Beware, they will overcharge you in a heartbeat. My brother was visiting and wanted to take some chiles back home. I wasn't supervising and he ordered two bushels of Chile, roasted. Did they guide him to just buy a sack? No. Also they charged him the $5 roasting fee twice. So a sack's worth of chiles came out to $68 or so with tax. Rip off. I'm going back to Chile Konnection from now on.

This cute little stand just south of Lomas delivers some powerful chiles and chile-related spices, ristras, and local produce, and the peeps manning the register are very informative and friendly. As a longtime local myself, I rarely bat an eye and often wince at touristy New Mexican goods (hot sauces, Route 66 plaques, Indian keepsakes and yes, even ristras), but the peppered decorations hanging from this tent are money. I love the red/yellow/green/orange stacks, and all of them have clearly been strung very recently, they have a shiny lustre that beats the competition. The website has an instructional video on how to make your own ristra, too. This dynamic color palate will permeate your order of roasted chiles. When I got home and divvied up the sack, I found red and orange varieties all up in the mix, something I personally find divine. In the heart of winter I often throw together a big batch of chile stew and the orange peppers add unique flavor and color to the mix, I'm looking forward to the months ahead. This company has roots going back to 1869; they're growing in the Rio Grande valley and you can be sure that while the price is premium, so are the peppers. One cautionary note: the second time I visited, customer service was classic New Mexico: friendly, conversational, and unbelievably SLOW. They had a lot of orders to fill, so I understood, but customers should be warned when they're going to be waiting 30 minutes, as my lunch date was delayed. A 35-pound sack ran $32.95 w/tax.

Went here on a tip from fellow yelper Charles K.The first thing I did was try an extra hot green chile which was a semi hallucinogenic experience. I tried not focus on the pain in my mouth and had to transport mentally to my happy place until my tongue stopped throbbing.Everything is grown right in Albuquerque by this quintessential looking family of farmers. They also had fresh green and red chile which was not hot but very flavorful as well as a small selection of other farmed goodies like apples. Just before your hot date if you are hoping to get lucky I suggest you go to bask in the aromatic exhaust of the chile roasters until you're nice and irresistibly saturated.Funky Mama

Great spot for chile, service and a friendly conversation with the employees. I stop to purchase some of there fresh apple and to take some photos. I was speaking to the employee and she stated that they now grow their chile south of Socorro, they use to grow it in Los Lunas.

Absolutely recommend this place. Eleanor and Rose helped us out and they were super nice. People need to understand these chilie are fresh so sometimes they can run out. This is common at all fresh farms and stands. They service and products were top notch. It's fun to read the negative reviews and see one complaint about being overcharged $5 for roasting. I always pay attention to my receipt and have never had an issue is a business makes a mistake. Also we shop at a lot of NM farms and if love this place.

Greet green Chile. I buy the frozen hot variety to last me through a year. Neat outdoor market. Will be closing until next year soon.

They've gone downhill. This used to be the best place to buy both red and green chile but more. Their selection of produce is limited to mostly pinto beans and gourds. They no longer carry the red chile which is shown in their photo. They don't answer their phone (by their own admission) and inform you not to leave a message because they won't call you back. So, if you have a question, too bad so sad.Their Sandia hot is an absolute disgrace. It's stringy and small. Rendering it nearly impossible to peel. It's like they mix their Sandia hot with their regular hot. They're shady. Not what it used to be.Go elsewhere where you're treated like a valued customer.

N.B. The BUYER BEWARE post I left was NOT regarding the Sichler Farms stand in Albuquerque. My bad experience was with Sichler Farms in Los Lunas, NM.

This is absolutely the best place to get chile in Albuquerque! This is the 4th year in a row we have gotten our chile from Sichlers, and as always we are happy. Usually we buy a sack each of hot and extra hot green, but this year we got a sack of extra hot green and a sack of hot red. They are both sooooo good! I also love picking out a new ristra every year from their beautiful selection.
