I love this place. Kyli is an absolute pro and has been fantastic in my hair growth journey and maintaining my highlights. Online booking is a huge plus and everyone is friendly and professional. Also, they have snacks and good music. So glad I found this salon!

I've had a a very disturbing experience with Salon BlackAfter receiving a hair color treatment - I was told that salon no longer wanted me to return.Of course - I asked why - to understand -and the Owner hung up on me.It was so weird to have such negativity targeted on me - I was completely bewildered. I do not understand what or why I was treated so rudely.Something very weird going on there.

I cannot believe the horrific haircut I just got yesterday from Justice at Salon Black. I wasn't going to drop names, and I certainly don't 'want' to damage a stylist's rep, but this is bad, and I think potential patrons have a right to know. Check out the photos. These photos are before styling, but I am showing the unevenness. It's wacky. I bent it and sprayed it into somewhat submission.... But it's still bad. I spent 111 dollars on this cut (that's with a tip). I thought that since this stylist charges a pretty hefty fee that the service/product would be exceptional. I am beyond disappointed. It's not even like I simply didn't get the cut I wanted; it's the cut from hell. I could go on - like about how I specifically said when I wear my hair straight, I like it straight - and it was styled straight - blow out - with little curls at the bottom. Ugh. And I fear it was cut in that fashion, too. I'll find out when I wash it. I'm giving two starts because the stylist was pleasant and I was greeted warmly when I arrived (Justice was not around when I left).

I looked for a salon with good vibes and found it!Bridget & Yvonne are experts. There was no hesitation about my natural black hair. The best hair care I've had since Chicago.A woman-owned and laid-back and highly professional business.

Justice did an amazing job! I loved that Justice really took the time to listen to what I wanted and explained everything along the way. This was my first time booking at Salon Black & overall the environment of the salon is so relaxing and I felt very comfortable. I'll definitely be back :)

This is the best salon in town. Period. I have been seeing Bridget for the past three years and I am so happy she opened her own salon. Bridget saved my hair from bad decisions multiple times. The salon is the most welcoming and accepting salon ever. They are all masters of hair and always offer amazing treatments. There are very few salons who know how to treat/cut curly hair, and Salon Black is the #1 on my list. I always leave feeling empowered and hot! They also do a lot of community engagement and support activities, which is so crucial for our city and state. Bridget and team, thank you for everything you do!

Kim was amazing! I have thin, flat hair and Kim took extreme care to give my hair a healthy, vibrant look. From blah to ahhh - amazing! Thanks Kim!

The aesthetic is minimalistic Boho. The hairstylist is kind and knowledgeable of curly hair. Also the snacks and drinks offered while you wait is great!

Friendly staff, cool, clean, nice environment... but honestly I wouldn't recommend this place for curly haired folk. Plain and simply because that's just not their specialty.. I wanted a slight trim and just a little shaping with my haircut after growing my hair for about 4 years... and they cut off waaaaayyyy more than I wanted and I had to start my hair growth journey completely over. /: my haircut was nice, but just not at all what I was looking for..

Environment and staff were very kind and welcoming. I got a haircut from Reina and she did exactly what I asked for. She was super kind and gentle. I highly recommend Reina and Salon Black.
