Ruthie's Bagels

Best bagels I have had in ABQ so far. Best Bagels I have had in this central New Mexico area is in Santa Fe. They are called Out of this World Bagel. Those bagels have the chew that reminds me of the east coast. Ruthie's is solid. You don't need a membership to get in. Let the person at the front desk know you want some Ruthie's and they let you in.

By far the best bagels in town or at the very least one of the best. Located in the Jewish Community Center (JCC for short) you can find Ruthie's Bagels/Rhubarb & Elliott Cafe. Just walk in and go to the back corner for your bagel needs. The bagels and lox are definitely a must try but even without the fancy fixings their plain, boiled bagels are a delight. They have all kinds of flavors including some that are very New Mexican, some classics, and some sweet options.

We've tried other bagels in ABQ but none compare to Ruthie's Bagels. I need to try a few other delicacies, Knishes perhaps?

Stopped by for bagels on Sunday morning and was not disappointed. I NEVER would've known this place existed if it wasn't for a friend of a friend mentioning it online somewhere. They're tucked away inside the JCC, just three minutes from my house! I had to wait quite a while but it's because I was the first customer and the bagels were still in the oven. The bagels were perfectly chewy and delicious. The sesame was awesome, green chile bagel was flavorful but not spicy. The garlic bagel was yum too and my girls enjoyed the chocolate chippy ones. I would say if you've got cream cheese at home, skip theirs as it's $4.50 for half a pint of plain and you add a dollar if you want to add green chile, which IMO had no heat or much flavor. I could've saved myself $10 if I'd known to skip the shmear. TLDR; fresh, delish bagels! Definitely worth a stop, but save your moola on the containers of shmear.

Oh baby, these knishes are legit! Perfect crust to potato ratio. So worth the schlep from the westside. Made an online order to snag up some Passover goodies for my Bubbe, so grateful to Yelp for this delicious find! A breeze to order online, then pick up Ruthie's bagels from Rhubarb & Elliott's in the JCC lobby on Wyoming & Spain, or do curbside pick up. Challah bread. Matzah "crack." Spring fennell salad with strawberries and pomegranate dressing. So darn delish it'll have ya feelin' a little verklempt. You gotta be meshuggeneh not to order a baker's dozen of bagels *boiled to perfection* and a tub o' schmear, perhaps even some matzo ball soup! Not to mention they craft special menu items during the holidays....winning!

Oh my gosh! These bagels were fantastic!The place we've been getting bagels for years that's in Rio Rancho recently closed and I came to Yelp looking for another bagel place to try.We ordered our bagels online and did curbside pickup and couldn't have been happier. The bagels were still warm when they were delivered to us and they were absolutely wonderful! While we wish it wasn't across town from us, I know we'll be back.

So glad we gave these bagels a try. So much better than the Einsteins down the street. It was weird going into the JCC not being a member or even from Albuquerque, but everyone was super friendly and made us feel welcomed. I definitely recommend giving it a try if you want an authentic Bagel!

Bagels were stale and way over priced! I would highly recommend finding an alternative vendor.

She's super nice and made the bagels with TLC but overall the bagels are ok. It's also a bit challenging to find the location.

Stopped in for lunch at a good friens suggestion. Wow. Had the deluxe, everything bagel. Fantastic!! The seating options are questionable at best. In the back lobby of the JCC, with people, groups, strolling through to other events. Flimsy portable tables.None of that matters once you taste the bagels
