Sandia Resort & Casino

So many positives about Sandia Resort. My king room was enormous with a view of the mountains and driving range. The furniture was in excellent shape, the bed was nice and comfortable. Instant hot water is appreciated. The only criticism is the bathroom mirror lighting was not bright enough for shaving per my husband. I would appreciate tile or wood flooring instead of carpet in my room, especially since this is a pet friendly resort. There are many dining options available, even more than listed on the website. The Sport Book Bar was massive and beautifully decorated for the holidays.I noticed at least 6 different company Christmas parties happening simultaneously in the multiple sizable ballrooms. One of the lounge areas had a live band and dance floor near the entrance of the expansive Casino. For comparison, if you've ever been to The Inn of the Mountain Gods in Mescalero NM, I can tell you the Sandia Casino was at least four times bigger. The outdoor pool was closed but it looked very nice. I intend to revisit in the spring when I hope to find it open. The grounds are meticulously cared for. The views go on forever, especially from the roof top restaurant. Gorgeous. I recommend a high room floor for the best views Plenty of security personnel all around the facility. Sandia Resort is a gem and I look forward to many more stays.

Wife and I enjoyed a nice weekend stay for our anniversary two weeks ago. We had a great stay and they accommodated our mountain view request with a room on the top floor. I was a little taken aback by the fact that they don't allow alcohol on the casino floor. But everything else from the food to the resort amenities were great!

I had several hours to kill late at night while waiting for a flight to arrive at the Alb airport so I decided a nice cozy casino that was well lit, had free coffee and live music seemed like a good idea. I spent about four hours at the blackjack tables, my luck going back and forth, not really doing much but breaking even. I didn't mind though. The casino was well taken care of, unlike so many of them that seem just run down. I don't gamble frequently but I will keep this one in mind the next time I get the urge.

Simple but fun casino. There's always live bands, clean rooms, and fun games. Also an amphitheater for concerts.

Upon our arrival, we got off to a kind of a rocky start starting with the doorman telling me to move my car before I checked in, followed by being given a room on the third floor which faced a huge AC unit obscuring much of view. We left that room and were able to get a room on the sixth floor where the view was perfect. As a matter of fact, I definitely recommend the higher floors for a great view. One thing we always do before we settle in a room is to pull back the sheets to see how the mattress/pad looks. Unfortunately, there was just one thin sheet separating us from a very soiled mattress pad along with strands of hair (see photo). We decided to live with it since there were not a lot of rooms available. We would stay here again, but we would appreciate it if housekeeping would at least clean the mattress pad. I'll leave off here with the pros and cons.Room Pros. Comfy matress, excellent light blocking window shades, good tv, spacious nice bathroom with rain shower head and multi-light setting mirror. Kuerig, quiet AC, free bottled water, room safe, mini fridge, iron/table, makeup mirror, conjoining rooms. Instant hot shower water. Room cons. No microwave, carpeting instead of laminate flooring, no pen or stationary. Resort pros. Great pool with bar, excellent coffee shop (Kiva) serving starbucks and a vast variety of pastries, deserts and salads. Small gift shop main floor. There's a nice restaurant next to the coffee bar, gorgeous pallacial architecture, huge ball rooms for conferences, casino with 100's of slot machines, roulet, crap tables and separate rooms for poker and bingo. Customer service that puts the customer first, security is everywhere you turn, spa and golf course. There's a fitness center, sports bar on 3rd floor and a restaurant on the 8th. Vending and ice machines on every floor.Resort cons. you're not allowed to bring any alcohol from outside the resort to your room (however they do have a few alcoholic choices in the gift shop, which they will allow). No smoking allowed on the premises. The sports bar is closed Tuesday-Wed and the restaurant on the top floor is closed on Monday and Tuesday. The pool bar seems to be only intermittently open.

I suppose it would be ok if you don't mind inept service, crooked dealers and not being able to order a proper drink.

Relaxing as all heck! (The spa). Definitely recommend. We did the 4 hrs of spa relaxation, and then dinner at the golf course restaurant. Get the French fries! Didn't go over to the casino, but as far as the food and the spa- definitely recommended for those seeking a relaxing day.

I could have taken my family to Golden Corral for better BBQ for the same price. My wallet and stomach are feeling light after eating at the west casino food and beverage cafe. I did not know what to eat so I settled on the Pork Ribs Special. At $32 for the plate, I am thinking this is how it is in all of their sports bars and restaurants.I declined the $15 Fish & Chips special.Save yourself some money and find value back in the city.

First time visiting this casino. It was super big. Very clean and very fancy. We had a great time playing new games we've only seen on YouTube! I had an absolute blast. Next time we are in the area we will be returning for sure.

Was here for a conference. The property is very immaculate, nothing like the Las Vegas casinos. The food was good. The casino did not reek of smoke, and wasn't too crowded. The location is nice if you wanted to get a short hike in while you're there. Just off I-25 making the location quite convenient. Tons of parking available.
