Sluggers Diner

Everyone is so nice. Service is quick. The hamburgers are excellent, but the fries are all grease. The fries were not hot.

Great food, very reasonable prices, a real hidden gem. Google Maps doesn't do a great job leading you here. It was weirdly hard to find. It is in thw same lot as a carwash. Another business' curbside sign for guns and ammo and the carwash itself draw the eye way more than the tiny sign for Sluggers. Parking is under the red overhang. I had the the day's special, chimichanga plate. It was really good! For me, the green chile was very mild but still tasty. Next time I would ask for spicier.

I was in Taos for the week with some life-long residents and we were eating all the "must-haves" while there. When we were looking for a lunch spot after driving the Enchanted Circle one day, my friend's dad insisted that we drive all the way up to Sluggers for the taquitos with queso & salsa. His praise had me so convinced I was going to eat like 30 tacquitos...until I saw the menu! They have so many things to choose from! I ended up with a carne adovada burrito--it was HUGE and very good, but I wish the beans were drained a little better. My friends had a green chile chicharron burrito, a red chile chicharron burrito, a fried chicken cranberry (?) sandwich, tacquitos, ribbon fries, and sweet potato fries (served with ranch, so I basically commandeered those...bc who doesn't love sweet potato fries served with ranch!?). Everyone loved their food, and there were no leftovers, so needless to say it was a successful lunch! Especially since it was so affordable!You order by walking up to the counter inside. There's a self-serve drink machine with Coke products, tea, etc. There's nice indoor seating or AMAZING outdoor seating which was well shaded in the late afternoon. The business looks family run and everyone was so nice and attentive. It's right next to a car wash, and I think it's a converted service station...but don't let that deter you! I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Taos! (edited for spelling errors)

I started writing my review but stopped thinking the burrito tasted so good because I was really hungry when I stopped by the diner. But no, after stopping by again I can say it is one of the best burritos in Taos. The carne avodado was tasty, and huge.The restaurant is located on the south side so it's a little hard to find. It was crowded with locals. The service was fast and the quality was excellent.

I feel dumb for not investigating this place sooner. I'm always complaining that there isn't a good burger spot in Taos anymore. Well I was wrong. I got a burger and it was so delicious. I don't like burgers that are too thick and raw in the middle. This burger was great! It had just the right kind of flavor. It's like an old school burger joint. They also have a ton of other options that I look forward to trying. I am extremely picky so my seal of approval is not given lightly. Thanks for existing in our town Sluggers! I will be recommending you to everyone.

Great food, great service, and very friendly. We ordered the Classic burger with tater tots and curly fries. The burger patties tasted fresh and not frozen. The fries and tater tots also tasted like the weren't from a frozen bag. We'll definitely return.

Cheeseburger and ribbon fries are so darn good, I finally found my new burger place. The taquitos are delicious too, I highly recommend Slugger's Diner!!

Burgers are good, rolled taquitos good, rest is all frozen and microwaved. WAY OVER PRICED, you get charged for every little thing you add to your order. Was not impressed how they treat their employees, I tried to give a tip and was rejected because they do not allow employees to receive tips.

Drove up and got down to order. As we walked to the door the employee locked the door and turned the sign to closed. It was well before closing and we were to talking to another patron who had just walked out. Won't bother again.

Driving down Paso del Pueblo Sur today we saw this little diner's sign and made a u-turn to eat there based on other reviews. So glad we did! Both of us got the hamburger, which was delicious, and dh got regular fries and I ordered sweet potato fries. Both were awesome. We ate at 5 Star Burgers last week, and in my opinion, this place beats them on taste and cleanliness hands down. They were also $17 cheaper. Give this place a try. You won't be disappointed.
