Santiago's New Mexican Grill

Found this little hidden gem because we wanted to try something new. Boy did it deliver! It is at the end of an unassuming strip mall, right next to U-Haul so if you're not looking, you'll drive right past like we have a hundred times. The menu is simple New Mexican food done well: enchiladas, tamales, burritos, burgers, etc as well as daily breakfast and lunch specials. The green chile is roasted daily by the owner and SO delicious. Everything is hand made to order but it's no slower than any other restaurant and arrives hot! While you order at the counter and the food is brought to you, the staff was very attentive and kind. The interior is clean but nothing special; I guess the effort goes into the service and food! Sadly, the road construction is cutting into their business because access is terrible but they are hanging in there. Since they've been around since the 80's, I suspect they make it through this hiccup. Do them a favor and give them your business. You won't regret it.

I only came for their double green Chile cheeseburger and boy did they deliver. No one really talks much about this place. It is a hole in the wall. Private parking available outside. They also have weird hours, so please be sure to check the hours before you arrive. 110% order the green Chile cheeseburger - make it a double and you won't regret it.

So this is a real mom and pop place. Does not stand out at all. OMG they serve spam here, that is a major plus. You order at a little window when you walk in. Then menus are on paper. They do not come to your table to take your order Have to say the food is amazing here. The food is made fresh. The owner takes pride in the food So maybe a little in the greasy side but great flavor. Inside is nothing special as it is a very plain location

It's crazy to think that I've lived so close to Santiago's and only recently went for the first time.It's totally your typical New Mexican hole in the wall in the best way. You can tell it ran and just has a very casual atmosphere. They have all of the essentials including green chile cheeseburgers, and great breakfast burritos. The price for a green chile cheeseburger combo was about $16 which feels a little high but so does everything else these days. Definitely way better quality than going through a drive-through somewhere. Service was fast and friendly, again they definitely have that at home feel.

We've been by here 3 times on various weekdays around lunch time. Based on hours the business posted on Yelp they should be open. The hours are gone from their door sign. Don't waste your time coming by here. Who knows whether they are still in business?

This is truly authentic New Mexican food. The service was excellent and friendly. Perfect hole in the wall place with great food and great people! We will be back!

Tried this place after hearing about it on Albuquerque Foodies page. It is a small family run business with a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. The table of Mary Kay products for sale in the corner of the restaurant reminded me of my childhood years. I probably should have tried the Chile relleno or enchilada, but went with the Sopa burger because I'd never tried one before. My husband got the green Chile cheeseburger. Both of our burgers were flavorful, but the meat was dry and over cooked. If I try their burger again, I would ask them for med cook on the meat. The meat patty was thicker and larger than I expected, so that was a plus. The fries were perfectly cooked! Crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. It was a busy place with LOTS of regulars who knew them by name. I loved the atmosphere. I will probably be back again when I'm in the area to try their other items.

We drove a long way today to try a restaurant that has great reviews so we were excited about it. First off I think the service here is great with the exception of one thing, we ran out of chips not even halfway through our guacamole and we weren't brought or offered anymore. Our drinks were kept full though and that's a plus! I ordered the huevos rancheros con carne plus an extra beef patty with red chile. The red chile isn't hot but it has a good taste. The meat itself had a little aftertaste I didn't care for. Maybe the meat was old or something, maybe it wasn't seasoned enough. This plate would be great adding some beans to it. My daughter had a GCCB combo and she gave me a bite. It is a 6oz patty and it didn't have the same weird taste the hamburger patties did on my plate. Sounds weird I know but I'm being totally honest. I think the burger was good. The green chile didn't have any heat at all. She got a good portion of fries and they were ok. We love guacamole so we got a half order of chips and guacamole and there was a good amount of guacamole but very little chips. The chips were good too so I was hoping the waitress would bring or offer us more but she never did. l like the ambiance here, it has that grandmas house type of feel and the staff is very friendly. I think this place is a must visit at least once to make your own conclusions. Probably be back someday to try something else and give a fuller review.

I've eaten here several times and this place is truly a hidden gem in a little strip mall on Eubank in Albuquerque. Their green chile cheese burger is the best. I find that it rivals the famous Luguna Burger and others in the state. I highly recommend getting the fries with the burger as they are fantastic. They should teach McDonald's how to cook fries. The service is phenomenal. My drink glass never got empty. The place was clean and tended to regularly. Little information-- when you come in, go to the counter to order, instead of waiting for someone to take your order. HAVE A SEAT AND ENJOY!!

This place is amazing. Food is nice and hot service is impeccable. Ladies here are always smiling really feel like family vibes. They also do catering so if you guys need food come to Santiago's Mexican restaurant and get your catering done.
