Rio Tacos

Stopped in to grab some breakfast tacos. Spoke with the head chef and he was _very_ knowledgable about gluten free. Ruled out the fryer and several other options, but was very happy to work with me to find something to eat.Corn tortillas are made on site and he was happy to whip up breakfast tacos even though they weren't on the menu. They were DELICIOUS!Very positive experience. Definitely going back.

Came on two different occasions to try the tacos. You order at the front before you sit down. Since it was my first time I wanted to try one of each taco. I visited on a weekend and there was a line out the door because there isnt much space inside and only one register. It did take awhile to get the order but there was some seating inside on the sidewall to wait. Staff was friendly and brought my order to me.These are the four I tried:Barbocoa 4/5 good flavor but not enough meat in the taco.Chicken 3/5 dry meat and not much flavor Al Pastor 4.5/5 juicy flavorful with onions and pineappleCarne Asada 3.5/5 also dry less flavor has some crisp to the meat.On a separate occasion I ordered Birria tacos to go online in case I had another long wait. The food was prepared quickly and was still warm when I got home.Birra 5/5 it had good filling and perfectly cheesey. It also came with consume and salsa. Definitely a favorite.

Was in town for a swim meet with my kids and after a disaster Friday night dinning experience I wanted some tacos, and not ones from a big chain. Base on reviews and proximity we settled on Rio Tacos. I judge all my tacos adventures on the quality or this Al Pastor Tacos and these were excellent. My kids were a little less adventurous but no less thrilled with their asada tacos. Service was friendly, prompt and efficient, we were in and out for lunch in the time it takes to enjoy one of their draft beers. Would highly recommend.

Very nice spot and the owner was informative. I had breakfast and my friend had a trio of tacos that he said were delicious. We will be back

Delicious Tacos and beer! Close to balloon fiesta. Super friendly employees and clean atmosphere. It's pretty small with about eight tables that sit 6 people, a long bar top that sits 12 people and about three tables on their outside seating area. Definitely would recommend trying.

We have been supporting rios tacos for a while even since they were just a food truck. This small business run by a father and son team will blow your mind. First of all I want to let you know that unlike most little taco places, the owner has a real culinary background, and it shows in the artistry of the food. Every item at Rios tacos looks as good as it tastes and smells. The queso birria tacos stand out here as the best I've ever had anywhere I've gone in my life. You absolutely must try this item here. The quesadillas are also really great here and worth having along with your meal, so are the tacos of any kind. The barbacoa stands out as an amazing meat though, probably top 2 barbacoa in all of New Mexico and top 3 I've ever had anywhere. It's really really good and worth a try. For desserts their Sopapilla cheesecake is pretty good, but if I had one piece of feedback I would say the tres leches was a bit dry and could loose the whip cream on it. Tres leches is my favorite dessert so I eat it often and had to include some constructive feedback. But everything else is so great that my 5 star review sticks. It's hard to find a business like this in New Mexico so if you're reading this review, drop what you're doing and head down there!

I was very excited to try this spot because the menu is pretty extensive and well priced, I love a classic carne asada burrito. I did have two issues tho, they did not put sour cream in the burrito as stated on the menu, and it was SOOO salty. I am definitely going to give it another chance because perhaps the chef that day accidentally went a bit heavy handed, but man I was wild.

Food excellent!Services excellent and very friendly!Restaurant very clean. There was an employee walking around cleaning, wiping soda machine, wiping counters, tables the whole time we were there. Very clean, friendly and good food.Will definitely be back !

Heard great reviews of Rio Tacos - so we tried it for midweek lunch. Business location was ideal on Alameda and parking was good. Was greeted by a friendly worker upon entering and he explained the menu - and the popular items. I had the birria queso taco plate and my wife had the chicken burrito. Both were delivered quickly from the clean, orderly, and readily visible kitchen. Owner/Chef was friendly as well.BL: The food tasted amazing! The quality of the restaurant was confirmed! Highly recommend.... Check it out.

Very bland and expensive for what you get. Salsa was not hot and the spicy salsa you have to ask for looks like chili oil from an Asian style food.
