My wife and I have been trying to get to Sammy's since they opened. I am so thrilled. We finally made it on Saturday. The inside is modern, clean and all the plants are my fav. The customer service was excellent, we honestly wanted everything on the menu so we ordered exactly what the worker recommended. His favorite was the Italian grinder and we chose the cob as well. We also ordered a cereal milk latte, which had fruity loops on top as an adult that totally brought me back to my childhoodFor the sandwich, let's start talking about this bread. It is so fresh and soft but yet has that crunchy crust on the outside. Phenomenal and the meats they chose with the banana peppers and the pickled onions. This Italian sub was by far my favorite I've had in New Mexico. For the Cobb salad, it was very fresh crunchy the eggs everything was just very well balanced, and super fresh. I enjoyed that you can sit inside or outside on the patio. We definitely want to go back and try the bagel sandwiches or even the baked goodies! I was eyeing that blueberry muffin so next time

Downtown is by far the best area in town when it comes to great lunch spots. You have some amazing gems, including My Mom's, Es Que Market, and now, Sammy's. Sammy's brings a more deli style option to the area. I love that. They focus on collaborations with other businesses, including sourcing their baked goods from Knead and bagels from Sunday Bagels.I grabbed a couple different things, including a pumpkin doughnut from Knead, pecan latte with oat milk, and the bagel lox sandwich. Everything was really good, especially the pecan latte which I don't think I've tried anything similar. The bagel sandwich was great, it did seem to be made to eaten more as a sandwich than two slices of a bagel but still good. The space is really cute, lots of windows.

My first visit to this café was on January 30, 2025. It's in a great location, just on the west side of downtown Albuquerque. There is ample parking. It has fantastic natural lighting. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Decor is upbeat and modern. It may seem pedantic to describe a sandwich in detail. However, for me, the Cubano is a good test of sandwich integrity. There are only a few ingredients and this one is a great example of simple things done well.! The bread was particularly interesting ; had a great crumb and just a tiny bit of char, which I like. Pickles and just the right amount of mustard, so yummy. Sammy's is connected to several other interesting places, and I intend to return to explore them as well.

Is it getting warmer? Or is it just that we are excited about presenting a review of a relatively new restaurant located between Albuquerque's new and old town? Yup, right on Central. Sammy's Cafe and Deli is located within Ex Novo in the old Firestone building. It offers impressive, tasty food, friendly service, and interesting minimalist decor that will make you want to return. I was excited to try this restaurant because the cereal latte sounded amazing and it was! Worth going just for that. I ordered a smothered breakfast burrito and it looked amazing, but the red chile was sugary. I've never had sweet red chile before and I couldn't really believe that was what I was eating. I finished the burrito because I was famished, but it was awful.

First time today...had lunch with my daughter. Tried the Grinder and the Reuben. Grinder gets 5 stars and the Reuben 3 stars. We each had a half. I'm a traditional Reuben guy, I guess. Not saying it wasn't good but, personally, as I said, I would prefer something closer to thousand Island and sauerkraut. Great people and the diner itself is very nice. I plan on returning for a Cubano.

We came to Sammy's for brunch this past Sunday. We got a the Sunday bagel and Lox, 3 Cheese toastie, and Ancho Chile Turkey croissant. I am always a fan of salmon and they completely hit it out of the park with this Sunday Lox. I wanted a breakfast side so we ordered the house potatoes and yum they are the twice fried potatoes. So delicious! There was a stead flow of customers but we were able to sit and enjoy our time there with feeling rushed. The vibe of Sammy's is so bright and inviting. The large bay windows are great for people watching and catching some rays. I'm glad there is a new breakfast spot downtown that inviting and super welcoming .

We continue in our exploration of breakfast and brunch places and today was Sammy's turn. Right in the heart of downtown ABQ, this new place shares space and kitchen with Ex Novo. The casual dining vibe is evident from the moment you come in. The menu is simple but inviting. We ordered the crazy Reuben, the steak and eggs, a pistachio croissant, and the green chile chai. The crazy Reuben is actually crazy, as the sauerkraut was sweet and the whole sandwich was delicious. The steak and eggs were great with a thick cut of medium skirt steak, crispy potato cubes, and quite tasty salad. The pistachio croissant was delicious and perfectly sweet. Last, the green chile chai had a nice tingling spice start with the sweetness of a regular chai at the end. If I could change one thing, it would be the timing for the food. Unfortunately, the Reuben came out fast and first, while the steak and eggs came a good 10 minutes after. Overall, this place was worth the drive and the steak was worth the wait. Minor changes and better communication is all it needs to be amazing.

Was extremely excited to see "house made corned beef" on the menu, but that gave way to disappointment right quick. The "corned beef" is grey all the way thru...so not corned beef, just sad roast beef. Unfortunately, I was famished/didn't think to take a picture.

Eaten here twice now. Nice ambiance, fast service, simple menu. Had the grinder once and the bread was a bit hard. Had the bagel sandwhich another time, which was excellent.
