DON'T buy the donuts! My wife and I were looking for a little evening dessert with our daughters. Our girls got the ice cream and we got two donuts. The donuts were so bad I had to spit mine out into my napkin, and my wife, who LOVES dessert, threw hers out after just one bite. My wife asked the clerk if the donuts had been there for a while because they tasted so bad. The clerk just looked at her and said "oh, I'm sorry", and walked away. He didn't offer her something else, or her money back. NOT great customer service! So my advice, DO NOT DONUT!

Slipped inside because I couldn't feel my fingers. Ordered the honeybee (espresso with honey, lavender, and steamed milk) and the very last pastry in the case--a blue corn lavender doughnut. The latte didn't do anything for me...it was overly sweet without really tasting of honey or lavender, and was too thick or something. The doughnut, however, was a different story. The blue cornmeal gave it a really nice texture--a bit crunchy, and the icing had actual lavender, not just flavoring. Best $2 I've spent today! They also have Hagen Daaz, for those who are into eating ice cream when it's 33° outside.

Place is dirty but sufficient if you want quick coffee and are not picky about quality. Overpriced. People are here for the ice cream and not the coffee.

If you're tired of Starbucks (and you should be) this is a good local place to get some coffee, or a huge cookie, or some ice cream, or some really cute wooden donkeys. Right off the Plaza as well. Not saying I don't like Starbucks, just saying you can probably go there anywhere, anytime.

Went for a Mocha think I was served hot chocolate. Its a nice place serves mostly Ice cream. They moved a long line fast. I saw them pull a shot, I ordered the 16oz. But it tasted like hot chocolate and I still need to take a nap. Great location. Courteous staff.

This review is for The Black Burro, located in the rear of the SF Espresso building. My husband and I had a wonderful experience at the shop. We had our toddler with us, and the ladies at the cashier were not only polite, but quick and incredibly friendly. They made my husband's cappuccino at light speed. The cherry on the top? A 20% military discount. We were grateful for every second of our visit and will return regularly when we visit. Thanks y'all!

Adorable place and the people are SO friendly! We got drinks only and we're very pleased. If the free sample of chocolate is any indication of the rest of there sweets--they're delicious!

Espresso roast isn't local (from MN) but it's tasty; not sharp or bitter nor is it tasteless and bland. Also have organic tea choices and tasty donuts provided by a local bakery.

This is a Haagen Dazs ice cream shop. I was fooled into thinking it was a cute local cafe but it's a chain ice cream shop that sells terrible coffee, hot chocolate, and other beverages. They should simply stick to the ice cream-the hot drinks are not good.

Vanilla Latte was not good, but the Tropical Smoothie was good. It's mostly an ice cream shop, not a café.
