I want to start off by saying that nine times out of 10 when I order Pad Thai I instantly regret it. There was a place in the bay area that destroyed the dish for me, because it was so good, but nothing has ever compared.Anyways, on a whim, I decided to try the shrimp pad Thai here at Sala. It was right before they closed around 8:30 and I just walked up to the window to order. The food was quick, took maybe 10 minutes at the most. Service was friendly and although it's just a walk up window, you can tell this is the definition of a hole in the wall.Anyways, back to that pad Thai. Often my issue with the dish is when there's too much sauce, and it gets soggy. Plus the flavor can be hard to perfect. This pad Thai was some of the best I've had since my favorite spot in the bay. I was really really happy with the flavor and texture. I ordered a one on the spice scale, and it had a little bit of a kick, but it was really good. I will say the portion was a little on the smaller size, but it was well worth it. I will definitely be back.

I hadn't been to Sala thai since their move to its new location. The new location is off of Richmond just down a few blocks from their original location. All orders are to-go only and to order, you call them. Upon arrival you walk up to the window to pay and to pick up your food. The food has stayed the same in the sense it's good quality and tasty. I got chicken dumplings, the pad thai special, and Sala thai fried rice. All were perfectly cooked and punched a powerful flavor. The pad thai special is made with cellophane noodles rather than the flat noodles. It was slightly lighter than regular pad thai and still had a great pad thai flavor. Their spice levels are from 1-4, with 4 being the spiciest. Their level 4 isn't as spicy as thai hot levels at other restaurants but still is a good addition of flavor to your dish. I'm glad the food still has the quality they had in their old location. A great place to go when you want to pick up food but don't want to walk inside of a restaurant.

This literal whole in the wall is where the original last call used to be (rip). It's been open for a bit and I had been wanting to go so we tried it recently. DELICIOUS. It was right before closing and the service was so nice and incredible. I got Sala Thai fried rice with chicken and I picked level 2 for heat, I could have gone for 3 but I get scared of Thai heat, as it can get crazy hot. It also came with fresh cut cucumbers and a slice of tomato and I thought that was something you normally don't get and I really appreciated it because it helped with the heat but also gave your taste buds a short break and some extra veggies. The rice was so delicious and it had a great balance of veggies and meat, a little more rice than the rest but that's totally fine with me. The heat was good, I'll probably go for 3 next time but even 2 was spicy and flavorful. I would totally go back! Amazing experience and food.

We needed dinner and businesses close earlier than where we live. I called at 8:35 pm to ask if I could order takeout. The owner said as long I'm there by 9 pm that's fine. We ordered chicken dumplings, spring rolls, chicken pad Thai, and yellow curry fried rice. We asked for level 2 spice. It had some heat to it! There wasn't much chicken in either dishes. It was very hot and tasted good. It's exclusively a walk up window for takeout and no tables or chairs outside for dining.

The menu on here is WAY OFF!! The prices are significantly higher than what is posted. I paid $33 for 2 items, which I thought was going to be $22, and when I got there I forgot to take a picture of the menu. On the other hand, the food is VERY good. I ordered heat level 3 & 4 and could have been hotter for me, so, it's not as spicy as one may think. The food was fresh and delicious and the owner (I only talked to the husband) was super friendly. Great little TAKE OUT ONLY place!!

Best Thai I've had in ABQ. The store is a two man place where you order at the window. Food is cooked fresh and in a timely manner. The owner is great and always remembers my order. The store looks clean and sanitary, plus the lights outside lets customers know they're open for service. Pay attention to their hours due to its odd hours, but they are great at what they do. I recommend the drunken noodles with chicken, level four if you like it hot. I mean New Mexican hot, so it's gonna be spicy
