries like what you add on a hot dog, not really the traditional hash brown. We enjoyed the Garden medley omelet and the Vladdy sandwich

Used to be very easy to get around in the grocery store before they renovated it. You can't even find bread. The freezers/fridges are overstuffed. They carry nice brands and local produce, which I like. But you can't get down the isles. Not to mention, the service is terrible. No one is smiling, no one asks if you need help, all with RBF's. I needed to get some produce and one chick that was stocking gave me a really nasty look since I interrupted her. WOW. My bad. How about (smiles), "Hey, what can I help you find?" I'm local and won't be back.

I understand running a small food business is hard. That is no reason to treat guests with disrespect and impatience when they are unfamiliar with your menu, especially when you don't provide a menu for those waiting in line. I would suggest posting a menu above the counter or providing them at the door. There is no music playing either.They were training a new barista who wore pajamas to work. They were arguing the whole time, and the lack of music made their conversation very audible. I understand the job is stressful. However, please do not take it out on the guest. Otherwise, food was delicious. I got the Sol Sando with ham and it was fantastic. My girlfriend got the dragon smoothie and it made up for the lack of service. We all got to go food so we didn't stay long
