I realize there are some mixed reviews here, but my experience with Skarsgard has been thrilling. My produce is quality & fresh, many of their partnerships are local, and regional products include a description of the producer so you can see exactly where your food came from! I have been combing through their online ordering shop and am making my list of all the enticing options I plan to include in my upcoming orders (including their very own prepared local foods, like meal kits and grab-and-go options centered around seasonal produce). Their butcher shop offers NM grass fed beef, Kyzer farms pork, pasture raised chicken, and other pasture goodies. Local milks & alternatives. Fresh juice bar products, Michael Thomas Coffee, New Mexico Ferments Kombucha, Tea.o.graphy tea, in house made bakery noshes as well as other baked tempatations from Swiss Alps, Wolfe's Bagels, and Pastian's bakery. This service is exactly what I needed...I honestly have begun to loathe going into most public spaces these days, having access to this operation is very exciting for our family. The delivery was all that I'd hoped for. Gratitude Abundance Skarsgard Farms, I am so looking forward to our future orders...

I had ordered from Skarsgard when they were called Los Poblanos. This was over 10 yrs ago. They went through several transitions of how they made produce available here in Southern NM... from having a delivery van drive down here door to door, to sending it down and distributing it from a local farm, to distributing it from a local co-op. Finally, just before they stopped delivery down here altogether, we just stopped ordering because 1) The produce was not always fresh, and, most importantly 2) They often substituted produce, even though I had opted to not take substitutions. Now, under the Skarsgard name, and after the worst of Covid (so we hope), they are distributing to Southern NM again (all of NM, actually), via UPS overnight shipping. Currently, I have to say, that although shipping is more expensive than in the past, that this system seems to work better. Food comes in a cardboard box with insulation and a cold pack. Although there was only one small cold pack (no cold pack the first time :O ), the pack was still cold (not totally solid, but icy), and the food came cold. And for those concerned about the environment, all of the shipping packaging is recyclable. I am more into pre-made, ready to eat, meals these days (short on time and exhausted at the end of the day!), and their pre-made meals are pretty good, if not a little small and pricey. If you want foods without all the additives and extra salt, and are willing to pay the price, then this is a good option. The beef empanadas, smoked enchiladas, beef enchiladas, lasagna and parmesan chicken were good from frozen. Although the Parm chkn did have "hidden" msg derivatives (google "hidden msg"), my bad for not looking closer at the ingredients which are clearly listed on their page. Their meatloaf and potatoes were pretty good. The Skarsgard branded jarred red chile sauce is TDF! Not too watery and perfect! Substitutions? Have not been a problem, yet. They list the quantities of items and when they run out, they no longer take any orders. If you want substitutions (I guess in case something goes wrong), you may opt to do so when you set up your account, and when you order. As for them being a "distributor only", as one reviewer wrote, they DO distribute organic produce from other sources that they partner with, but some produce IS grown on their farm. You won't find oranges grown in NM, so naturally these are from another farm! The prepared foods are made in house under their division known as "The Stand". Good to see things from the past that they still carry, such as the Tucumcari Mountain Cheese selection and Sage Bakery Sourdough bread (THE best!). And for those who are upset about items from Santa Fe, claiming that that is not local... (eye roll), of course Santa Fe is local!!! Geese, it's only 60 miles away! Albuq and Santa Fe are a metropolis. Just like Las Cruces and El Paso. El Paso is local to us, as SF is local to Albuq. When you can drive from one place to the other with refrigerated or frozen items and they are still cold at the other end, it is local! Same with warm foods. And believe you me, I've done the trips (both) several times! Get over yourselves. Jeese, even Tucumcari is local when you live in New Mexico (forget hot or cold food tho, but just cus!)!

I've known about Skarsgard Farms delivery service for quite some time. But not until I saw they were offering Colorado peaches did I place my first order. (I have to say that the poor quality of produce in grocery stores has me searching for alternatives, including growing my own vegetables.) I placed a pretty good size order for peaches and they arrived in PERFECT condition. They were carefully packed, not a single bruise on any of them. They were picked at the perfect time because when they arrived, I found one ready to eat but the others needed just a couple days before reaching ultimate ripeness. Having these wonderful peaches at my doorstep made me feel like a kid again---back when fruit was tasty and local!

When I opened my first box I smiled. So they had me at "hello." Eyes wide open, I took in the fresh sourdough bread, beefsteak tomatoes, butter lettuce from Silver Leaf farms in Corrales and peach wood smoked maple bacon. A BLT was in my future. Even the gyro meal kit brown butter chocolate chip cookie were calling my name. But I knew I had all week to enjoy everything. I never smiled at my groceries or produce from any local grocer-ever. Way to go Skarsgard Farms!

This business is clearly trying to find its stride, and with that comes some operational bumps. In a market of increasingly expanding options when it comes to home food delivery, this local option intrigued me. It was recommended to me by a friend who has been using it for a month now and has thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm a big fan of supporting local businesses, and a big fan of my food being fresh, so i wanted to give it a try.I had some initial issues with the website glitching my account, and the response time to my inquiry about this issue was slow (in comparison to larger businesses) However, once addressed the issue was fixed quickly and efficiently. Overall it was an experience that did not inhibit my enjoyment of shopping their website.Once I put in my order and signed up for the overnight drop off I could not find my order in in the morning, because it was delivered to my neighbor's house. Because of this it spent more time on the porch and more time out of the refrigerator than I would have preferred. I was given a discount on the delivery and notes were made on my account so that the right house could be found next time. I live in a home/neighborhood that really shouldn't require special instructions, but response time to this issue was quick and efficient. The produce weve used so far is exceptional. My daughter ate a whole tomato, like an apple, and wanted more. I was disappointed to find the bacon packaged in New Jersey (that's quite a stretch on "regional") but everything else has been fantastic. I will order again. What they lack right now in organization is made up for in quality and knowing we're supporting local.

I placed an order with Skarsgard Farms after a neighbor recommended them. Although I ordered online nearly a week ago and it was supposed to be delivered yesterday, my food didn't arrive.Because I was out shopping for groceries Wednesday, I could have purchased all these much needed items from Trader Joes. Instead I'll have to risk my health again today to go out and see what I can find of my most necessary food items like bread, milk and eggs.Skarsgard isn't answering the phone (the message box is full) and doesn't respond to e-mail. The phone message says Thursday customers will get their food Friday or Saturday. No! I want a refund because I need everything on my order now. Although I understand the excessive demand created by Covid 19 and the need to keep your staff healthy, your lack of response and lack of ability to deliver items order many days ago is intolerable. Delaying delivery of orders to other days without calling the customer is unacceptable. Of course most of us will make other plans and will not longer need what you deliver.

Not only has food been of poor quality for most of my time purchasing it, but now orders are not coming even though they are charging for them. They've taken almost 200 dollars from me now without delivering food. Right now when we need it most, someone is either stealing our food or they decided it was easier to not send out orders. I guess I'll never know. For what it's worth, we canceled in the past and just started up again while staying at home. Going to cancel again now that we're not getting anything at all. Hopefully we can get the money back to spend elsewhere. Good luck if you choose to order from skarsgard.

I was hoping to find local farm fresh fruit and vegetables. This is a distributor at best. I ordered my first order and almost 1/2 of what I received was spoiled. Almost all items had produce stickers from Mexico or out if state. NOT LOCAL They were quick to credit my account for the items that were bad however nothing I ordered lasted even 2 days. All was moldy or spoiled within 48 hours so could not have been fresh. Took a chance and irdered 1 large and 2 small pies the next week. The large peach pie looks and tastes like it's made with peach preserves. Horrible and in the trash. Received only 1 of the 2 apple pies and they are made in Santa Fe. Not local. I've closed my account and will not go back. Sad really, was hoping for a true local farm.

What happened Skarsgard? We used to be close...before the pandemic. Now, I have been ghosted, over-charged, left wondering...why? Sadly, I have not only discontinued my current deliveries, but I will never come back.

I used to get deliveries from Skarsgard Farms for years. Then Whole Foods began to deliver to my area. Whole Foods has a lot more variety and Skarsgard Farms has less variety than ever. Their organic produce doesn't even fill one page. It used to be about three pages. It looks to me like they've become a middleman that sells things produced by somebody else. The burritos come from the Frontier, they have a bunch of stuff made by Tullys but it doesn't look like they make much themselves anymore unless it's pastries. Or maybe the soups and the green chili stew but it's just not enough. I wrote to them about this before and they said they were moving to a new location at the time and this is months ago. I don't see how I'll ever be able to order from them again. Not only does Whole Foods have more variety but they deliver to my area on whatever day I choose. I'd like to buy local but they're gonna have to step up their game if they want to compete.
