Rocky Mountain Gun Show

The layout was pretty nice; didn't feel like cattle being herded through like other events I've attended, lol. Cool raffles first thing when we were there: firearm, ammo, etc. The majority of the vendors were very informative and took the time to educate ya about them and their products. Had a good time and saw some killer pieces I added to my Wish List :)

Our first gun show in New Mexico. We've been to plenty of shows in Texas and wasn't sure how this one was going to stack up against the other shows we've seen. Needless to say, we were pleasantly surprised as we entered the arena. While I didn't count I would estimate there were about 800 table, with few if any empty tables. One thing seen at Texas gun shows that was noticeably missing from here were tables only containing items unrelated to weaponry. Things like jewelry, paintings, posters or coins. For the gun enthusiast it was a cornucopia of guns, antique firearms, ammunition and accessories. The biggest thing I noticed, unlike other gun show gun prices were reasonable - at or below retail. Likewise with ammunition. There was plenty of bulk ammo to be found and once again reasonably priced. So we were impressed and will look forward to their return in Feb

The Staff for the event were pretty rude actually. Decent vendors. Had a mask on beneath my nose and the announcer saw. He freaked out, came over to me and told me to "cover up". I said I had a mask on. He called over security to come kick me out. I was calm and professional the entire time. The security guy says he's just doing what he's told and doesn't make decisions for himself so he wouldn't let me stay even with a mask on.

Small shows with lots of non firearm vendors. I've been a vendor and a guest and either way its not worth it. Judging by the crowd size, it's clear to me my lack of enthusiasm is shared by many others. Don't waste your time and just find what your looking for on line from the comfort of your living room. It used to be fun to go to the gun shows, but with this group mediocre is as good as it gets.
